Gran Turismo 6 Season 10 Final Round
Posted on Wednesday 5th October at 2:32 PM

Just One round remains for Divisions 2 and 3 in Season 10 of Gran Turismo 6, Emmo46 has already wrapped up one title, and Bmx-mtb-boy and Warrior2167 look poised to claim championship glory with a healthy lead heading into the finale. Division 1, suffering the worst of internet issues in Round 2 also face the re-run at Sierra, so with a healthy lead or not, there is still plenty of time for things to go pear shaped for a championship protagonist. The high banks of Daytona make it the biggest and most historic stock car race in the world, and many NASCAR drivers can attest to how difficult it is to win the big one, but how will our ROOZ drivers go when we also throw the road course at them? This isn’t going to be an easy race win…..

In Division One Warrior2167 was put under heavy fire by Aussie_Nicko who had grabbed pole and fastest lap, the two fighting for most of the race until Nicko made an error exiting the pitlane, gifting Warrior a fifth consecutive victory, enough to put him out of reach of anybody in the championship even with a round remaining at Sierra. StigsTC and Bryan_F both took full advantage of Nicko’s pitlane error to take second and third respectively.
Warrior2167 Q2 R1:
13 finishers again. Nice to see so many consistent numbers in Div 1.
To start the race I had a normal light sequence, but the hold after the 5th light was longer than normal. Also I only saw Nick's car and it wasn't that stable with a bit of shaking. Don't know if that was my connection or his, or 13 was right on the edge for a fixed room.
Despite that we both had a brilliant fight and we didn't even come into contact once. Unfortunately after the stop I was all alone. I under filled by a litre and had to save a bit during the final 2 laps.

The Sierra re-run was always going to be a high speed battle as drivers had plenty of time to prepare for the round, however nobody ended up being quite as quick as Bryan_F over the race duration as he scored victory in the championship closer by 10.2 seconds over the 15 time champion. Apex2691 was close behind Warrior, getting within 2 seconds but had to settle for the final step of the podium, his first of the season.
Bryan_F Q2 R1:
Firstly, I wasn't quite expecting to win my first Division 1 race the way I did last night, but I'll take it!
I felt as if everything seemed to go my way last night. Two drivers I expected to take the front row of the grid, Warrior and Apex, disconnected during qualifying (sorry if it was due to an issue with my network). And then on my hot lap, I was distracted trying to confirm whether qualifying would continue without them, so I was surprised my mediocre lap netted me second on the grid. BMW had a stunning lap, a 9:05, great effort.
Then for the first two laps of the race, I had a great battle with BMW, we were within a second of each other for most of it. Fortunately for me, there seemed to be incidents behind me, so I had no pressure from behind. Once Sean made a few errors, I was on my own, and I just concentrated on keeping it consistent to the finish.

Division 2 only faced the tricky Daytona Road Course, however that didn’t make the challenge any easier. Bmx-mtb-boy had plenty of pressure on his shoulders in the hope he could secure the championship victory, and he didn’t disappoint as he crossed the finish line to come in Fifth Place, enough to take out the Division 2 title for the season. Congratulations! McCracken27 finished the race on the very top step however, taking out the race win over 6 seconds clear of DRZ-Hatfield and 11 seconds over Randm90.
DRZ-Hatfield R2:
Thanks to bmx_mtb_boy on hosting last night and well done on the championship!
That's my third season to be the runner-up.

Qualifying didn't go well and from practice I knew I was losing most of my time at the bus stop.
Started near the back but got a good start and got between bmx &cola1001as they started to squeeze me from both sides. Luckily no one was turned around. Got pastAdronaughtjust after the next tight right hander and tried to keep with Watto64&Randm90
The gap slowly increased instead of quickly as they were battling... until I made a mistake at the bustop and lost about 3-4 secs.
Put my head down and then up front I notice the gap drop a bit and randm having a slight issue. It wasn't enough to pass him, but I just tried to keep it steady and watch the tyres.
On lap 17, mccracken & randm both pitted and I stayed out the extra lap.
Coming out of the pits I was right behind mccraken but randm had dropped a few seconds (I assume being held up in the pits) but I dropped a wheel and so now had no slipstream to the leader.
By now I had figured out how to take the bus stop a bit better and so the gaps stayed steady for the top 3.
well done mccracken on the win.

Division 3 hit the high banks of Daytona hard, but no one drove quicker around the hard to master circuit than bluemoon who picked up his first race win of the season ahead of champion, Emmo46. WOLFDADDY007 rounded out the podium to continue his very strong end of the season run.
Emmo46 Q4 R2:
I qualified 4th out of only five starters and that dampened my hopes of finishing off the season with a win, what with the two pace setters cuppa and knuckles being away.Bluemoonwas on pole ahead ofWOLFYDADDY007,Harrison Johnson, me thenmaximuscatticus. I got a good start and got up to third ahead of Harrison by turn 1. Wolfy and Harrison were running on Mediums so I had to clear them early in the first stint so I could use my Softs to advantage. At the tight right behind the pits Wolfy ran wide and I stuck my nose under him but that compromised my exit as he powered out beside me so I had to follow him to the entry onto the oval. I managed to get out of that corner well and passed him around the big bend and was up to second by the time we got onto the back straight. Any hope I had of staying in Moons slipstream was gone as he had used his SS and clear track to good advantage to open up a 2.5 seconds gap already. I pushed on hoping to be able to close but his pace was always on average about 1/2 a second a lap quicker. I was wary of Wolfy and Harrison possibly coming back at me once I changed to SM and them to SS but they both fell away very quickly with errors and I had a comfortable margin all the way to the flag. In all it has been a very enjoyable season and I woud like to thankBluemoonfor being an excellent host.
