I saw your post on the whirlpool forums mate. I appreciate the effort you've gone to. Lets hope they can/will do something about it.
A link to the thread would be nice, I dont use whirlpool much but would like to see how these threads progress. Here is a cool map @Godzilla shared a few days ago. https://www.submarinecablemap.com/#/
I may move it as there’s another large thread for posting support things on there. See how it goes. My hurdle is that I don’t have an account with any of these providers bar Aussie BB so anyone that wants, can lodge their own support requests with their specific tracert results questioning why it is so wrong. I saw that this has been an ongoing issue with TPG, hopefully making it public that another provider has solved the issue quickly will encourage them to do the same
Thanks for the info. I've tested it and running a Singapore VPN server I now get 90-100ms to both azure and aws ROOZ servers (previously aws was 150-160ms). I also now get 245-260ms to Kunos Europe servers (previously was 350-390ms). It's a real pain that our ISPs - Telstra in my case don't use optimal routing.
I would highly recommend submitting a support ticket with your tracert log to them. Even better if you have a tracert log from someone else who is in the same city as you but using a different provider and getting better results. Give them both and ask them to sort it.
Certainly will as the difference is quite large and I really should have to pay for a 3rd party service to reduce pings. Just tested running through an LA server and shaved 40ms off my pings to the Kunos US servers also (from 240ms to 200ms).
interestingly I was testing VPN's for myself and noticed that basically both ASW and Azure servers were bang on 100ms when using my VPN with an Aussie exit point... at the end of the day it's just lazy routing by your RSP/ISP
I just tried the same.....with an exit via Perth the AWS sever is 101ms. Setting it to Singapore is 150ms & without vpn it's 270ms. I guess the exit location is more important than the destination. Thanks for the info @Rolz.
TPG doesn’t look to have replied yet sadly, see if I get anything over the next few days. When I get a chance I’ll contact Microsoft as well as my work is a Microsoft partner
Still playing with this, Aussie BB is pretty helpful, TPG not so much... Spun up a server in Singapore as well using Google cloud services but that seems to get fairly high ping same as the others I get 148ms from Perth IP is 35.198.208.138 if anyone wants to ping it for reference
With Aussie Broadbands routing improvement I actually managed to get in to a competition server yesterday, probably reduced overall latency to Europe just enough, needed to refresh a couple of times but ping was at 220, must have 250 as the limit. Not a huge crowed there but was clean and good for a while...

I just loaded up the singapore server and am getting around 170ms in game, the strange thing is that doing a tracert Im at 88ms. Anyone else finding the same atm?
Foes it show the same when you are in the server? Have never seen that before myself but is that the issue the Minolin is having trouble with that is preventing ping limits? Unreliable ping reporting in the lobby? I’m getting 50ms tracert result to that server from work, can’t check the lobby until home
Its the same for me in game though it has now dropped to 140, I loaded up an ACC server on @Rolz AWS instance and am getting 89ms to this. Also I am getting normal ping to the AWS Aussie server.
You lost me a bit, ftw.simracer.me is Rolz’s AWS instance so both tracert and in game are showing the same?
Oh ok my bad lol, that explains the tracert I copied the wrong line.
