Thanks for the advice guys. I was looking at a Forster S but that got snapped up. The Golf GTI is a serious option. I have had a look and they are a lot bigger inside than I expected. I also talked to a dealer today and he said that is possible to fit a tow hitch to them. So fitting a bike rack to the back is an option (not sure about the R though).

Tempting, very very tempting. I just wish I could afford the R wagon now :)

Had a road trip up to Bundy on the weekend and brought home a new toy. Was a fun trip with good food, good mates and a bar full of rum...yep every bottle there is rum. I got through 6 before my eyes got sleepy.

This little nugget of gold helped soothe my aching head the next morning. My Dad's 1974 Leyland Mini Clubman. Square front job still works for me and this is one of the last to be built...well put together anyway, in Australia.

Lots of work to be done on the old girl, and lots of work to be undone. She's got rego and is drivable and I've already drained a tank thinking up excuses to go for a drive! Anyone tempted by an old classic, my advice is to go for it. Hmmm come to think of it I've got a letter to post, might as well take the Mini!!!

Yeah I watched their build. This little rocket won't ever get a/c or a supercharger, but I would like to look at the front end. Current tyres are very rubbish and got a feeling something under there has a leak. But it's amazing how 60kph can feel like 100 in a car like this.

Don't laugh, but I needed a cheap little runabout that I didn't care if it got a bit messed up in Sydney traffic after my motorbike gave in to old age. I get very OCD with cars, so having a cheap handbag of a car makes it alot easier to not worry about stone chips and the like.

On an additional note, this thing weighs nothing (810kg from my rego slip) still has no power, but the tiny form makes it drive like a go kart (82ish BHP/Tonne so similar to owning a standard old mini). Still cruises on the highway and does it all while giving back 4.9ish combined, 6ish on the crap run from Mosman to Watsons bay, but as low as 3.2 on the coastal road between Sydney and Batemans Bay.

Edit: yes if your wondering, on the highway strong gusts of wind, large passing trucks and any life form the size of a willy wag-tail up is frightening.

Prepare your eyes, warning! seeing this may boost your Oestrogen.

well it was a demo! lucky (or unlucky) the demo wasn't the metallic pink colour. Preferably in the 4 speed auto.

and who needs to go out on the town when you can enjoy the throb of a sub 1litre 3-cylinder. :inlove:

My old Suzuki would wipe the floor with that lol. It had a few less wheels though! Love the MK3 Supra, must go all right with that quad cam slapped in it. How does she handle after the swap? Didn't upset the cars balance too much.
It was these that I blew the engine in my Pulsar racing, never miss a gear!

handles better than my 1ggte mk3 3 but its didnt have them TEMs variable suspension in it, and this ones got the larger brake rotors too, engine is actually lighter than the 6 cylinder engine they came out with

Nice, I looked at the Amarok when I bought the Colorado in July and almost went with it. The only thing I worried about was that I tow around 2t most of the time at work and I had fears of damaging the gearbox and having long wait times for parts from Singapore. They're a great tool though, my uncle (car dealer in UK) loves them. He deals in high end prestige cars and drives one of these around rather than the cars he sells.

Family in Malua Bay, also love the area. We used to go to North Durras every Christmas, used to be since my dad was a child. Pity it is a bit expensive these days.

Absolute beast of a car, V8 SS Camaro. I want one a lot. Got used to the left hand drive right away though I never got over 100mph in it as the highway was chockers and the north side of the island is just not built for it.
