Thought i'd show off a little bit of what i'm getting up to on iRacing I was hoping to discuss the Pro's/Con's of this versus AC, PCARS, F1 and GT6, buuuuut the race turned out to be quite the fight so that didn't quite go to plan
That looks great beau the big question I have is how much time do you need to have in the seat to come to grips with it and do the cars come good out of the box or do you need to spend a lot of time tuning as well
It took me about a month to learn the physics of the sim, but every car is so wildly different from one another that each car can take weeks at a time to truly perfect. The cars do handle well straight out of the box generally apart from Tyre Pressures, but there is no beating around the bush, if you want to be truly competitive, you need to have some tuning know how. Taking a wild guess, you'd want to race the V8 Supercar? If so, that is sadly one of the cars that has the biggest learning curves of all. It's not impossible to drive, i came to grips with it very quickly, but finding speed in that car is a whole different challenge.
Yeah I'm mostly keen on the V8 Supercars and the Australian tracks, fingers crossed the game has Sandown and Winton as they are two tracks I have had the opportunity to go around
Neither of them yet, although Sandown is highly requested. There is Bathurst, Phillip Island and Oran Park though. Although the Official V8 Series tends to mainly use international tracks; Including the V8SC layout of Circuit of the Americas.
Yep, 100%. I absolutely plan to join the World Grand Prix Championship and win the 10 grand. Might do it a few seasons in a row to be honest. I mean, how hard could it be? I'm only 6 seconds a lap off the pace.... Honestly, i thought i was at least fast. But on iRacing, there are guys that have so much more pace than me. I'm currently focusing entirely on the Porsche 911 Cup car, but there are still people 7 seconds a lap faster than me around the Ring. Which does kill me slowly inside.....
Beau nice vid, keep up the vids and commentary as it kept it interesting to watch. I couldn't private message you for some reason but want to know what mic / program you're using as it's very clear. Cheers
That's odd Not sure why you couldn't message me, but i'm simply using the Nvidia GeForce Experience that comes with the PC. Nothing special. As for the Headset, simply a $15 Logitech headset from Safeway haha.
haha i thought you had some special boom mic and software in the background...... a simple solution is always better
Man, why can't Simulation games accurately replicate a Car's mass when airborne? In PCARS when you were about to roll, the car suddenly gained 4 tonne and plummeted into the ground and broke up the tarmac, on GT6 the cars were bouncy when rolling, and in your video your car momentarily became a fairy before coming to an instantaneous stop! Although 10/10 on the start!
