Gran Turismo 6 Season 9 Round 2-4
Posted on Thursday 9th June at 10:20 AM

Gran Turismo 6 returns to the homepage as we review the stunning battles, races and thrilling moments that have happened over the past 3 rounds! Drivers have travelled to the mountains surround the Red Bull Ring, the monstrous elevation changes at paddock hill bend at Brands Hatch and the tricky Midfield raceway’s sweeping corners. Division 1 is up first!

It was a familiar face at the front of Division 1 as Warrior2167 takes his first victory of the season at the Red Bull Ring after coming under heavy fire from Aussie_Nicko. Warrior’s victory takes him one step closer to that 50th Sunday League Victory. Bryan_F sneaks 2nd and B-Spec Bob capitalizes also on a late mistake by Nicko, with Skywalker picking up 25 points towards his Division 1B campaign.

warrior2167 Qual P1 Race P1:
I really liked that no stop race as we haven't done one of those in a while.

Pole position was a good advantage as I was able to clear the potential shenanigans at turn 1. The first half was all about driving to a number of a low 27. Nick was driving a tad faster and got me on lap 3, I wasn't sure on his strategy and was still committed to mine even if he was going to drive off into the distance. I soon realised he too was thinking about the end of the race, so I was just content on staying behind and staying in front of bryan and bob.

About lap 15 nicko goes wide at 2 and leaves the door open for me, it's at this point that I just decide that I have to now push hard to the finish. Lap after lap after lap the gap remains around one second and I convinced that he still has something left in those last 5 laps. I was so focused on perfecting my lines that I didn't even see what happened to nick until half a lap later, hard luck mate. I still wanted to push hard to see what times I could do at the end and the slowest was a 27.990 on my final lap, honestly I couldn't that race any better. Congrats to Bryan and Bob for completing the podium.

Fired up after the Red Bull Ring, Aussie_Nicko takes maximum points away from the Sprint Round at Brands Hatch with a well calculated second race picking his way through the pack, and making sure the field know he wants redemption for last season. Warrior claims second place ahead of B-Spec Bob, taking his third 3rd place finish in the third round! Skywalker takes Division 1B honours.

aussie_nicko Qual P1 Race P1:
Happy to bounce back from a poor Rd 2 to claim the win at Brands, Warrior and I had a great battle throughout race 1, trading fastest sectors lap after lap until he closed the gap with 2 laps to go. Lap 16 we both ran a little wide turn 5 which allowed me to get a slight buffer to finish just 6 tenths from Dave, tremendous pressure mate.
Race 2 and I managed to get a good run around the outside of turn 2 past Dave, from here just aimed to pick up as many positions as I could, ending 2nd at the finish. Couldn't catch Matt, he was far too consistent - great pace there mate!!

Well done Warrior and Bob for rounding out podium, see everyone at rd 4.

Midfield raceway was all about strategy play with drivers left gambling on whatever tyres they could to make the transition from wet to dry as easy as possible. Warrior2167 showed his experience and chalked up another win, and benefitted massively after a number of drivers, including title rivals and RJN Nissan Driver Mint_GTR breaching regulations and suffering a disqualification.

warrior2167 Race P1:
That was some race last night. Congrats to Matt for the pole, outstanding pace in the wet. Shame about the pistop for yourself and Nick. That was a superb fight all race.

I started the race on softs and I had no idea what anyone else around me on. Soon realised that Matt was on the same tyres so I was happy to follow. Mistakes from both of us allowed Nick to catch up, then soon after I missed the apex at the 2nd last corner and had to slow more than normal to avoid going off. There was some contact and sportingly Nick slowed down. Matt had a big lead now and then suddenly it was gone and we see Matt parked at the side of the road.

I didn't want anymore mistakes and I just wanted to circulate and stay out of everyone's way. I let nick by and soon after was back in 1st after nicked went off the dry line. The track was now starting to dry and I was now amongst the 1st stopers. I didn't want to go offline line to try and pass you guys so I had to stay behind. Also knowing the you had much fresher tyres I would just get out of the way.

I was planning to go to lap 30 just in case it stared to rain again, but both Nick and Matt were flying and I had to get rid of my worn softs for mediums on lap 23. The gap after the stop was 5 seconds and it just kept closing. I though that I must have been wrong and they both started on mediums. Gap was still decreasing and was flashing Crunch hoping he would move over, thankfully he did and I was just able to hold on to the win.

Now onto Division Two!
McCracken_27 takes out yet another victory for the season as he goes on to take the flag first ahead of Natmanscoop and Cola1001 on the rolling hills of the old A1 Ring circuit.

Arakasi- Race P7:
Had an absolute blast in a "how long can this go on" battle with Adronaught ,with disturboed around for a lot of it too.

Great clean, hard, ultra fun, position swapping awesomeness :thumbsup::thumbsup:
We may have been somewhere down the back, but what a race!!! Thanks guys.

Congrats Watto64 , good job
Well done natmanscoop and cola1001 for stepping up on the podium :thumbsup:

After pole position at all 3 rounds and only missing the Fastest lap once, it was finally the turn to taste the victory champagne for Motorsports560 as he provided a masterclass in the Sprint round held at the infamous Brands Hatch circuit! Heres what McCracken_27 had to say on the result

McCracken_27 Round 3:
I got up to 3rd and was closing in on the leaders when I disconnected for the 1st time in ages.
I was very confident of a good result (even a round win after Motorsports mishap) but the bloody internet gods had other ideas.
Looking forward to next round.

Midfield was the midpoint in the season for Div2, but the guy in the middle of the podium was Motorsports 560 once again for the second week in succession to snatch the title lead away from McCracken who suffered a Disconnect. Holdenman05 took the pole and 2nd on the podium, alongside bmw_mtb_boy in third.

Motorsports560 Race P1:
VICTORY!!!
Seriously though great race guys unlucky Watto for DSC Also congrats holden and BMX for completing the podium 5 more laps and would have been interesting. Also teammate Turbo got 5th :) overall good night

Next up for Division 2 is the fearsome Nurburgring Nordschelife.... but until then, let's see what Division 3 got up to since Suzuka, 4 weeks ago!

A lovely set of weather conditions set up a lovely win for HTO's Alovelycupoftea as he takes 25 points with him on his flight back from Austria as he takes out the round. Emmo46 made a popular appearence on the podium as always, whilst incey maintained a strong title start with Third.

alovelycuppatea Race P1:
Cracking race today! Had a really good time and can't wait for next week! Had good battles with people and wasn't expecting emmo46 to come on so strong towards the end, which shows that I was struggling more with the tyres. Incey put in some good pace as well and started gapping me and getting me worried until he pitted.

Incey's title lead only get larger after the Brands Hatch sprint round in Division 3 after playing his cards right in the 2 race weekend and outscored the rest of the field. X-3vilm00n took out 2nd on the podium as alovelycupoftea tastes the lovely champagne!

Incey Qual P1 Round P1:
Well that was an interesting nite. The fast qually times just kept getting faster and I kept stuffing up different parts of the track. Finally put one together and just sneaked into pole. Up until naacs wheel gave out that was one of the most intense battles I have been in. You are a great driver naacs not hitting me at all through all those close encounters lap after lap. I tried not to block overtly but it is a difficult track to pass at when someone stays on their line. Would have been interesting to see how the tyres lasted ....if only your wheel lasted...
race two was hectic. it was survival there for awhile with cars flying everywhere. I thought i was toast when emmo looped it into easy i think and me and brew just snuck through. i managed to get up to the front after recovering from a 'friendly' nudge off the track from pat but then a few laps later ended up losing it on the last straight all by myself. very embarassing. A good battle with cyber and moon made the last few laps of the race fun as well. Couldn't quite find enough to catch cuppa who seemed to have better pace in the second.
Great fun guys.

Midfield is an incredibly difficult circuit to master, yet mastering the circuit is exactly what NAACS did in Division 3 as he takes home the maximum points haul to add to his collection this season, taking him to 2nd in the chase. Incey; yet to fall off the podium this season made an appearence as he beats Easyprey007 to prevent a PRT 1-2 finish.

Cyberstig1 Race DSQ:
Voops!!! so much for my fastest lap. Suffering serious brain fade issues. Started on softs and put them back on after pit stop - completely forgot one set rule. Was waiting for it to start Ffffing raining. Was talking to some of the lads in a room after and relaised I had F-up. So much for my brief moment of glory getting FL. Got the call from emmo46 saying "Who's a Naughty Boy then???". Voops!!!

That's all from GT6 for now, we'll be back with Rounds 5 and 6, but will all the drivers be back after a fearsome drive through the Green Hell itself? Find out next time, on ROOZ NEWS!
