Being this is my first season, I don't think I'd be a good captain (unsure of what needs to be done etc), and also since I'm in NZ, unsure about the stability of me hosting a room. I'd gladly host though in saying that!
well the meet n greet is on 20/10 and that is how we test out all the room settings, hosts etc so let's give it a go! we have had hosts in NZ before without issue
as for room captains, perhaps some guys who have been around awhile like @COME_AND_GET_ME7 @fezza @Easyprey007 ?
It's a but unpredictable on bieng able to race every race so not fair to put my hand up. But glad to help when I can
I've found that NZ hosts generally have more stable rooms as you have FTTP, instead of the backwards FTT...we aren't sure where
Happy to captain but won’t be able to host. My internet connection has been cutting in and out recently.
Welcome all to Season 9! Each week there will be a briefing for that Sunday's race, and it is important you read it and understand it. This Sunday is the Meet n Greet (MnG), which we use mainly to test the connections and compatibility of/between all drivers in each division. This Season's MnG will run slightly differently to seasons prior. Each division will have a room open whereby we will have 3 clean races of 5 laps each of the first 3 tracks of this season. I ask that EVERYONE be present in their division party chat, even if you do not have a mic, this will help with running the room. After the 3 clean races, will we split up into clean & dirty rooms so drivers can either continue with some quick clean races, or can let off some steam and bash each other senseless... After the initial 3 clean races, ideally we will split into: Clean Div 1-2 (host @Bluemoon ) Dirty Div 1-2 (host @Hatfield ) Clean Div 3-4 (host @Aza2672 ) Dirty Div 3-4 (host @T F Eccles ) Put your name down in the vote on whether you will run in the clean or dirty room here: http://raceonoz.com/forums/index.php?threads/gt-sport-season-9-driver-briefings.3851/
Looking forward to my first season here on ROOZ - been itching for something like this since I got my wheel again. You all seem like a good bunch Good luck all, Sunday should be a bit of fun!
Yes I agree it will be Fun, and yes a gr8 bunch to hang out with, its amazing how much you can learn and improve your skills over a few seasons. It makes gr8 racing when its clean.
Clean racing is what I'm all about. I had a great race at Bathurst this weekend with the guys, clean all around for me anyways, I know a couple had some offs - but yes, clean racing makes all the difference!
The Bathurst racing was clean, three of my offs were because of other peoples mistakes and only one was a dive bomb that left me nowhere to go but off track. In a season race I would be reviewing that and possible putting in a protest.
Sent everyone a friend request last night, ready for Sundays MnG - Look forward to seeing you all on Track! This is going to be a fun season, very much looking forward to it.
