Nice avatar. That's Grand Prix Legends in original skins isn't it? Lotus 49 at Monza? My first real sim experience... except I had no FFB back then. I have it installed at the moment, and with the graphical updates available, I still rate it!
And yeah, gpl was epic. It is still the hardest sim I have ever driven, and the competition lasted wayyyy beyond when I stopped driving it, which is a testament to it's quality. Were u around back then? i.e. near the start of gpl times?
I was at uni then. Just played it LAN with my flatmate. I was poor, started off with just keyboard, then got a Madcatz wheel. Didn't get into racing online until ~2006. AI in GPL is still the best I've played. And yep, still a very challenging, but very rewarding sim! Good stuff! P.S. your forum name is equally good. My nick name amongst some friends is "metal Dave", for my music interest.... Cheers!
Haha awesome custom wheel build! I remember being stoked when I could qualify first and win a race in GPL. There was no difficulty setting! Never used any driving assists. Even qual first, it was hard to get a good start off the line, would almost always loose a pos or two.
