Maybe if @StigsTC could tune the wheel spin and understeer out of those cars, that would be a win-win!
My view on the mustang vs the 86 is the stang is more work with a fair bit of understeer where the 86 feels more like a FWD as it is pretty much on rails. I find the stang more fun but the 86 would probably promote closer racing.
I raced FILO when he was in it. It still understeered, but he was thrashing me in the straights. And God damn if you can make a car actually point where you want it and put the horsepowers on the road ANY car can be great fun. I am sick to death of understeer until it power oversteers, we dealt with that through all of GT6 and despite the suspension being totally overhauled the stock diff settings are pretty much the same, only diff decel got INCREASED for even more bonus understeer. I was referring to a possible future community event. League seasons will presumably be tuning prohibited for the foreseeable future.
I’m finding it hard to choose between the 86 and EF7. The 86 is so predictable and notably slower so is easier to manage, which I think would make for closer (or more consistent) racing. On the other hand, the EF7 requires more focus and skill (IMO) to get the most out of, and if anything makes driving it fun and challenging and more rewarding when you get it right. I did not enjoy the Mustang at all....pretty much fell asleep at the wheel. Decisions decisions...
The way I would look at it is: The mustang is leading the 86 by 4 votes but the EF7 by 8. i'm not sure how many more people are going to vote but if you really don't want the mustang then the 86 is a must vote to get it closer to beating the mustang
After driving all 4, the bugatti was the only 1 I really liked. The Mustang has a nice sound and the speed is about right but I just don't like it. Maybe if I worked to not use TCS it might ne a better drive, but being an FR car TCS is sort of needed. The 86 has decent steering but let down by being a bit slow. The EF7 needs tuning to get the best out of it. It would have been my choice if tuning was allowed. The Bugatti was the only car direct from the shop floor where I didn't need to do anything to the car and just drove it like a bat outta hell. Crazy speed and handling.
My day to vote today. The VGT = No vote. There VGT and that’s it. The Mustang = Fun to drive but however, it sounds like my arse after a great curry the night before. Toyota 86 = will drive today but based on the testing that guys did with it last night ( @pat65 @Hatfield @AroGantz ) I can safely say it’s slow In a straight line, fast round corners and will probably make fun driving. My vote will be done today.
Once you get used to it you'll be faster which would definitely put you at the pointy end but the learning curve is steep especially when the rush of blood kicks in or you stop a wheel in the dirt, most people use it off the line as well but I started practising with different gears last night and wasn't going too bad off the line. It's certainly worth giving it a go.
Is it too late to suggest another car? I’ve spent some time in the Lamborghini Huracan Gr.4 today and thoroughly enjoyed it....great to drive even with TC turned off, sounds better than a lot of other cars out there and I’d dare say feels quicker / better than some popular Gr.4 cars suggested in this post....in my opinion anyway. Worth a crack I reckon.
yes it is too late... for this season. suggest next season reminder to all to sign up in the entry thread to ensure your vote is counted when manual count back occurs after the poll closes
We almost need popcorn to watch which car will take out S2 honours. 13 a piece for the Toyota and Mustang
Damn starting to feel like I may have jumped the gun with a livery on the Mustang which im not to keen to give up
