So quali on Monday night was fun!
@Noremac and I were in a bit of a holding pattern after the first 15 mins. I was holding provisional pole by .013 of a second without even looking like improving. I jumped back in to the pits and tried to find a bit more time somewhere. I made the cardinal sin of adjusting my diff settings by opening them up a little. Tried a few laps, got close to my set time.
10 mins to go both Norm and I are on track with
@Viperzed lingering around trying to steal a cheeky draft. It gets to the last lap. Norm gets over the line first to start his last flying lap, followed by Viper about a second behind and me behind him another second back. First corner I come out a smidge red on my fastest lap, nailed the sweeper for turn 3 and the braking zone to 4. Viper comes off on the exit of turn 4 giving me clean air to attack the last sector. Second sector timing was showing .120 blue on my best lap, beautiful. Mindful of not making a mistake I try and just tuck everything in cleanly. Get on to the final corner here I have had trouble getting on the power and I make it to the exit cleanly, no oversteer, no understeer, just power.
Heading down the main straight Norm mentions that I have been gifted pole by catching a slipstream from a GT500 car earlier in the session. He crosses the line going 7 hundredths quicker, his celebrations from provisional pole would be short lived after I registered a time 1 tenth quicker.
Epic session. Looking forward to the race on Saturday.
