I'm finding the RX7 only 1/2 a second quicker than the BRZ around Suzuka so knocking power off the RX7 for Div 2A would make them equal probably and I think the BRZ is slightly better handling so would still take that

Did a few more laps tonight in the detuned RX7, but not for as long as I did before.
Revised with updated times and reordered fastest to slowest:

Suzuka Circuit 2014 online lobby @ noon with RH tyres, 5/5 brake bias, no rigidity improvements and fuel depletion off:

Garaiya may or may not suit certain drivers. Personally I'd rather run that car for myself. Was some 2 seconds quicker than the BRZ and more importantly, more fun to drive.

DS3. Wheel is hooked up to my PC for Assetto Corsa. Still broken FFB though. Really easy compared to a Stratos Rally Car on dirt.....

    Done some testing today.
Garaiya is a bit of a hand full handling wise.
    I prefer the rx7 personally.
my times were in line with hats tests.

Despite Emmo missing me on his comment re drivers and "divisions" and after reading all the discussion I am really looking forward to this season as the mix of cars and drivers will give us both variety and also a bit of a GT feel as cars lap at different pace. Obviously huge discussion around an equitable formula for all but I am thinking greater clarity will come after round 1. i don't mind the race format either thogh I will miss an enduro. The thing that has me most intrigued is the strengths and weaknesses of each car as we move to each track. Power versus balance will fluctuate I am sure and that is good.

I do have an idea around success equalisation which relies on time penalties each race rather than reducing bup (which means driver has to adjustto different car dynamics on thefly (but won't post unless the bhp penalty issue is controversial.

Tested a detuned Garaiya tonight with @Joshboy1256 :

    Autobacs Garaiya '08
    509pp 339hp 1175kg [270]
    (*) 2:05.273 - although averaging mid 2:05s

I think Suzuka is most probably distorting the comparisons because it favours cars with good aero grip.
Will probably redo comparisons at another track on the weekend to make an informed decision on an appropriate detune amount.

    try daytona road

from memory the high amount of top end really favours the rx7

I'd use a smaller track with a variety corners to do these tests.. 2 minute laps are way too long and introduce too many human variables to give an accurate comparison between the cars.

By no tune I assume no changing of any of the characteristics of the car (ride height, gear ratios, etc.) and no modding (upgrading turbo?). Is this correct?
