    Guys and Gal.....

I am going to put the driver briefings in here from now on, rather than in the division threads.

Easier to find, once the div threads get spammed with all the general chat...If people cant find them easily they wont read them !

Ok everyone, Welcome to Season 4 !
Please take 2 mins to read through this, the first briefing is probably the most important ! There is also some added info under juzzys hot lap vid for anyone that wants some more specific track and tyre info....

All the standard stuff remains as it always had, track limits and race room etc, but just wanted to highlight that this car is much faster than any we have previously run, so please be MORE AWARE than in the past, of contact into turn 1 of lap 1. We have 3 capacity divs, so hopefully that provides some great racing. NOt to put too fin a point on it, i think we only had 2 protests over the last 3 seasons.....would like to keep it that way if we could ;)
Remember you must race and complete 4 of the 7 rounds to be eligible for the massive prize draw at seasons end.

ROOM OPEN : Most room captains will 'try' to have rooms open by about 7:50 EDST. Please be on time, or let the room captain or div thread if you may be late. If all agree, the room may wait for you, Within reason. Please remember we have drivers from NZ, and later starts mean a much later night for them.
    QUALIFYING : 8:10 EDST
RACE START TIME : 8:20 EDST

TURN 1 LAP 1 : Round 1 is generally the most common where we see contact issues, particularly if we have drivers who haven't done a lot of practice. If you are mid or back of the pack, please make extra effort to slow into turn 1 and not dive-bomb into the mid pack. Giving room on both sides till you get through Eau Rouge will see everyone get through without their night being ruined. Take extra effort to not ruin someones night in the first race of the season ;)

TRACK LIMITS : Track limits will remain as they always have, you must have 2 wheels on OR inside the ripple strips at all times. Make a mistake or 2 and thats ok, but making CLEAR advantage from cutting the track will see you penalised. If you do it consistently, you may even be DSQ from the race.
Is a few places here where you need to remain inside track limits.
    - Eau Rouge and Raidillon are the most obvious....Cutting on the left side and straight lining consistently will result in a penalty or DSQ
    - TURN 12 (pouhon) - running wide on the right hand side....
    - Exit of 18 (fast left on back straight) - is easy to run wide there, dont make a habit of it !

CONTACT : Is to be avoided at all times..... If you rear end someone and gain an advantage, YOU ARE EXPECTED to give the spot back. Side by side 'rubbing' is racing, within reason, but all drivers are expected to give racing room.

COMPULSORY PIT STOP : It is HIGHLY recommended you save a pit strategy from the options tab in game and select it as your intended strategy for the race so you don't have to do it on the fly while racing .... Remember that if you are NOT taking tyres, adding 1L of fuel actually makes the stop faster ! Tyres will be 50/50 each race and determined by each drivers need to take new ones if needed. you may mix tyres at your stop if you wish....IE hard rears and soft fronts, however i think if you need to take tyres you would be more likely to run full softs.

CAR SET UP : There are 2 options for car sets up that people can make.
'LOOSE' or 'STABLE'. It is up to you what setting you use, and it may vary based on the track being used. I would recommend trying both to see what gives the best lap times

PIT ENTRY / EXIT : We will be running with Pit penalties ON, so will need to make an attempt to enter and exit using the pit lane lines. We have seen people hit with warnings in game, so be aware of staying in the lane. DONT FORGET TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE AT 60KLMS AT THE PIT ENTRY LINE OR YOU WILL GET DSQ FROM THE RACE IF YOU GO IN TOO HOT.
    - Pit entry at Spa is tricky, make sure you dont get stuck on the wall and block the lane ! Also, there isnt a lot of road to get your speed down to 60 before the control line, do a few prac pits to make sure you get it right.
    - Exit is pretty straight forward. make sure you look for cars that are exiting T1 before you take your line into Eau Rouge.

BLUE FLAGS : Please observe blue flags, and move out of the way of faster cars if you are being lapped. Best to get off the race line, and with a small lift let them go, so you can continue the fight with those in your class. Failure to observe blue flags WILL result in a penalty

STEWARDS GROUP AND RACE PROTESTS : This season we will doing any protests just on our own platform. The stewards group will again consist of Myself, Ad2mny, Gary... if you feel the need to protest, you need to make us aware by PM on midnight Monday following the race. You will also need to have Video evidence of your protest, or ask the room host to have a look on their replay. You may appeal any stewards decision, and the final decision will be made by Koastr. If there is an issue in the race DO NOT BLOW UP IN THE ROOM OR ON THE FORUM.

SAVE YOUR REPLAY : If the room host can ask all drivers to save their replay would be good before exiting the room.....once they exit out and the option goes, it cant be retrieved !

Good job last week guys and Gal.....no protests from week 1 which was pleasing..
Just a reminder of track limits and contact on lap 1 of our races, were some close calls last week and the run into turn 1 at Fuji could end up really pear shaped for people if you dont use your heads.

ROOM CAPTAINS : Couple of things to look for.....
    - Please check everyone has the 98L of fuel at the start of the race before you press 'ready'
    - IF you have to restart the room due to DSC or room issues, and you are NOT doing qual, then i would recommend you turn fuel burn off.

TURN 1 LAP 1 : Turn 1 is a classic 'rear ender" if you dont use your heads here guys. Dont be the person who ruins someones night by going full ferall and trying to make up 12 spots ! If you are mid or back of the pack, please make extra effort to slow into turn 1 and not dive-bomb into the mid pack. Giving room on both sides till you get through Eau Rouge will see everyone get through without their night being ruined. As we saw last week, there were a lot of small mistakes that gave people opportunities for a result. Patience and smooth driving are gold !

Is a few places here where you need to remain inside track limits, however the track will self regulate (for want of a better term) with the curbs likely putting you in the wall.
    - TURN 3 (coca-cola) on both the entry and exit....is the only real place drivers can make ground or create issues for those around them....
    - wide on exits of 4 and 7 wont make you time, but dont cut back in front of cars that are on the race line ;)

    - Pit entry, very straight forward, make sure you stay in the pit lines though....drivers who straight line without an attempt to stay in the lines and are caught will receive a 20 second penalty.
    - Exit is pretty straight forward. make sure you look for cars that are entering T1 before you take your race line.

BLUE FLAGS : Please observe blue flags, and move out of the way of faster cars if you are being lapped. Best to get off the race line, and with a small lift let them go, so you can continue the fight with those you are racing. Failure to observe blue flags WILL result in a penalty

Good job last week guys and Gal.....no protests again.. great job guys.
Just a reminder of track limits and contact on lap 1 of our races, were some close calls last week and the run into turn 1, in the wet, could end diabolical. Trust me, get through lap 1 cleanly and you will be on for a solid result !

Some things to know and remember for the wet round.....
    - Track starts to dry from lap 10 to 12 depending on the room.
    - Look out for puddles that stay after the rain has stopped. Particularly at Turn 4 and also Turn 8, and the fast kink on the back straight. (turn 13)

    - Be aware that your tyre pressures are up on the start line, so it takes a lap for them to normalise. If you go too hard on lap 1 you will overheat the rears and then spend more time spinning than going in a straight line.
    - Be careful getting off the line. The car tends to spin in 1st and second pretty easy...Wont be hard for you to spin in front of the pack if you get it wrong, or if you defend too aggressively. Again, the challange for everyone is to get through lap 1 cleanly ;)

ROOM CAPTAINS : Couple of things to look for.....

    - Please check everyone has the 100L of fuel at the start of the race before you press 'ready'
    - IF you have to restart the room due to DSC or room issues, and you are NOT doing qual, then i would recommend you turn fuel burn off.

    TURN 1 LAP 1
: If you read the above, then its pretty simple, get through lap 1 cleanly, tyres will normalise, and you will have grip. Any contact in 1 will result in a spin, and a potential :):):):) fight, so again, use your heads and give room.

Is a few places here where we will check replays, so be aware of potential penalties.
    - Through Mercedes arena (TURNS 2,3,4,5) Particularly on the exit of 5.
    - The
    exit of 11
    - And the big one is the turns 14/15 chicane. Drivers cutting here consistantly, or to gain an advantage will be penalised.

The track drys between laps 9--12 so you will have to have the slicks selected in your strat.
    - MAKE SURE YOU HAVE
"ALL" SELECTED FOR TYRE CHANGE....NOT 'recomended'
    -
Some people were saying through the week that they dont know where their pit bay was. Make sure you have the PIT BAY INDICATOR ON, so you know where your bay is !

CAR SET UP : There are 2 options for car sets up that people can make.
'LOOSE' or 'STABLE'. It is up to you what setting you use, and it may vary based on the track being used. I would recommend trying both to see what gives the best lap times
    - Loose seems to be the best setup to be on. The car turns in much better.

    - Pit entry, very straight forward, make sure you stay in the pit lines though....There is some bug puddles on the entry, so be aware of that so you dont spin ;)

Not sure whats going on, 3 rounds in and no protests ! Well done everyone !!
I have adjusted the race distance to 25 laps, so fuel wont be an issue. It also brings the race back a little closer to 45 mins which is what it should be.

    QUALIFYING : 8:10 EDST
RACE START TIME : 8:20 EDST

    TURN 1 LAP 1
: SEX .... now we have your attention, this is probably the most difficult track to get through turn 1 cleanly. More important to give every one room, and for those in the back half of the field brake at about the 150 mark so there are no Liberace moments !

    - there isnt really anywhere to cut here without making up bulk time, which makes your lap time look like you've been shot out of a cannon ! (we did it last night !)
    - You CAN run wide on the exit of ASCARI (T8), as there is no real advantage, and you run the risk of hitting the sand trap....
    - the last corner (parabolica) there is no advantage in running wide, it actually costs you time.

25 laps means you will have to change tyres, and i would recommend you change to 'hard' front and 'soft' rear as its more balanced.... not sure they are faster on this track though.

    - MAKE SURE YOU HAVE "ALL" SELECTED FOR TYRE CHANGE....NOT 'recomended'
    - Some people were saying through the week that they dont know where their pit bay was. Make sure you have the PIT BAY INDICATOR ON, so you know where your bay is !

CAR SET UP : There are 2 options for car sets up that people can make.

    - Pit entry, very straight forward, make sure you stay in the pit lines though....the control line is just at the start at the pit wall, so make sure you get down to 60k before the wall;)

Well done last week guys..... 1 little hiccup, but other than that some good racing right through the divisions. SPRINT ROUND THIS WEEK, so make sure you understand how the race setup works for the reverse grid in race 2.
Couple of things for the sprint round...
    - you can jump into pits to swap to hard tyres for qual if you want. Personally i have been faster staying on the softs.
    - please understand how the reverse grid works for race 2, and the process for the formation lap (see below)

ROOM CAPTAINS : Couple of things to look for.....

    - Please check everyone has the same amount of fuel at the start of the race before you press 'ready'
    - IF you have to restart the room due to DSC or room issues, and you are NOT doing qual, then i would recommend you turn fuel burn off.

RACE 2 FORMATION LAP : Race will be +1 lap, so 18 laps..... race will be set up to start with no qual, and from the green light all drivers will stop before T1 and line up in reverse order from Race 1. (DONT JUMP THE START !) Once in order, all drivers will remain in single file, and remain at about 150kph till turn 15. Once the leader is at turn 15, the lead car will slow to 100, and then control the start, with no overlap until AFTER the start / finish line.

TURN 1 LAP 1 : Is pretty good here with a wide turn 1, and ample room through 2 and 3 on the run down to 4.

    - The 3 and 4 Turns must not be cut.
    - Turn 11 kink on the inside
    - Turn 15 on exit near pit-lane entry, must not run wide.

CONTACT : Is to be avoided at all times..... If you rear end someone and gain an advantage, YOU ARE EXPECTED to give the spot back. Side by side 'rubbing' is racing, within reason, but all drivers are expected to give racing room.

COMPULSORY PIT STOP : NOT REQUIRED FOR SPRINT ROUND

CAR SET UP : There are 2 options for car sets up that people can make.

'LOOSE' or 'STABLE'. It is up to you what setting you use, and it may vary based on the track being used. I would recommend trying both to see what gives the best lap times
    - Loose seems to be the best setup to be on. The car turns in much better.

    - Make sure you load your setup before going to track.

PIT ENTRY / EXIT : NOT REQUIRED FOR SPRINT ROUND

BLUE FLAGS : Please observe blue flags, and move out of the way of faster cars if you are being lapped. Best to get off the race line, and with a small lift let them go, so you can continue the fight with those you are racing. Failure to observe blue flags WILL result in a penalty

Hey guys and gal.... Sorry, this is late, life getting in the way again ! Well done last round everyone. Some great racing and the championships in all 3 divs are close. Again, thanks to everyone for almost 0 issues, and giving room / redressing where needed. Keep it up !

QUALIFYING : PIT LANE CLOSED FOR QUALIFYING. This is because the lap times can be corrupted by coming through the pit lane. This means that all drivers will have to run on the SOFT tire for the 10 minute session.

TURN 1 LAP 1 : Is pretty good here with a wide turn 1, and ample room through 2 and 3 on the run down to 4.

    - Turn 1,2,3 complex..... Easy to get wrong, make sure you dont cut and take out other cars in the process
    - Turn 9 (copse), is easy to run wide and gain advantage.
    - Exit T14 (chapel), dont straight line ontop the hangar straight......

    - Exit T15 (Stowe), dont run wide consistently to the left .....
Have to say everyone has been really good the last few seasons so not expecting any issues....people do watch the replays though ;)

CONTACT : Is to be avoided at all times..... If you rear end someone and gain an advantage, YOU ARE EXPECTED to give the spot back. Side by side 'rubbing' is racing, within reason, but all drivers are expected to give racing room.

COMPULSORY PIT STOP : As you know, most of the guys are running HARDS on the front from their stop, however i have done ZERO prac the last 2 weeks so i have no idea when the best time is to take them.....

    PIT ENTRY / EXIT :

    - ENTRY : Is pretty simple, entry is just before T16, on the right.
    -
EXIT : Watch for cars on the exit of 1 and entry of 2. Could be tight if you come out in traffic.

BLUE FLAGS : Please observe blue flags, and move out of the way of faster cars if you are being lapped. Best to get off the race line, and with a small lift let them go, so you can continue the fight with those you are racing. Failure to observe blue flags WILL result in a penalty

    Juzzy HOTLAP ?!

Where the bloody hell has that season gone ? Well done to everyone who has stuck it out, good luck in the prize draw in a few weeks.

A few small issues in last weeks race, thanks to everyone for sorting it out on track.
Best of luck to those fighting for the drivers championship. Its tough to win a championship, so enjoy it when you do, or if you're in the fight ;)

This week is the enduro round, and you will need to be on top of your fuel burn as we will be running with
FUEL BURN ON, meaning you will need to set up your pit strat to take fuel.....I will put up a strat i think may work based on some loose figures @Ad2mny and i got last night.....Make sure you are across it..... SEE NOTES BELOW

ROOM OPEN : Room captains will 'try' to have rooms open by about 7:50 EDST.

QUALIFYING : 10 mins as normal, pit lane is OPEN this round.

    ENDURO NOTES :
55 laps will be a long slog, remember will be a 24hr cycle, so we will have a run through the night as well.
    - Do some prac laps with a full tank of fuel....you will need too adjust your brake markers accordingly
    -
DO SOME PRAC TO SEE WHAT YOUR FUEL BURN IS ! I was running last night at 'about' 3.05L per lap, but will average up to 3.15 to be sure. Some guys are as high as 3.4, so if you dont have time to prac then i would average at 3.4L per lap to be safe on fuel.
    - Our fuel fill at the start of the race was 91.5L. Captains, make sure everyone is on that level.
    - For me, based on 3.15L per lap, i will need 173.25L for the race. Less the start fuel of 91.5L, i will need to add about 82L. Im not sure if i will 1 stop and add 82, or 2 stop, take tyres and short fill 41L per stop. Welcome to the strategy game ! This will be something to work through with your team mates, if you get stuck though let me know and will help you out as best i can.
    - If you are struggling to set up in your pit strat just let me know...everyone should be across the stops now, its just a case of knowing how many stops you are making, your fuel burn and how much to add.
    - Tyre pressures.... most of the guys are saying that they are trying to run their pressures in the mid 180s.... i have found that the race start pressures get too high, in the mid 190s, so i would recommend dropping them a little in your pit strat....Again, if your having issues just let me know.

BASIC STRATEGIES : BASED ON 3.3L PER LAP
    - 1 STOP - Fuel Needed = 182L / start race on 91.5L so you will need to add 91L to get home....Your pit window will be from lap 26 to 29....
    - 2 STOP
    - Start on 91.5L pit - pit end of lap 17 and add 45L - Will have 'about' 84L
    - Pit again end lap 41 and add 40L - will have about 48L to get home, should finish with about 2 laps fuel in tank.....

Hope that helps the guys who dont have time for long runs in prac.... If anyone sees any glaring issues with my primitive maths let us know and can add in any adjustments to help those who need it !

TURN 1 LAP 1 : Has been a bit of history here, the run into 1 is pretty fast and is a bit of a pinch point... be aware of those around you, and give room. We all know the drill.

    - TURN 8 has been an issue in the past, you are NOT permitted to run wide on the exit. You must remain on the ripple strip on the right.
    -
TURN 10 (bottom of the hill) you cannot run continually wide (to the left).

    - The EXIT of 12 (back chicane) you CAN run onto the green syn grass, on the right of track. Running wider than that (the concrete runoff) will be considered exceeding track limits.

COMPULSORY PIT STOP : As you know, most of the guys are running HARDS on the front from their stop, and i found last night that they were faster for me. The strategy game will be either a 1 or 2 stop, and how much you want to run the full soft in the first stint...

    PIT ENTRY / EXIT :

    - ENTRY : Is pretty simple, entry is just after the exit of TURN 15. Is a short run though to the control line, so make sure you dont cop a penalty for speeding on pit entry.
    - EXIT : Watch for cars on the entry to 1.
