Bad strategy call based upon how the weather was going to act. My understanding was that the weather was based upon the host (it was the last time we had weather). Given the R06, R04, R02, R02 settings we had and the Custom race I did, there was plently of rain for at least the first half of the race. Instead what we got was a wet start, then by lap 4 - 6 it dried up and never rained again. I left the IM's on, hoping that the weather was going to change and I'll be a lap up on everyone. It didn't happen and instead the reverse happened to me. Perhaps they have removed the weather based upon host hidden numbers and now it is indeed random...?? Which is what it should be. Anyhow, Happy to now know that and it didn't hurt the end standings. See you all next season
I did enjoy the changing conditions and strategy that went with it. I qualified decently with a late lap after spinning in qualifying and the race start went ok. radar showed the rain going away but I didn't want to jump in too early just in case, so played it safe. Had a great battle with @Aiko_Mac and @T F Eccles and some others. Bad luck to @emmo46 with his contact with @xlxy90 . Some of us watched the replay of it afterwards and it looks like a racing incident. @emmo46 you should've kept going as you were still in 3rd upon re-joining I think. It took me a long time to completely get passed Aiko due to his brilliant defence, then after the second pitstop I had to chase down @doodah27 who decided not to pit again. In the end I passed him out of the final hairpin on the final lap for a very close finish for 2nd.
Well done on the title @Matthyus. Another night to forget, too many mistakes but good fun anyway. Looking forward to racing with everyone again next season
