You brute! Yep, the penalty system is broken. I only did the manufacturers race last night along with @Kephin_07 and was mostly a good race until I got a mystery penalty on the last lap too. No contact at all. Not sure if it was mystery wall or mystery car behind.
Excellent daily race. Guy in front qualified 0.5 faster than mint did. I tried. But big smiles nonetheless.
Probably the worst update to a Gran Turismo game since the one that removed the awesome hybrids in GT5. So from what I can tell almost every car handles like an FF now, massive understeer when applying the throttle even at low speeds. It’s so counter intuitve, and worse still the penalty system is still as broken as ever. Check this out:
@JonoStan96 looking at the side-by-side comparison of the laps, a lot of your apex speeds were pretty consistent. Your speeds at relative spots were the same as well. What do you think has changed in the physics update?
I wrote the following paragraph on GTPlanet: My impressions aren’t good. Long, high speed corners are now an absolute chore as it’s very difficult to get a feel of the front end of the car. I feel like I have to turn the wheel much more than before. Slow corners however, are a whole different kettle of fish. Brake hard, turn in, get it pointed then just mash the throttle and away she goes, no worries mate. It’s ridiculous and feels very unnatural to drive. It’s dull, depressing and lifeless. There’s no fun to be had. After trying various cars now, it feels like weight transfer has been changed to almost comical levels. It explains why the car can snap like crazy during braking, liftng off can cause the car to pitch dramatically, whilst accelerating the weight comes off the front tyres causing dreary understeer. The net result is hairpins, and other slow corners are much faster while high speed corners are quite touch and go. In the video I’m up on my PB on the new physics but old physics I make all the time back in the quick stuff. This is consistent across the board in Gr.3/4. I’ve seen videos of 330 P4’s and Shelby Cobras doing wheelies, not possible prior to 1.39. Overall, race cars all handle like FF touring cars now, even MR ones.
Thank you I did see your gear changes were different between runs, noticeably more so on the side by side comparison. Is this likewise a change since update?
