Can only see this resulting in sandbagging and/or causing complete chaos during an official season but I’ll be in.
Its actually a pretty faultless system. Sure, there mah be some teething issues but overall I think it's a great idea and what Hat has created solves a lot of imbalance problems.
Even if you sandbag, we've got the divisional numbers to 'check' against to ensure that we have most of the racers close anyhow as a backup. So if even you sand bagged, we would still place racers in their divisions, based on previous pace in car / seasons. The idea is to remove the random winning by driving out of your division, like what happened several times in D2 and D3 last season by 1 or 2 racers. In those instances, if we used this trial system they would have raced a division / room up or higher.
