Division 2 Season 8

and as for the Escorts i am disputing that bill.... one was easily 55 and freaked me out when she took her teeth out now the other one im sure hasnt been a woman all her life if you know what i mean. and maybe still isnt!!! come to think of it i only ordered the one. maybe the "it" came from E's pit. hahahah

ahh ... the podium that NEVER was... quite shattering really to lose 4 spots on the last lap; 3 on the last corner! With 10 laps to go I was quietly confident of hanging onto a podium but alas it wasn't to be. I was in tyre conservation mode from the start, and I was planning to stay out of any battles early on but got caught up with a few of you in the first few laps. Was great fun but not good for my tyre wear which may have proved the difference in the end. Still, happy that I could maintain good pace whilst looking after my tyres which will put me in good stead for the rest of the series, especially the enduro.

Stu, I will be interstate next weekend so scratch me from Round 2 mate.

Terrible race for me. No practice and things on my mind at the moment didn't help a bit. Off on the first corner and down hill from there. Aza... What happened? We needed each other to catch the pack and ya left. Oh well. Try for a better race next round. NASCAR tonight. Should be alot of tyre screaching, panel rubbing fun.

Hadnt practiced at all with the toyota till the sunday afternoon of the race, painted it etc then joined a room with my old Div 3 buddies. lap after lap was about 3 seconds slower (around 1:14's at the time), couldnt figure it out. Eventually tech pulls me over and tells me- Im driving the wrong car! Dammit GT5 and all your similar names, glad we arent driving skylines...

So change car, get back in feeling confident, E had joined us as well setting mid 1:08's. Damn, still 3 seconds slower!! I eventually got it into the 9's before the race but just did not have the pace here, whether its me, the competition or lack of practice i dont know but i will obviously have to try a lot harder with you guys.

The race was awesome though. Started toward the rear, good get away and kept up with the guys in front. Good tight racing those first few laps and was loving it (as I'd obviously had a pretty lonely racing experience last season). Wasnt used to it but didnt upset anyone that i know about. About 4 laps in in think there was an incident in the tunnel and i capatalised at the right hander after it and was suddenly 4th. Not bad for a guy with no pace.... But it all had to end sometime and car after car caught and passed me. But i got many good battles and repasses through the field, great fun with guys like barra and flood. Was set the finish close to flood but put a whell on the grass headed up to the final hairpin and turned around.

Set away still some time in front of Veno but was now distracted and he caught up pretty quick. Was again a good battle for a few laps down to the last corner. My dive down the inside didnt work and he undercut nicely to take the position again.

Great racing definately beats a pole to flag victory any day.

yeah I also had too many distractions my misses kept ringing me after the 16th time all my concentration had gone so I answered the phone and she needed me to come down I said to her that I'd finish the race but by the time I got back on track was way too far behind so I decided to pull the pin. I will be turning my phone off from now on when I'm racing.

Haha, that was me that told you that!! I came up behind you one lap and I thought to myself, geez your going slow!! Then next lap I looked a bit closer at the car, and there was no wing on it. You had the FT86 concept car, not the Sports G concept. Funny stuff.

And no offence obviously for last season, i think the car flattered me quite a bit. But wishing you guys a close competitive season. No one wants a vettel in their division.

Ouch, I just got burned!

Night started out well by claiming pole with a 1:31.351. Couldnt match the 30.9 i done in practice.

Lead for the first 8 laps with Zamps and Nugget right on my tail. Zampli got past me into turn 1 on lap 9. I planned to just settle in there for a while and try to put some pressure back on him. It wasnt to be though. Nugget lagged all over the place and brought me to a complete stop at the end of lap 9. I now found myself in 5th and 8 seconds from the lead.

With Dutchy on my tail for a few laps, i decided to pit at the end of lap 13. I wanted to try to make up some time by getting on fresh tyres first. I got past Stu and Cob. Flood was still leading and was going for a no-stopper.

Cob and I then battled for a few laps. He made a mistake into turn 1 and i was able to get away. I could see a smoke screen infront of me though. It was Nugget again.

Zampli and Nugget got past Flood and i was right up behind him on lap 24. We both drive past Nugget, whos car was on its side on the outside of a corner. We then both get nailed. Shunted sideways up the road. Flood spins and I managed to keep fairly straight with full damage. I then cop 2 more bumps at the next corner just before Nugget Disconnects.

By now Cob was back up behind me again. My tyres were fairly rooted from pitting early and being pushed into slides. We battled for the last 6 or so laps with me just coming home infront of him.

Zampli had a pretty comfortable lead. Should have been a lot closer.. Im not saying i would have won, i feel i was robbed of an opportunity though. Can't really blame anyone though. I've never seen Nugget lag before..

Well done again Zamps.

I believe i also got fastest lap in the race with a 1:30.532

just beat me to it Stu haha.
