Welcome to the RaceOnOz Endurance Championship (REC) 2018. The REC is a single series per year competition consisting of four 300km rounds, contested by teams of three drivers in BOP regulated Group 3 (Gr.3) cars.

Next Round: Sunday, 9 December - Mount Panorama
    (Open qualifying from 8:00 AEDT/7:00 AEST/5:00 AWST/7:30 ACDT/10:00 NZDT)
    (Race start 8:30 AEDT/7:30 AEST/5:30 AWST/8:00 ACDT/10:30 NZDT)

    Championship tables and results: http://raceonoz.com/forums/index.ph...durance-championship-results-and-tables.3291/
The RaceOnOz Endurance Championship is governed by the RaceOnOz Rules & Regulations and its appendices, and the present REC Sporting Regulations specific to the series (which overrule any RaceOnOz regulations).

    REC Specific Regulations:
    a) Track Limits: REC track limits are as defined by the RaceOnOz Rules and Regulations: "Track limits are defined as the ripple strips or the white line that defines the edge of the track. Drivers must have at least 2 wheels on the ripple strip or white line at all times. Any driver who INTENTIONALLY or "CONTINUALLY" runs outside these boundaries to gain an advantage will be penalized. Any penalties handed down will be the result of "conclusive" proof of any breech of the rules."

    b) Race Classification: REC is first and foremost a teams championship. Final race classification is calculated by the sum of each three drivers race results. The team with the fastest combined race time will be declared the round winner. Lapped finishers will be counted as 120% of their qualifying time added per lap behind the leader.

    c) Points Structure: All sixteen team entrants are awarded points for race completion as follows:
    1. 25
    2. 22
    3. 20
    4. 18
    5. 16
    6. 14
    7. 12
    8. 10
    9. 8
    10. 7
    11. 6
    12. 5
    13. 4
    14. 3
    15. 2
    16. 1
    d) Flag Rules: The REC utilises all GT Sport in-game flag rules.

    Team Applications:
To apply for entry to the REC 2018 season, please complete the application form from the link below:

Incomplete applications will be processed only after applications close. To guarantee entry to the 2018 season please ensure you have all the required information submitted before applications close, or until all 16 allocations are exhausted.

    Vehicle Selection Process:
Manufacturers are limited to a maximum of two entrants. Once the manufacturer has had their series allocation exhausted they will no longer be available for selection.

    Official Number Boards:

Series number boards are now available to use. You will note the inclusion of the Hankook logo. I will be making it a requirement that all teams run a control tyre for this series until it can be established whether there are similar differences in tyre performance between manufacturers as found with changing rim size. I've chosen Hankook to be the control tyre because they are not affiliated with any of the main series sponsored team, and have a large variety of decals available to suit most placements (curved, stacked, logo only, text only, etc).

For numbers, please attempt to achieve an 80% contrast with both the number board and the livery colours surrounding the board so that your number is easily visible. White on black, and, black on white is fine. However if you feel that the number is lost with the surrounding colours a dayglow yellow/green (HSB: 23-0-0) or red/orange (HSB: 5-0-0) works well too.

    Link to my decal gallery:
    https://www.gran-turismo.com/gb/gtsport/user/profile/1021604/gallery/decal
Alternatively you can find them with the tag 'rec2018'.

    Control Tyre:
The REC requires all participants run a control tyre to ensure a potential performance advantage is not gained through use of other tyre manufacturers. This is not yet proven, and only in direct response to the rim size performance variation. Any participants found to be in breach of this rule will be excluded from the race results and will not be awarded handicap points.

The control tyre for the 2018 season is Hankook.

    BOP Penalty/Handicap System:

To ensure performance parity throughout the season, REC utilises BOP adjustments based on race results. The first 7 finishers will receive 1 penalty BOP adjustment point per position from the the 7th placed finisher, while the final 7 finishers will receive 1 handicap BOP adjustment point from 10th. Teams must complete a combined minimum of 75% race distance between all three drivers to be awarded BOP adjustment points.

    Eg. If 16 teams compete, top 7 finishers receive penalty points (1st = 7, 2nd = 6, etc), bottom 7 receive handicap points (16th = 7, 15th = 6, etc).

BOP adjustment points can be spent freely by teams on either Power or Weight. Penalty points count toward additional weight or decrease power, while handicap points count towards weight reduction and increased power.

Teams will be awarded their points upon confirmation of race results. Points must be spent and lodged 24hrs before the start of the following race. Failure to lodge points by the deadline will see an equal split in adjustment carried out by administration.

It is both the room captain and drivers' responsibility to ensure they meet BOP requirements during official sessions. Room captains are required to screenshot BOP values at the end of qualifying and confirm values before starting the race. Any participant found to be in breach of their required BOP will be forced to start from the rear of the grid once adjustments have been rectified.

Really cool idea would definitely consider running in this however would it be worth having a driver ranking system (Gold,Silver and bronze) kinda like the fia driver rankings and have each team fill their lineup with one of each making it more even. Just a suggestion

Totally agree, just hard to orchestrate for a first season. Especially with new unknown members joining the league. Definitely something I'd like to do in future. Don't want to overcomplicate for now.

Happy to look into it, but by the same token I don't want to force people to work together or miss out entirely because we've exhausted the allocation for their driver level. This is a team game, and the idea behind it was to introduce a more mainstream sim-racing style series to the league. It's also going to help a lot of people learn aspects of tuning that they normally either wouldn't try or don't have time for in weekly series.

Let's see how interest plays out first and refine if required.

Haha exactly. I'd be more inclined to introduce BOP adjustments based on previous round results to bring back the field than anything else. Would just require a manual BOP adjustment setting. Not hard to orchestrate. Just need lobby admin to... well admin. lol

I'd much prefer to have a series of slower drivers who commit to the entire series rather than a bunch of sim-racing ego divas who show up whenever they like and throw a tantrum and vanish when they're not winning... *cough* Div 1 *cough*.
