Can you change the livery on the 'non-Hamilton' version? Or just the paint colour? I'll be attempting a Schumi helmet replica for sure. I don't mind the Sainte Croix A. Some corners where you can get a really nice flow and it's pretty quick. I'll have a crack at B and C tonight, might even fork out for the Merc F1...I'm a glutton for punishment
Nope, Merc put the brakes on that one. I fear this will set a bad precedent for future race cars being added to the game. It sucks even more as I believe the Renault in Forza does not have this issue. I’ve since worked out how to drive the W08, basically the brakes completely cut the engine out, and if you like to carry the speed and brakes into the corner like I do, you will spin every time as the engine doesn’t turn on again until the brakes are off. Driving it in automatic is comedy, it wont even downshift until you let go of the brakes and even then, it goes straight from 5th or 6th (etc) to 1st or 2nd, as if it was a H pattern. As far as I’m aware, no other car behaves like this, or has in all 7 games. This is a classic case of PD not testing things before releasing it. They have done some stupid things over the years but this takes the cake for me. If you can wrap your head around it, it’s still an epic drive, but just don’t drive it on a track with corners below 100km/h. Tyre model is a modest improvement, I’m happy they’ve at least made some attempt at improving the longitudinal physics of the tyre, it’s still far, far away from perfect, but it’s something.
I'd say Mercedes only granted the license for the car shape, standard livery and block colour only due to licensing agreements with FOM and Codemasters. If you could create your own liveries on it, you could basically create an F1 series that may be a better experience than Codemasters can offer! Maybe they didn't want anyone putting Ferrari or Red Bull logos on their IP either! I think the problem will only be with F1 cars. They are so bespoke, and the teams are so guarded on their IP. A different developer having the F1 license just adds to the issue.
Can someone who attended the N100 TITTS event tell me what cars were run? I'd be very interested in a Bambino series - for real. It's a great car for tuning with a lot of body roll. Here's what I've got so far: Brake bias: 0 Ride height: 130/130 Spring rate: 1.14/1.10 Sway bars: 5/7 Shock absorbers compression: 58/60 Shock absorbers depression: 90/92 Camber: 0/0 Toe: 0/0 DIfferential: 5/5/5
Soooooo... Anyone else absolutely hating what they’ve done to the racing tyres? Softs feel like sports hards for sake
Well they fixed the Merc F1 and well wouldn’t you know it. it’s awesome. Plus some Lotus laps because why not
Need to play with the diff settings I think. If you drop any lower than 3rd gear the back end just goes around so quickly.
I was surprised to see the gap in times in qualifying and then the distance you put on the field in only 3 laps you'll have to see if you can get speedweek on board to broadcast division one of rooz lol
