    I'm in.

I don't have a preference on the car but I do think a mutli car season would be cool. Not sure if the teams could be made smaller, maybe teams of 4 and then each team is assigned a car at random for the season. If not random than maybe a vote within the team on the car choice after a week of testing before the season start

Could be fun or a disaster.:D

Actually the DTM's at Nords last Fun Run were pretty fun, enough difference between them yet still similar lap time overall.

FWIW we (in another league) did a multi car season a year ago with AC using GT3 cars and it didn't work out very well. The guy running it busted a gut experimenting with ballast to try and balance things but it was never right and no one was happy. Certain cars always won. Small advantages are magnified over a race distance and season. We ended up abandoning the season before it was over. Just couldn't get it right.

Ballast adjustments are absolutely needed or it's really imbalanced. It took many weeks of fine tuning before we were even close to *starting* the season. The GTR always won even carrying a tonne of weight, the McLaren never had a hope even with no ballast, the Merc was left floundering.

This example is just GT3 but in our experience it's going to be trouble no matter what cars are selected. Sounds like a cool idea, doesn't work in practice. Maybe it can with really similar cars like the suggested DTMs. Dunno. Just a warning it's a bit of a recipe for sadness.

Would love the current version of the 919 hybrid, unlimited as its no longer in WEC and set a new lap record around spa Faster then the f1 best.

The escorts were good fun and the 98t would be a clear favourite for me from that list, amazing car and such a beast. Managing the engine with boost over a race distance is cool as is managing the electric power in the 919 over race distance. The escorts were just very nice to drive in the last fun run too.
GT3 is fairly track specific and I dont think it really needs ballast, for what its worth when I ran it in a season I won using the 650's. The fastest car seemed to be the Lambo but the Mclaren is silly fast if you can get the most out of it. When we did a fun run at Bathurst I gave all the cars a bit of a run and I was fastest in the 650s there too but close with the new audi. All other cars were I think within 2 seconds on the full 24 hr layout so over 8 minutes per lap. ;)

Its true for some reason many struggle to get pace out of certain cars, but it will be track dependant and also weather dependant. Some work the tyres better then others, some can get softs to work others may need meds even for qualy. Over a race distance pace evens out more then over a single lap but with free choice in gt3 people can pick whatever car they want. If everyone seems to think 1 car is faster and another is clearly slower I would gladly pick the slower car and try to see if it can show up the one people think is faster.

Yeah perception plus individual driving styles has a lot to do with how people may (or may not) complain about multi car types. It's still tricky to get right with, for many people, a level playing field being especially important in sim racing.

I think we should mix up the format a bit- slowest half of qualli drives in reverse while being forced to yell the Daytona USA theme tune over Discord

GT3 is probably the closest field there is beyond single make series, I think only the old mclaren mp4 12c is a bit slow. The DTM cars are fairly close though for many the Alfa is quicker as its easier to get pace from but it also cooks tyres, there is more to it then single lap pace.

I did a series in the 72D vs 312T and even though many found the 312T faster again the 72D won most races. For me they really were pretty close and even if a car is a touch off on ultimate pace you can quite often make up that .5 somewhere in setup but if someone tried to get a gt3 field balanced using default setups they would be wasting their time pretty much. ;)

Same with any cars, I find if you put a few up to test and some guys try to get the most out of a few of them with setup they will end up pretty close. Its not like there are actually any prizes on the line and if there are a few cars to choose I would rarely pick the car I am fastest in if the others are close enough for a bit more of a challenge.

Guy called Wally keeps a good list here of relative performance of all the cars: http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/index.php?threads/car-time-ranking.22389/

GT3 cars are all very close, just comes down to set up and driving styles.
My preferance for the season would be:
    DTM cars
    The GT2 class cars
    Scuderia Glickenhaus cars
    Porsche 911-GT1/MC12-GT1
    Lotus 2-11/3-11 cars
    Evora GTC
    Porsch Cayman GT4
    KTM-Xbox R
    Huracan Super Trofeo or Performante

Happy to race anything though really

id be interested in something more competitive for us slower drivers and as long as it doesnt run to far into June as I'll OS watching them for real.. so id miss maybe 1 or 2 races so if spots on teams get tight I would bow out in favour of someone that can attend all the races
