hey fellas, I'm gonna take a break on the dedicated simracing commitments... so won't be able to assist on the Mon/Thurs racing schedule... mojo is a bit flat with the current state of MP scene in ACC (even AC). I'm missing the find local pub servers where u could easily find 6+ drivers online every night and just do basic racing... just seems like tumbleweeds cruising past when I check online lobbies...

Me being me it'll prolly be a few weeks and I'll be back anyway... I love this stuff too much to be away for too long :D
I'll still be about, but just not full committed to the race night nights

It is very frustrating trying to get a half decent race in ACC on a non-rooz night, which makes it hard to keep enthusiasm up in between. The pub servers are poorly populated and I mean that in all senses - they are low on numbers and also proportionally high on idiots. I am still pretty new to this and I am totally OK with people that are also new and might make mistakes, but the amount of absolute...well you know about this already. Going through Eau Rouge or T1 at Monza in a pub server is a good way to lose 10 SA.

I have just started doing some SRS in AC when I feel the need and it is OK - not great but OK. The races are pretty good but the population is low. If 10 - 15 are signed up, 3 - 5 turn up to race in my experience. I am usually fighting for a win or at least a podium in these so for any of the experienced guys here, there will be no challenge.

I hope we get some decent updates, some improvement on the pub scene and that you are back soon mate.

Yes it's definitely a challenge to get any public multiplayer action with low ping and reasonable quality drivers. Was in a Kunos Spa server the other week where there was light rain/wet track and 9 other drivers. In qualifying I was the only person who managed to set a time - needless to say I didn't hang around for the race.

Hope to see you on the grid again soon mate

No worries mate, I did spend a few hours over the weekend in our servers and your singapore ones and of that I never had more then 1 other guy in and that was less then 5% of the few hours I was in. The Singapore ones I was just lucky to catch @Godzilla on discord just before he was leaving to have 1 race but all the rest was just solo running.

Seems making single make runs didnt help as we killed public pickup MP in the servers in just 2 weeks. Having servers in Asia also made no difference and if anything just added more servers nobody is joining and the lobby is really not helping us attract locals to our servers.

Hoping we get a few in tonight but If your not going to be available Thrusday I will move the Sprint fun runs to Wednesday until your back and able to run these. Pretty much impossible for me to make Thursdays atm and we will need at least one server admin on race nights, also Id actually like to race but nobody is online any other nights atm so we can see if Wednesdays may work any better.

Ah, that's a shame, you're part of that ROOZ top cream. Hope to see you back soon.

Having a bit of a think about this drop in numbers outside of scheduled nights, and seeing there are some nights better for some then others. As I will start running some races on the Wednesday night then there really wouldn't be much reason for @Rolz or others not to also run a Thursday night, possibly even a weekend though for me weekends are quite hit and miss. I'm less likely to be available each one but if there was a day and timeframe that would work for most no reason to keep the weekends from some good scheduled clean mp racing.

Also as we currently have access to some Singapore based server with @Rolz and @Godzilla both having one there atm. We could try some races from Singapore to be more centralized and get more people within an acceptable ping window.

To Singapore I get about 90ms from Melbourne and the only region outside of 250ms is South America with Europe able to get around 180ms to Singapore but 300 to Sydney. Having the servers open from Australia is mostly limiting us to Aussies, Kiwis and some from Asia but this is mostly a dead zone in simracing. Curently pretty much all new joiners on race nights get kicked as they are from Europe and 300ms+ to our servers.

If we were to test running Wednesday night from a Singapore server then maybe we will get a numbers boost as we likely wont have any ping issues for the majority of Europeans that seem to jump on whenever we are racing. The funny thing is they tend to leave it to the last second to join hoping to sneak in. I have no issues running with anyone but when pings get 300 to 400 its just not really possible to race these guys. Then if there were 2 Europeans in with a combined ping of 600+ they would have no hope.

Below is a general latency test between all AWS zones.

I still jump on most nights to random empty Aussie AC servers. After a while they soon start to fill and there is some good racing to have. If you see me online come and do a few laps. It's usually in the Escort or MX5Cup as they seem to be the most popular.
