So in all 3 races I've (legally) finished I've ended 9th. Consistency is key they say.

I was pretty happy with my qualifying lap - for such a long track things were really bunched up during qually but I'm pretty sure I ended up fastest of the medium runners. I thought a reverse strategy might work as the softs should theoretically have worn less with lower fuel. Race started cleanly, I got ahead of @sparklehead83 but he got back past me very early. Coming onto the final straight I dropped a wheel off and nosedived into the wall for a long way. I tried to rejoin as best I could but tapped X-3v1m00n on my way back onto the track so apologies for that. I let him go and pitted after Lap 1 to put the softs on.

Despite the fact that I rejoined dead last and about 1:20 behind the leaders I'm pretty happy that I managed to eek 5 laps out of the softs, I just played it very conservatively and let the car come to me instead of pushing too hard into and out of corners. I managed to make up plenty of spots with others on more worn tyres. The fact that I ended up 20 odd seconds closer to the leader at the end then I was after Lap 1 to me justified my strategy - I never get any/enough practice in to challenge for the top but running the car smoothly and getting the most out of the softs was the way to go.

I won't be able to make the Red Bull Ice Skating Ring next week unfortunately but good luck to all involved. See you in a couple of weeks!

Hats off to Johnno/Emmo/ & Beatsy for a great Podium result.... All three witnessed my implosion on Lap4 as I tap-danced gracefully down a ripple strip. first time on Nordschliffe and can say it is a course that commands respect, and will bite you hard if you don't give it the respect it deserves.

The car and the track are a great fit, and I loved the week learning the track..

Will miss both Redbull & Tokyo as away on a work trip, and see you at Maggiore...

Looking at changing the Time of Day for the wet sprint race 2 for Sunday to something with a lighter rain setting.
Hope to confirm in the next day or 2

Not quite a highlights reel, due to the track length.
But some seriously close racing in several sections.

Excellent drive @Matthyus, that 3rd lap was the killer punch for me. You set FL and I had a few minor mistakes that I couldn't recover the time loss. Well done.

I'm super happy with my efforts this week.
I did what I set out to do and that no major offs and raced clean.
After all the times we've raced here I've slowly improved my knowledge of the track and it showed this week.

I had hoped to be starting up the pointy end, but a tyre on to grass at the fastest lead up a corner turned me into a missile that I so desperately tried to not hit anyone. I didn't feel any contact, but whole heartily apologize if my accident caused another.
I still managed to start 5th. Happy with that considering. Practise qually would have placed me top step..

This race is all about keeping clean lines and not being in a hurry. There is ample chance to overtake.
As the race began I sat behind @kiwinado and just waited.
As we hit the big straight we were right behind @Beats143 who had no defense to 2 cars in his slip. A double overtake by me a definite highlight!!
With the super slip, I was launched towards @emmo46, who I sat behind for all of lap 2 and again made sure I was in slip for the main straight once again for another overtake.
Once past Emmo, I set about running @RPeeM808 down. He had a gap of about 5s, which I got down to 1s by the end of lap 3. FL helped ;)
Lap 4 and I just kept it tidy and stuck with RP. Sadly he put a tyre on the green stuff and had a huge crash.
I so very nearly hit RP, but you ghosted in time.

Once past, I kept it clean until the pit stop at the end of lap 4. The Softs for me at least didn't have much life in them after about lap 3.5, let alone another full lap...
I flew into the pits, with Emmo hot on my heels, about a 5s gap.
I needed a lot more fuel than Emmo, so when we exited Emmo had gained 4s...

We had dropped down a few spots due to others doing different strats (5/1). The gap from me to 1st was now 25s.
I knew how long a pit stop takes, so set about reeling in those in front. I got the gap to sub 17s, knowing that should be enough to slingshot me back into the lead for the final lap.
Once past the pits, everything slotted into place. I had secretly hoped Emmo would get caught in traffic, but to his credit he stayed 2nd, to make sure he was there to take advantage of any accident of mine.

I kept it clean and took the win.
Well done @emmo46 @Beats143 on your podium finishes. To Beats well done on your first in D3!!
Also super proud Team Captain to pull a complete lockout of the podium plus 4th for NLR!!
    Well done Team.
A special mention needs to go to @RPeeM808 for staying in the lead for so long. You had that race champ. You will get the Nurburging win at some point.

Finally, the difference in the Championship is now 1 point, in my favour...
It is going down to the wire @emmo46 Looking forward to the last 3 races!!!

See you next week for the sprint round.

You have me for 5 points with current drop round calculation. Ineeded to win Nurb to make up for Bathurst but I just wasn't quick enough. Too many little errors costing me seconds at a time.

Congrats guys, you all did really well.
I wasn't prepared enough, something that will take many many laps to be even 90% confident with. Not easy to do with my limited time.

Regarding the last three rounds for me:
Unfortunately something has come up and I'll be out of town this weekend round 5.....and also the final round 7 I'll be interstate due to a rescheduled wedding.

See you at round 6 for Kyoto Yamagiwa

Good wrap up Matthyus, maybe a rock was thrown on track in front of me....Lol.....
Looking at the three abreast down the main straight for the "super slip" event was spectacular, albeit not a great outcome for me old mate Beatsy

I truly couldn't believe how much extra speed I got down that straight. To then be on Emmos bumper by the next corner I was truly going, WTF?!?!
Yeah, poor Beats, didn't stand a chance down there :)

Some nice highlights in your package Johnno (video just to be clear and take the wandering minds out of it) with some great battles. Div 3 is certainly alive with good size fields, competitive and mostly clean racing which makes for great fun and a huge adrenaline rush when in the battles.
The double overtake down the back straight by @Matthyus and @kiwinado was mind blowing to say the least. I was helpless.
After that i was able to bit by bit get close enough to Kiwi to apply a bit of hey I’m still here pressure and he, unfortunately for him made a slip up and i was able to get by.
I made an incredible move up the inside of @emmo46 into the blue paint dot right hand corner early in the race, but to his credit by the time we got up the hill into the fast left hander, i had to give way to his racing line or (Big Bang Theory) would have applied.
I spent a fair bit of time on 3 occasions behind the some times wide as a house, some times oops I’m almost crashing, or great defending Emmo Nissan. Unfortunately when @RPeeM808 slid off the track and came back on Johnno and Emmo got past under ghosting and guess what, i didn’t and that was Emmo gone. Johnno and Emmo pitted on lap 4 and i should have covered Emmo in hindsight to stay in sight of the battle, but no i went 1 lap more and that was a mistake.
Summary: awesome fun, great battles and bloody fast. Well done all.

    WELCOME to Season 14!!
As always please take 2 mins to read the following so you have an understanding of what is expected on race night.
If you have any questions, or want clarification on any of the rules or regulations please ask!

ROOM OPEN : Most room captains will 'try' to have rooms open by about 7:50 AEDT. Please be on time, or let the room captain or div thread if you may be late. If all agree, the room may wait for you, Within reason. Please remember we have drivers from NZ, and later starts mean a much later night for them.
QUALIFYING : 8:20 AEDT for 10 mins. If a driver joins while qualifying mode is active, room captains will need to grab a quick photo of qualifying results, cancel the race and then set grid by host.
In practice mode, once 10 mins has been reached, finish the lap you are on and park up off track. (Qualifying mode should be used so the room can be set to x0 tyre/fuel for qualifying)
YOU MUST START ON YOUR QUALIFYING TYRE
(SOFTS ONLY as this is the Sprint Round)

RACE START TIME : 8:30 AEDT (once qualifying has completed)

LAG ISSUES / ROOM RESTARTS : This is up to the room host/captains. If there is a Disconnection (or cars stuck on grid) at race start, it is sporting to try to get them back in, which may mean a new room to be set up. I always look at 1 or 2 starts if required due to DSC, but as it gets later everyone needs to be aware of getting things going. Please be as reasonable as you can with this....
SIGHT ISSUES: Ensure that you can see everyone on track. Before qualifying, exit to lobby and spend 30 seconds in spectate mode, scroll through the list of drivers on track and make sure that you can see their car. If you can't see somebody (and they are confirmed as being on track), exit the lobby, re-join, and check again.

FALSE START CHECK : Please note that the start type is Grid Start with False Start Check
Please practice this so you know what to expect. Simply, you hold the brakes on until the lights go from all lit, to none lit

TURN 1 LAP 1 : This has the potential to ruin someone's night if we don't use our heads! Should be everyone's goal to get through the first phase with ZERO contact. Give room and run in your 'lane' till you have space to run the normal race line. If your unassisted tap causes someone to spin, you need to redress.

TRACK LIMITS : As we are running with 'track limit penalties" OFF, we will run with our usual Raceonoz track limit regulations. This means you MUST have at least 2 wheels on the ripple strip OR white line that defines the track limit. If you do make a mistake and have to run outside the limits, be aware that you are not allowed to gain any advantage.
Please be careful cutting/running wide at T1,2. On the right hand side before T5 the tarmac where the short track connects is allowed 4 wheels over the line. Be careful running wide at T7, and cutting/running wide at T8.

CONTACT : Is to be avoided at all times..... If you rear end someone and gain an advantage, YOU ARE EXPECTED to give the spot back. Side by side 'rubbing' is racing, within reason, but all drivers are expected to give racing room.
If you bump someone and they end up off track or teleport back to the corner entry, you must wait for them to rejoin and get back up to speed.
Show each other RESPECT! It is difficult enough to drive the car at the limit on your own, without someone squeezing you within a millimeter of the grass.
So be patient and show respect to your fellow drivers.
If you are redressing contact, please do so out of the way of other cars, off the racing line, or if there isn't much room, off track.

    TYRES : Sports Softs ONLY

PIT ENTRY : The Pit entry is to be followed at ALL TIMES. 4 wheels across the line that determines Pit Entry will be seen as a violation of track limits and you will be subject to a penalty depending on severity and quantity of cuts.
Be aware that you need to slow more for T7 than normal to make the entry. Please ensure you slow down in the lane so you do not go off track and hit the wall or spin.
PIT EXIT : You are required to use the pit exit lane, Penalties will be adjudicated in similar fashion to Pit Entry. You should be to the right of the White pit exit line. ENSURE YOU DO NOT CUT THE LINE. Please be aware of cars approaching out of T1.
NOTE: Pitting is NOT COMPULSORY and as this is a sprint round you shouldn't need to do it

BLUE FLAGS : Please observe blue flags, and move out of the way of faster cars if you are being lapped. Failure to observe blue flags WILL result in a penalty

STEWARDS GROUP AND RACE PROTESTS : This season the steward will be @Hatfield. If you have reason to protest, please SAVE YOUR REPLAY, and then let him know via a PM.
DO NOT BLOW UP IN THE FORUM OR IN THE ROOM CHAT. There have been multiple incidents where the replays from drivers have been different, so its true that sometimes things are not as black and white as they may seem. You have until MIDNIGHT, Monday night to register your protest via PM. Stewards will ask for video evidence from both drivers or room captain to make any decision.

SAVE YOUR REPLAY : If the room host can ask all drivers to save their replay would be good before exiting the room.....once they exit out and the option goes, it cant be retrieved!

PARKING UP : If you are unable to continue to race, please enter the pits and leave your game paused without selecting tyres (or no tyres) so that your car stays parked in the pits. Parking up off track activates yellow flags in the sector, and even though penalties are off, we have reports of penalties occurring for passes happening near the parked car.

SPRINT ROUND : The sprint round is a half distance Race 1, then the second race is Reverse Grid based on previous race results. Race 2 will also be WET but the tyres used remain the same. If you are too aggressive making passes, especially in the wet, and make contact to make a pass, you will need to redress or face post-race penalties.

FINAL NOTE: Could all drivers please confirm their attendance for this Sunday by 'liking' this post in your division. If you are unable to attend, please post in reply as much in your division. This way we can figure out our reserves or if the room can start early in advance.
(ALSO IF YOU KNOW YOU CANNOT ATTEND, PLEASE POST SAYING SO, SO THAT RESERVES CAN BE ORGANISED IN ADVANCE)
If you do not post in your room thread or psn chat that you cannot attend, a spot may not be held for you for the following weeks race
