The main issue I have with this is that: It has always been in the spirit of Sunday league to be a level playing field for all participants. Some competitors having a clear advantage because of equipment rather than driving ability would seem to go against this ideal.

I understand that people may already have some advantage based on their purchase of more expensive wheels, pedals, rigs etc. But that's not the same as some people having a clear advantage (half a second or more per lap) simply because their cockpit setup has a particular feature (in this case a clutch and h-pattern shifter).

I sometimes wonder if wheels and rigs are an advantage or in some situations a hinderance.
I see some quick people on sticks and after playing for years on sticks and moving to a wheel - I’ve seen no major improvement in times with people I’ve run with for years. At times I think I’m slower as I’m looking for that feel in the wheel I would expect irl, which will never be there and in turn will either under or over commit.

    Just my thoughts..

No matter what the ads say, the burgers are not better at Hungry Jacks, and the open wheelers are not better in the F1 game.

I think being in the Caterham will be a welcome change of tempo, plenty of brilliant tracks to race the car on too

I think from memory cars of this sort have never been done before, its best to at least try it ya think? Letssee how it all works out even if ya wanna be cautious maybe have a pre season round to see how people feel racing it for 8 weeks.

Problem is, everyone loves the car in testing....3 weeks into the season and half the entry list is claiming they will never race that car again :p

Aside from Div 1 and I'm not too sure about Div 2 but the common trend is full fields for the first 2-3 weeks then people drop off like flies

    Can't make everyone happy.

I'd be up for some open wheeler action for something completely different, unfortunately the consequences for contact can be quite harsh:
