So I was looking earlier at custom/DIY stuff I can add to my rig whilst I wait on my wheel replacement and I found someone on PCars forums who had the idea of using a numeric keypad as a cheap and efficient button box that works on PS4.

After mentioning it to a couple of others here that I might know a guy who could make up some good quality decal sheets for them I thought it might be an idea to ask if anyone else is interested in a bulk order on the decals.

    Here's the idea:
    http://forum.projectcarsgame.com/showthread.php?33122-Button-Box-on-PS4/page3

I'm thinking of a sticker sheet with all of the assignments would be the best way to go. That way people can mix and match as they like.
I've ordered a $4 keypad from eBay to test it out.

Yes there is, you could even get a Bluetooth numeric keypad if you wanted something smaller.

You just need to go into PS4 settings/ devices/ and you can add it in there as a Bluetooth device.

is there some good one's that don't go to sleep ? That's the problem I had with my blue tooth key board . I use a 5 port usb adapter so I can plug in the key board .

I've no idea mate. I'm using a 3 port hub on my PS4 stand. The PS4 should be able to handle a hub quite well though as it's got USB3 which handled almost twice as much power.

I'm ordering a couple of sets of the vinyls now, the guy is charging $15 delivered for water proof stickers or $20 for vinyl with 28 different settings on (I'll list them below)

The $20 vinyl will be all in one color (I've specified black with white lettering) and high quality.

The water proof sticker looks good quality and inkjet printed. OK in whatever mixture of colors you would like due to the printing process.

    20mm x 10mm (Enter Key)
    IGNITION - IGN

    10mm x 10mm
    ENGINE START - *ICON
    BRAKE BIAS INCREASE - BR+
    BRAKE BIAS DECREASE - BR-
    FRONT ARB INCREASE - FARB+
    FRONT ARB DECREASE - FARB-
    REAR ARB INCREASE - RARB+
    REAR ARB DECREASE - RARB-
    CAMERA CYCLE - CAM
    LOOK LEFT - *ICON
    LOOK RIGHT - *ICON
    LOOK BEHIND - *ICON
    LAP INFO - LAP
    REQUEST PIT - PIT
    ABS - ABS
    STABILITY CONTROL - SC
    TRACTION CONTROL - TC
    CYCLE HUD - HUD
    RESET CAR - *ICON
    SEAT FORWARD - SF
    SEAT BACKWARDS - SB
SEAT UP - S^ (^small arrow pointing up)
SEAT DOWN - Sv (small arrow pointing down)
    SEAT ANGLE UP - S+
    SEAT ANGLE DOWN - S-
    MOTEC LCD CYCLE - LCD
    NAMES - *ICON
    WINDOW WIPER *ICON

Also asked for a few extras such as a double sized ENGINE START, a normal sized IGNITION, and possibly an abbreviated version of the one's I used icons on? Just in case they don't look so great.

I've bought vinyls from this guy a few times and he always makes a great job. Happy to pass on his details to anyone who wants some, he's an ebay seller from Aus.

More info on the cheaper option.

the $15 option is using sticker paper, it looks good, and has a nice gloss, is water proof and can have a heap of colours since its printed, but is best for indoor use only.

and the vinyl may not be such a hot idea, turns out he was talking about literally one color with a cutout of the icon or lettering.
I'm going to order some of the stickers instead, I'll keep you all posted.

After I've got mine and @seowster 's done I'll post some pics and post up the guys details. If anyone is happy to take a 'chance' on it then I'm happy to pass details on now. Though like I said, I have full confidence in the guy.

Lol. when your stickers cost more than the pad they are to be put on. Great idea Beaker, but not for me. Normal stickers with permanent marker will be the go here. Keep us posted with how yours turn out though.

Yeah I understand. $19 button box though? That'll do me, I'm a fussy bastard on how stuff looks.
Besides, he has already said that once all the work is done on setting up he'll be able to knock them out cheaper down the track (pun) I wouldn't do the work he's doing and post it out for $15 tbh.
