Project Cars Season 4 Rounds 3-4
Posted on Friday 19th August at 2:22 PM
Silverstone is a classic venue that is recognized around the world as the host of many great races, events and some of the most demanding corners on the grand prix calendar. Bathurst on the other hand is a circuit gaining a larger and larger global presence for every year that passes, despite already being one of the absolute all time Australian legends. One is a twisty winding icon, the other is the most intense four-wheeled roller-coaster you could ever dream of. This is rounds three and four of the Project Cars League, featuring the infamous sprint round!

In Division 1 SickSkills011 finally managed to convert Pole to a round victory after cruising to victory in Race 1, and making steady progress in the second race. Whilst Beau finished 2nd in Race 1, an incredibly strong drive through the field secured Slambobagan second for the overall round as Beau made a costly error at the Kink corner.
Slambobagan Round P2:
Fun racing last night pretty happy to finish with 2x 3rd places, and FL
First race bogged it off the line dropped back a few spots but managed to fight my back to the lead pack got up to 2nd with a few laps to go only to out brake myself on the chicane before the final lap and let beau sneak back past,
Race 2, Epic... charging through the field such good fun had a few good battles, especially trying to get round juzzy and chasing down N64 at the end pumping out high 6s lap after lap got real close to him on the last lap tried to stick up the inside at the exit of the chicane and copped abit of wheel spin taking too much curb lost the exit speed. but still happy to get 3rd from 11th.
Gutted won't be here next week for Bathurst

As the premiere division reached home territory at Mount Panorama, it was the Dutchmen verses the Kiwi yet again this season as pole sitter Samsung1998Racer and Beau_Albert duked it out. An error coming down the treacherous mountain however was all it took from Samsung1998Racer to gift Beau a second win this season, and increase his championship lead ahead of runner up SickSkills011 and a popular podium result for TheJuzzy.
Beau_Albert Q2 R1:
Well, if there's one race I didn't expect to win it was around the mountain...
Managed to nab a front row start which was a surprise with Dan's change of form and Samsung as I knew going into the race being a freak of nature around here. Got a fantastic launch however my lead only lasted until Turn 2 where Samsung tried around the outside and I made my life difficult by trying to give him so much room and made my line ultra-tight, allowing him an easy pass in the end.
For the next 3 quarters of the race I followed Sam in his slipstream as we managed to build a somehow monumental gap to Konnor in third. With 7 laps to go I decided to quit following Sam and start attacking. Numerous side by side runs into the chase and a couple of times up mountain straight. Eventually though on Lap 17 Samsung made an error all by himself coming down the hill and slammed the wall before the dipper, coming perpendicular to the track and I narrowly missed him, regardless of what he said happened with lag. Just find it hysterical the only contact from my lag just so happened seconds after his self-made error.... sigh.
Sam then rage quit after his error and with a 41 second lead I was able to relax a little and bring the car home to perhaps my most unlikely ROOZ victory of them all.... Road America next, a track I know Konnor and Samsung like and I really don't! I'll be keeping my fingers crossed every step of the way that's for sure!

In Division 2, two strong drives from Zharvs92 saw him continue his ever improving run of form through the Divisions and find his way to a victory at the Silverstone sprint round. Zharvs controlled the first race beautifully whilst a very controlled run through the field was enough in the second race to secure him the victory.
Zharvs Round: P1
Cleanest sprint round ive had so well done lads.

Not much to say bout my races. 1st in race 1 and 4th in race 2. Think that gives me the round. Hit an invisible wall along hangar straight but its all good lol. 1 round in the rig and 1 win from that. I like it. See yas next weekend for the almighty Bathurst!

Bathurst was going to challenge the Division 2 guys as they battled their way around 20 laps of the Australian icon, however ADZA_85 ruled supreme around the mountain with a race time that would have placed him second in Division 1. AOCleaner74 came home behind Adza whilst CobMcCool rounded out the podium in third.
ADZA_85 Race: P1
Sorry to hear Zharvs. Youve had quality times all week. Was a psychological battle at the front with AO as we made an exchange of a tenth or two lap over lap. A solid drive free from major error to secure P2 for him. Was quiet up front. Glad to take line honours at the mountain. Good luck to all. Drive safe

Next up, it’s the third division!

Division 3 this season has been all about Jasond1986 and he once again lead the field around Silverstone with a pole position and fastest lap to add to his unbeatable tally so far this season. Garyw61 finished the sprint round behind Jasond and Kart-No-1 ran third after the points got tallied up for the 2 races.
Jasond1986 Q1 R1:
Wow guys great racing tonight that was awesome to be a part off - Well done Gary on the second race win you cleared the field way quicker than me and I never even got a look in,
Race 1 went not as planned, Managed to grab pole by a tenth and then couldn't shake Gary at all always around .6 behind me,
Got to about lap ten and made an error losing it in stowe, sliding across the apex and losing the position, From the it was 12 laps of chasing Gary but I was losing time in the last three corners every lap, Then on the last lap I just nailed the best lap I've ever done stuck with Gary all the way there the final Sector and got a premium run on to the hanger straight, Took the inside and threw it in, I started to slide away from the apex but I had got the better entry and managed to take the lead, Had a very nervous and pretty sloppy final sector but took the win by half second,
Race 2 was the best race ive had well done to all for really keeping it clean and it was so hard to get past guys, I followed gary for a while as he calved up the pack ahead and I just keep getting snagged behind so really great driving. Slowly made the way up to 4th by lap 16ish as Gary took the lead from Kart, I followed redness for a while but he made an error that allowed me through, By then Gary and Kart where 2 secs ahead and I just kept pushing till I got close to Kart but just couldn't get by him as his pace was great, But once again on the final lap I just hooked up Stowe a bit better and went for the inside under braking, Wasn't sure I was going to get the run to the line as a left a cars width at every apex as I wasn't really sure where Kart was but I held it together for P2, Well done Gary didn't even get the chance, And Kart I was rooting for you mate to get gary so you could snag that elusive win,
Cheers Guys

Finally there was a breakthrough win for another driver in Division 3 as Garyw61 takes Mount Panorama by storm to win 25 points as he crosses the finish line in the lead. Jasond1986 has his worst result of the season down in second, highlighting what a season it has been so far for him, whilst dj2ca comes home third for his first podium of the season thus far. On the podium, Gary kept it short and sweet!
Garyw61 Race P1:
Good race thanks guys. Bad Luck Jason.
I think in the end it just came down to who made the least mistakes lol.

Finally in Division 4…

The Silverstone sprint round is one of the most high paced events on the ROOZ calendar every time it comes around, and it was no exception this time around as Ryzza5 clinches victory in the sprint round with both bonus points ahead of championship rival ranok3n. Rossi0nsx scored his first podium of the season as the championship hunt begins to hot up!
Ryzza 5 Round P1:
ranok3n for Div 3? Well done mate.
Good racing guys. Dodged the T1 incidents perfectly again for race 1 but not so fortunate for race 2. Got collected by the narrowest of margins when someone rejoined and spun right in front of me mid-turn on Stowe.

Yet to get a podium all season, it was Cruciald00dz who broke through onto the podium, straight onto the top step as he masters one of the toughest circuits on the globe. Ryzza5 continues a strong run of form to bring home second as he begins to nip away at Ranok3n’s championship lead. Nathancarhead scored Fastest lap on his way to the final step of the podium at the NSW venue.
Cruiciald00dz Race P1:
I failed to produce the goods in qually which was disappointing, I was about 5m away from crossing the line with a low 18 before the timer ran out.. made pretty short work of everyone at the start of the race and built up a solid lead, had some pretty amazing battles with Ryzza5 , i think we both felt the pressure at times both making minor mistakes and sacrificing the lead to each other.. Massive respect to Ryzza5 for not taking advantage of a small collision i had with a blue flagger on L19 that wasnt getting out of the way on the way up the mountain. We both had a few minor touches but nothing that could go beyond being just a racing incident. 10/10 would bathurst again!
P.S
pretty stoked on a P1 after only my 3rd race

The championship is heating up across all four divisions now, who would come out on top? Only the drivers themselves will know as we head into the next two weeks of high intensity racing around the ultra-high speed Road America, and the flat out daunting Catalunya Grand Prix Circuit.
Until next time….
