Well, hopefully everyone is well and managing to get through ok.... Cant believe how different things are between the start of the season and now...... Lets take our mind of things for a while and do some racing !!!
The enduro is a tough race.... At this stage i have done zero practice so any advice in regards to strategy etc is probably best through your team chats...... We havent run this track, mainly for track limits so PLEASE stay within the bounds of what our track limit rules are.
I havent been around at all this week, but some things that will be relevant to this round and need to be on top of
- FUEL : you will need to add fuel i believe... I hope to get on tonight and work out whats needed. If anyone has a heads up on that feel free to share !
- REMEMBER THE x16 time progression.... it means there will be a night time run.... KNOW WHERE YOUR LIGHT SWITCH IS !
- We will check numbers again before qual and see if we can merge divs if needed.
- OBVIOUSLY there are lots of spots here that can be short cut .... I would ask for everyone to not make a habit of it.... I am asking room captains to make a call if someone needs to be investigated or penalised regardless if there is a protest from someone.
ROOM CAPTAINS - we will do a roll call before qual to see how many we have and if we can or need to merge divs.... IF we merge divisions, qual will go ahead as normal (with merged divs), but drivers will receive points for their DIVISION finishing position.
As stated before last round - a Reminder.....
- Drivers who continue to use their mic DURING the race WILL BE PENALISED. Turn them off, or jump into a private chat with yourself if you need to. NO MORE WARNINGS ! Also remember to wait till all are finished before turning back on.
- If you spin off track, Regardless of how it happens, ALL DRIVERS have the responsibility to return to the track in a safe manner, NOT IMPACTING other drivers.
- SAVE YOUR REPLAY. Remember, you will need to delete old replays so you have room. If there is an issue you need to protest, it makes it pretty tough if you dont have any evidence to back it up other than other drivers replays.
For our new drivers, please have a quick read and understand our track limit and contact rules.
- RACEONOZ have run track limits as the ripple strips or white lines on the track for many seasons. You need to have 2 wheels on those ripple strips or lines at all times.
- Rubbins racing as they say, however we wont tolerate 'rough' driving. See below !
- Car resets : You are allowed to reset your car IF you are on your roof, or stuck on a barrier. You must reset when safe to do so. If you reset in the path of oncoming traffic and cause an accident, you will be penalised. Remember it will reset you to the middle of track, so oncoming cars cannot avoid you. Its tough watching cars drive past, but don't ruin someones night.
- Room Disconnects : If you disconnect from the qual room, you may get back in OR the room captain / host may agree to restart the room if you cant get back in.
- IF YOU DISCONNECT, AND CANT GET BACK IN FOR QUAL, YOU MUST START REAR OF GRID.
ROOM OPEN : Most room captains will 'try' to have rooms open by about 7:45 EDST. Please be on time, or let the room captain or div thread if you may be late. If all agree, the room may wait for you, within reason. Please remember we have drivers from NZ, and later starts mean a much later night for them.
QUALIFYING : 8:10 EDST
RACE START TIME : 8:20 EDST
ROOM RESTARTS : Sometimes there are issues with the room and a new room may need to be started.
- If a driver is DSC from Qual, they may get back into the qual room with no issue to set a time.
- If they CANT get back in before race start, then the room host will restart the RACE room (no qual) and that driver MUST start from REAR OF GRID.
- Will be a ROLLING START with formation lap based on Qual results from qual session from drivers who finished the qual session.
- Fuel will have to be turned OFF
- Formation lap is from RACE START, and cars will form up before TURN 1. When formed, cars will stay single file till last corner, where lead car will slow to 80KLMS, and hold the field till they go. (effectively safety car). Once the lead car accelerates , all other drivers can assume that the race has started.
- No passing before start / finish line.
QUALIFYING - This season Pit Lane will be OPEN, so if you want to, you can take fresh tyres.
You can even come in and take soft's if you want.
RACE START - IF you receive a FALSE START DRIVE THROUGH PENALTY (IE jump the start), you MUST serve that penalty before the END OF LAP 3. If you don't serve your drive through before the start of lap 4, there will be 30 seconds added to your race time.
TURN 1 LAP 1 : If you are mid or back of the pack, please make extra effort to slow into turn 1 and not dive-bomb into the mid pack. The run up to turn 2 can cause chaos, dont be the bloke who swerves to defend and causes an accident.
TRACK LIMITS : Track limits will remain as they always have, you must have 2 wheels ON or INSIDE the ripple strips at all times. Make a mistake or 2 and that's OK, but making CLEAR advantage from cutting the track will see you penalised. If you do it consistently, you may even be DSQ from the race.
- There are lots of chicanes here that can be short cut. I will be asking room captains to make us aware of anyone cutting, and those drivers may be penalised without a protest from someone.
- TURNS 2-3-7-8 and then the final turns 18-19-20-21 please stay on the curbs.
CONTACT : Is to be avoided at all times..... If you rear end someone and gain an advantage, YOU ARE EXPECTED to give the spot back. Side by side 'rubbing' is racing, within reason, but all drivers are expected to give racing room.
COMPULSORY PIT STOP : YES.
- BE CAREFUL ENTERING PIT LANE.
- Up to you if you want to take tyres. If you need a hand to set up your pit strat please let us or your team mates know so we can sort you out.
- you WILL NEED FUEL !
If you havent done pit stops before :
- Make sure you know where the pit entry line is. you must be at 60KLM at the line or you get penalised.
- Make sure you have your pit controller activated. Is the guy with a big red board only you can see in YOUR pitbay
- You can adjust the following
- Brake bias (on the fly with mapped buttons)
- ABS
- Traction Control
- Tire pressures for tyres IF you change them at your stop.
CAR SET UP : There are 2 options for car sets up that people can make.
'LOOSE' or 'STABLE'. It is up to you what setting you use, and it may vary based on the track being used. I would recommend trying both to see what gives the best lap times.
- For me, the STABLE setting seems the best one !
PIT ENTRY / EXIT : We will be running with Pit penalties ON, so will need to make an attempt to enter and exit using the pit lane lines. We have seen people hit with warnings in game, so be aware of staying in the lane. The pit entry here is complicated, make sure you do it a few times so you know how it works !
DONT FORGET TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE AT 60KLMS AT THE PIT ENTRY LINE OR YOU WILL GET DSQ FROM THE RACE IF YOU GO IN TOO HOT.
- IF SOMEONE IS CAUGHT MISSING THE LANE, THEN GOING INTO THE PITS AND GAINING AN ADVANTAGE YOU WILL BE PENALISED.
PIT EXIT - Is a reasonable run into Turn 2, so you need to make sure you stay right until up to race speed.
Drivers on a race-lap will have right of way, if they are along the left side of the car exiting the pits.
BLUE FLAGS : Please observe blue flags, and move out of the way of faster cars if you are being lapped. Best to get off the race line, and with a small lift let them go, so you can continue the fight with those in your class. Failure to observe blue flags WILL result in a penalty
STEWARDS GROUP AND RACE PROTESTS : The stewards group will again consist of Myself, Ad2mny and Gary... if you feel the need to protest, you need to make us aware by PM before midnight Monday following the race. You will also need to have Video evidence of your protest, or ask the room host to have a look on their replay. You may appeal any stewards decision, and the final decision will be made by Koastr. If there is an issue in the race
DO NOT BLOW UP IN THE ROOM OR ON THE FORUM.
SAVE YOUR REPLAY : If the room host can ask all drivers to save their replay would be good before exiting the room.....once they exit out and the option goes, it cant be retrieved !
Any question re the above just shoot... We assume that everyone reads this, so no excuses for not knowing the rules and procedures.
