Division 4 season 10

Here we go.... Heading on for some last minute practice, hope I don't slide out too much cause still not great at countersteering with the wheel. I was nearly just gonna use the controller but the more I use it, the better it's gonna get I suppose.

Gotta win, gonna win, oh won't you please let me win!!!

Quiet race to round off the season, I am very pleased to take the championship and have enjoyed the season immensely. Congratulations Serg on the excellent wins over the final 2 races and I am sure glad you weren't up to speed earlier in the season. You will definitely be the man in Div 4 next season and I am sure I will have to race you again in Div 3 season 12. To the rest of the guys I have really enjoyed racing with you all and I can only hope the guys in Div 3 are as much fun.

Well what an embarrassment.

Did not qualify very well, which I was surprised about cause I was doing much better in practice just 1 hour before. Got off to an ok start and slotted in behind CWhelan for 4th place. First time around turn 6 got a good run on him and entered the corkscrew side by side with a little rubbing but he got the inside run for the exit and midron and raywat were right with us for the final corner. CWhelan and midron got in front and emmo was starting to drop back towards us but by midway through the lap he was starting to pull a gap. After the first lap I decided to take it easy but I started to lose time on everyone by the end of the lap so I scrapped that idea and pulled my finger out. Ran a little hot into turn 4 and then a bit too slow into 5 and thought what the hell am I doing, calm down, but on the entry into the corkscrew (turn 7) I put 2 wheels well into the gravel and turned a full 180 and deep into the gravel trap top of the corkscrew. Then to rub salt into the wounds, as I rejoined the track and come out of Rainey curve, I turned the car around again with dirty tyres. So that was pretty much race over for me and I disconsolately cruised around watching the gap to S_CLOSE grow and my championship hopes fade. Pitted around lap 20 cause I could barely keep myself on the track and come out between S_CLOSE and emmo46 and even with their nearly worn out tyres I could not get past.

To finish second in the Championship to a driver and top bloke like emmo46 is not such a bad thing, , and like he said, if S_CLOSE had found his pace earlier in the season, or if raywat3185 hadn't taken two races off, it could have been a lot different at the end.


Will definitely need more wheel practice for div3. Gonna go do some drifting to try get the hang of oversteer.

Also thanks to xsirdave for support and backup when I couldn't make it, and Qik666 for opening a stable room on a couple of occasions when we had guys with connection issues.

I look forward to seeing some familiar names (and Quadstretch ) for S11, and hope all you guys return for some more fun on the black stuff. And be sure to let anyone else you know/meet while racing online about us and get them involved the more the merrier Also get involved with car/track discussions and polls for next season the more feedback we receive the better we can make the league for you the guys who race it.

Thanks for the kind words fellas, I feel humbled by your generous comments. I have been thinking about the season and have a few thoughts, I definitely was never the quickest as I had no pole positions and only got on the front rwo twice, in the last few races I was only about fourth or fifth fastest in the race but still managed a first, third and second. Consistency was the key to my success. I look back to Monza where I was sure I was going to do well and I can see that I was trying too hard and was doing desperate things. What I have learnt is that you need to get into a rhythm where you are not taking risks but are lapping at maybe a 1/4 or 1/2 second off you best for the whole race and not losing ten seconds at a time chasing the fast times. Like ad2 I was under helmed by my qually ate Laguna, I had lapped under 27.5 only half an hour before but my qually was only a mid 38. I was surprised that got me on the front row because most of you can lap at high 37s or low 38s. With me it was taking about 7 laps to get the times and qually only allows about 5. Serg has the ability to turn on the pace and goet good time early and his first couple of laps in the race were inmpressive, he built up a lead very quickly.
I commend you all for a great season, Ray, you were dynamite over the first three races and I was sure you were going to come back and blitz us in the last two races, I'm kinda glad you didn't of course. Midron showed excellent form for a novice and CW has got the pace but not the consistency. Ad2 will definitely be contender again once he masters that wheel.
Finally a great bifg thank you to Clevo for his generosity in running the season with patience and good will, well done mate.

Err make that 37.5 at Laguna. I think if there were any 27.5s that would have been CW or Serg

Thanks Green dog, when you get your connection issues sorted I am sure you will definitely be a contender over the season. That pole at Monza stunned me and our battles at Tsukuba were good fun. hope to race you again soon.
