Gran Turismo 6 Season 10 Rounds 3-4
Posted on Friday 19th August at 2:23 PM
The prancing horses of the 10th season of the GTLOZ had arrived at the bull ring for the Sprint Round, one of the most intense and exciting rounds on the entire ROOZ season. The winding, elevating Austrian circuit plays host to round 3 whilst round four for the GTLOZ drivers was held in appalling conditions at the Apricot Hill circuit, drivers would need to use every bit of skill they had to keep the car in a straight line, let alone a quick lap. Let’s see how they got on!

First up, Division Un!

After the troubles faced by the drivers at Sierra, the drivers lined up at Red Bull Ring more anxious than usual as the 11 Gran Turismo elite lined up staring down the high speed turn one, not once, but twice for the sprint round. In the end, it was straight dominance by Warrior2167 who takes his first victory of the season with both bonus points to boot. Bryan_F gets his first podium of the season in second whilst Round one winner B-Spec Bob rounds off the podium. Sadly, everyone was out celebrating finishing a race on PD’s servers, so nobody was available for comment.

Apricot Hill in the reverse direction is tough enough as it is, but when the clouds came down before the night’s opening race, we knew we were in for some spectacular racing. In the end Warrior2167 doubled up on his Round 3 success and took another 27 points away from the slipperiest round of the season. Lets_party-1611 was certainly partying as he came away with a sensational second place whilst B-Spec Bob clings onto another podium for the season.
B-Spec Bob Race: P3
Made my own race interesting when I noticed my gear stick was in 3rd gear, so put it back into neutral before race start and thought nothing of it. Note to self, check gear indicator and manually put it back into 1st gear instead of launching like a complete idiot. Fell down to last but took advantage of the chaos in the first 4 laps and found myself back in 5th where I spent most of the race. Slowly caught the 2nd-4th pack and managed to wrestle 3rd off Motorsports560 on the penultimate lap. Satisfied with the result given lets_party-1611 had good pace so well done on a deserved 2nd place and congrats again on the win

Next up, Division deux!

The Red Bull Ring sprint round shook the running order up completely in Division 2 just as it is meant to do. Unlikely victors came away from the round and usual protagonists fell down. Driving brilliantly throughout the night, Viperzed took victory for the Gamesmen Racing Team, finally capitalizing on the success he could have had at Monza. Luckgoesmyway had luck go his way as he takes home Second after starting the feature race on pole, and cola1001 took his first victory of the season.
Viperzed Round: P1
Nice racing last night chaps. Was surprised by my own pace throughout the night although carving the field in race 2 didn't go as well as I thought. My pace in race 1 was fantastic as I took the lead at T1 and didn't look back. Race 2 I had an amazing start and had the run on Hatfield into T1 but was too ambitious on the inside. From there some messiness had me back behind Hatfield for the finish. Well done especially to Luckgoesmyway who is surprising us all with his pace!

Apricot Hill Raceway hadn’t eased off one bit when the Division 2 boys lined up on the grid, however bmx_mtb_boy didn’t mind one bit as he dominated the race out front to take a second win of the season and increase his championship lead on the Division. Randm90 came home second, albeit only just ahead of DRZ-Hatfield who hounded the white and pink Ferrari all the way to the chequred flag.
DRZ-Hatfield Round P3:
Qualified mid-pack with a low 36 and expected the front half of the field to pull away but that's not how it panned out. To my surprise I was staying with the pack as they fought for position.
Eventually started making positions as guys made mistakes.
Once viper dsc, bmx had a 6sec ish lead and randm was all over me for a good 10 laps or more until I finally made a small error on the final lap which cost me half a second and second place.

Division Trois, it’s your time to enter the bull ring!

After his first victory in so long at Sierra, the confidence was flowing through Emmo46 heading into the Red Bull Ring. He capitalized on this extra leap in his step as he takes a second victory in two rounds ahead of alovelycupoftea who came home second after starting the race at the very front. Harrison Johnson was flying through the night and took home the fastest lap and a second podium of the season.
Emmo46 Race P1:
Can't believe it myself, last week was a free kick but this week, man that was hard fought for. It was great clean racing and everything just fell into place for me. 5th fastest lap time of the night but a win and a third gave me the round win none the less.

Apricot Hill in the wet requires some serious white knuckle driving, so it was only fitting in Division Three that Knuckles013_ led the field across the finish line to take his first victory of the season in just his second start. Alovelycupoftea finished the wet round in P2 whilst bluemoon took home third, adding to his strong campaign so far this season despite missing the Sierra round.
Knuckles:
Definitely would of been very close mate (In response to alovelycupoftea’s few costly errors). Soon as i saw you slide off at turn one i put in 3 or 4 quick laps. Just tried to stay on black stuff after that. Your one lap pace was in a race of its own. Great race. Forgot to keep replay too.

That’s the three Divisions all wrapped up as we surpass the halfway point of the season. For the first time in the GTLOZ history, we head to Spain next for the Ascari round 5 Endurance race, followed by the tight twisty streets of Rome. Could the next two rounds be any more different? I think not. Will the results be any different over the next two weeks? Let’s wait and find out!
Until next time….
