    Hi all
As always, this will be where the driver briefings will be posted.
Most of our long term regulars know pretty well what the go is at each track, but for our newer members, please take 2 mins to have a look through and see what is track specific from round to round.
These will have information specific to
    - Track limits
    - Pit entry and exit
    - Likely pinch or contact points
    - Strategy options
    - any adjustments to regulations.

Please dont rock up to each round and not know what the regs are ! Remember that we have a whole range of weather slots this season, including hot, cold, wet, clear to Heavy cloud..... Make sure you are up to speed.

That said, you will be in a team chat very shortly, so you can discus different strategies with your team mates, and if you need help with anything dont hesitate to ask someone.... Is a heap of guys willing and able to help
    Cheers

ok guys... Round 1 briefing will be posted below..... Further to above some links with all rules and regs....

    The main 2 things are
    - TRACK LIMITS. You cannot run off track to gain advantage. If you do it consistently you will be penalised or disqualified. Our track limits are 2 wheels on the ripple strips. You can be 'almost' off track, but if you have 2 wheels on the ripple strips you will be ok.
    - CONTACT and REDRESSING. If you knock another driver off track, dont drive past them if you have caused the contact. Give the spot back, and then continue your race. the 2 most common mistakes in contact are rear end contact where you 'punt' someone off, or if you get in too hot, and make contact in the side as they take their normal line.
We try to use the Supercars example with contact and track limits, so if you have any issues with this, please contact the mod team via PM.
    - RACE PROTESTS - If something happens in the race that you feel is unfair or rough driving that affects you or is against the spirit of the league, please save your replay and let us know through the stewards group. Dont crack the :):):):)s and blow up. The reason for the stewards group is to apply penalties in cases where drivers have done the wrong thing. Penalties can be anything from
    - a warning
    - A suspended penalty
    - A time penalty added to race time
    - A Disqualification
    - A suspension from the league

Our FULL race rules and regs
    http://raceonoz.com/forums/index.php?threads/racing-rules-regulations.70/
    http://raceonoz.com/forums/index.php?threads/procedure-for-post-race-complaints-or-protests.193/

If you see i have missed anything, or need something cleared up, then reply to the weekly briefing.

Qualifying regs : 10 mins - Pits Open
Start Time : 8:10pm Qualifying - Race start 8:20pm Sydney Time

    Welcome to Season 11.

With over 75 drivers, and 5 divisions we hope you have a great season ..... For our regular drivers you all know how the season works..... Not much in these briefings will change, for our new drivers, please take 2 mins to read so you are clear on what to expect, and what to do if things go a little pear shaped !

This is the first season we have run a multi make season, and from the testing it looks like there will be some great racing... A couple of things to remember with multi car
    - The car you race in round 1 will be the car you have to race for the whole season
    - Different cars suit different tracks, so dont spit it in round 1 !!!
    - The different cars do have different characteristics with wear and heating etc. you will need to test and find what suits your car in terms of the soft tyre.
    - Be aware of the different braking zones in the different cars. The Bentley is like trying to stop a large block of flats so dont run up other drivers backsides !!!!

For our new drivers, please have a quick read and understand our track limit and contact rules.
    -
RACEONOZ have run track limits as the ripple strips or white lines on the track for many seasons. You need to have 2 wheels on those ripple strips or lines at all times.
    - Rubbins racing as they say, however we wont tolerate 'rough' driving. See below !
    -
Car resets : You are allowed to reset your car IF you are on your roof, or stuck on a barrier. You must reset when safe to do so. If you reset in the path of oncoming traffic and cause an accident, you will be penalised. Remember it will reset you to the middle of track, so oncoming cars cannot avoid you. Its tough watching cars drive past, but dont ruin someones night.

    - Room Disconnects : If you disconnect from the qual room, you may get back in OR the room captain / host may agree to restart the room if you cant get back in.
    - IF YOU DISCONNECT, AND CANT GET BACK IN FOR QUAL, YOU MUST START REAR OF GRID.

ROOM OPEN : Most room captains will 'try' to have rooms open by about 7:45 EDST. Please be on time, or let the room captain or div thread if you may be late. If all agree, the room may wait for you, within reason. Please remember we have drivers from NZ, and later starts mean a much later night for them.
    QUALIFYING : 8:10 EDST
RACE START TIME : 8:20 EDST

ROOM RESTARTS : Sometimes there are issues with the room and a new room may need to be started.
    - If a driver is DSC from Qual, they may get back into the qual room with no issue to set a time.
    - If they CANT get back in before race start, then the room host will restart the RACE room (no qual) and that driver MUST start from REAR OF GRID.
    - Will be a ROLLING START with formation lap based on Qual results from qual session from drivers who finished the qual session.
    - Fuel will have to be turned OFF
    - Formation lap is from RACE START, and cars will form up before TURN 1. When formed, cars will stay single file till last corner, where lead car will slow to 80KLMS, and hold the field till they go. (effectively safety car). Once the lead car accelerates , all other drivers can assume that the race has started.
    - No passing before start / finish line.

QUALIFYING - This season Pit Lane will be OPEN, so if you want to, you can take fresh tyres.
You can even come in and take softs if you want.

RACE START - IF you receive a FALSE START DRIVE THROUGH PENALTY (IE jump the start), you MUST serve that penalty before the END OF LAP 3. If you dont serve your drive through before the start of lap 4, there will be 30 seconds added to your race time.

TURN 1 LAP 1 : Round 1 is generally the most common where we see contact issues, particularly if we have drivers who haven't done a lot of practice. If you are mid or back of the pack, please make extra effort to slow into turn 1 and not dive-bomb into the mid pack. Giving room on both sides till you get through the turn 1, 2 and 3,4 complex will see everyone get through without their night being ruined. Take extra effort to not ruin someones night in the first race of the season ;)

TRACK LIMITS : Track limits will remain as they always have, you must have 2 wheels ON or INSIDE the ripple strips at all times. Make a mistake or 2 and that's OK, but making CLEAR advantage from cutting the track will see you penalised. If you do it consistently, you may even be DSQ from the race. There are a couple of spots where track limits might be an issue at Zuhai
    - The EXIT of turn 4, you must attempt to stay left on the curb and not run on the cobble stones to gain advantage.

    - The final turn onto the main straight. You can run the curb, but cutting and using all the grass to gain time consistently will see a penalty.

CONTACT : Is to be avoided at all times..... If you rear end someone and gain an advantage, YOU ARE EXPECTED to give the spot back. Side by side 'rubbing' is racing, within reason, but all drivers are expected to give racing room.
Main spots are the brake zone and through turn 1, and the bigger braking zones at turns 4, 7,9 and 11

    COMPULSORY PIT STOP : YES.
    - Up to you if you want to take tyres. If you need a hand to set up your pit strat please let us or your team mates know so we can sort you out.
    - you WONT NEED TO ADD ANY FUEL !
If you havent done pit stops before :
    - Make sure you know where the pit entry line is. you must be at 60KLM at the line or you get penalised.
    - Make sure you have you pit controller activated. Is the guy with a big red board only you can see in YOUR pit bay
    - You can adjust the following
    - Brake bias (on the fly with mapped buttons)
    - ABS
    - Traction Control
    - Tire pressures for tyres IF you change them at your stop.

CAR SET UP : There are 2 options for car sets up that people can make.
'LOOSE' or 'STABLE'. It is up to you what setting you use, and it may vary based on the track being used. I would recommend trying both to see what gives the best lap times.
    - For me, the STABLE setting seems the best one !

PIT ENTRY / EXIT : We will be running with Pit penalties ON, so will need to make an attempt to enter and exit using the pit lane lines. We have seen people hit with warnings in game, so be aware of staying in the lane. -
The pit entry here can be a little tricky, make sure you slow enough so you dont get a wheel on the grass..Will cost you bulk time ;)
DONT FORGET TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE AT 60KLMS AT THE PIT ENTRY LINE OR YOU WILL GET DSQ FROM THE RACE IF YOU GO IN TOO HOT.
    - IF SOMEONE IS CAUGHT MISSING THE LANE, THEN GOING INTO THE PITS AND GAINING AN ADVANTAGE YOU WILL BE PENALISED.

PIT EXIT - Is a reasonable run into Turn 1, so you need to make sure you stay right until up to race speed.
Drivers on a race-lap will have right of way, UNTIL the turn in for turn 1. Then the car IN FRONT has the right to run their line.

BLUE FLAGS : Please observe blue flags, and move out of the way of faster cars if you are being lapped. Best to get off the race line, and with a small lift let them go, so you can continue the fight with those in your class. Failure to observe blue flags WILL result in a penalty

STEWARDS GROUP AND RACE PROTESTS : The stewards group will again consist of Myself, Ad2mny and Gary... if you feel the need to protest, you need to make us aware by PM before midnight Monday following the race. You will also need to have Video evidence of your protest, or ask the room host to have a look on their replay. You may appeal any stewards decision, and the final decision will be made by Koastr. If there is an issue in the race
DO NOT BLOW UP IN THE ROOM OR ON THE FORUM.

SAVE YOUR REPLAY : If the room host can ask all drivers to save their replay would be good before exiting the room.....once they exit out and the option goes, it cant be retrieved !

Any question re the above just shoot... We assume that everyone reads this, so no excuses for not knowing the rules and procedures.

you get last place points in order that you dsc (for multiple dsc drivers)
    @Bounty05

Also, if you get DSC in first lap its up to the room captains to determine if you can get back and they restart the race. Its a tough one, because more often than not it causes more issues than it solves.

    Ok guys, on to Fuji.....
Things of note from Round 1
    - 1 driver was removed from the league for abuse over the mic during the race and after. This will not be tolerated. There were other circumstances involved, but in short, this was the only response for this driver moving forward for our community.
    - Just a couple of incidences of NON REDRESSED CONTACT. If you hit someone and think you were in the wrong, give the spot back !
    -
HEADLIGHT USE - Our rules do state that 'flashing' of lights are not allowed to distract another driver. You are allowed to turn them on however. In qualifying, lights ON usually means you are on a fast lap, lights OFF you are on a outlap or slow lap.... Up to you if you use them, but if you see another driver with their lights on in qualifying, and you are going slow, please give them room.
    - REPLAYS AND PROTESTS - The replays have a habit of stopping at about 35 minutes of the race. I believe this is when you have bigger grids and the default size of the game save file cant fit everything in. This has caused a few issues in term of protests. If you want to save the lot you can only do it with a double press of the 'share' button on your controller at race start, and then will save the replay for the length of time you have set in your PS4 settings. Ill ask each div to have a post on this before Sunday so everyone knows. This will only save you point of view, but at least its something to refer to in case of protest.

A couple of things to remember with multi car

    - TURN 10 CHICANE - the curbs do self police here, but anyone caught cutting the whole chicane will be penalised.
    - The exit of TURN 15 - Is actually slower running wide there as it messes your entry to the main straight. If you do run wide there, be careful of cars on your left

CONTACT : Is to be avoided at all times..... If you rear end someone and gain an advantage, YOU ARE EXPECTED to give the spot back. Side by side 'rubbing' is racing, within reason, but all drivers are expected to give racing room.

    guys,
Just further to the driver briefing for FUJI.... generic message to all divs.
    - SWERVING
    - Fuji has been notorious for swerving on the straights, causing issues. A reminder, you can change your line once, but swerving on the straight to prevent the car behind from passing is not allowed.
    - PIT ENTRY
    - The pit entry at 4:38 is not allowed, drivers should be attempting to stay within track limits. The painted area is considered OFF TRACK
    - the entry at 9:30 is almost right !
    - Entry at 13:08 is perfect !
    -
Drivers who are found taking a straight line entry into the pits, with no reason to be on the paint, will receive a 5 second penalty added to their race time.
    HEADLIGHTS

    - A reminder that 'FLASHING" of lights to try distract the driver in front is not allowed.
    Thanks

    Tire Regs : Accelerated wear

    Fuel Burn : ON
Qualifying regs : 10 mins - Pits Open
    Compulsory Pit Stop - NO
Start Time : 8:10pm Qualifying - Race start 8:20pm Sydney Time
    QUAL - 2pm - Med Cloud
    Race 1 - 3pm - 12 LAPS - Clear / Light Cloud
    RACE 2 - 4pm - 13 LAPS (1 x form lap - REVERSE GRID) Med Cloud / Light Cloud
    [IMG]

    SPRINT ROUND !
For our new members, this is 2 shorter races, with the second a reverse grid. Details below.
Some points to consider from last round...
    - Just 2 protests from last round where drivers had time penalties applied. Overall, the room captains have been happy with the standard of driving.
    -
There were a couple of incidents late in the races however that were not captured on replay. A REMINDER, if you 'capture' your race through the share function there is more chance of an incident being able to be ruled on.

FOR OUR NEW DRIVERS PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU READ AND UNDERSTAND THE PROCESS FOR THE SPRINT ROUND !

When formed, cars will stay single file till last corner, where lead car will slow to 120 KLMS, and hold the field till they go. (effectively safety car). Once the lead car accelerates , all other drivers can assume that the race has started.
    - No passing before start / finish line.

QUALIFYING - This season Pit Lane will be OPEN, so if you want to you can take fresh tyres.

RACE START - IF you receive a FALSE START DRIVE THROUGH PENALTY (IE jump the start), you MUST serve that penalty before the END OF LAP 3. If you dont serve your drive through before the start of lap 4, there will be 30 seconds added to your race time.

    SPRINT ROUND PROCESS :
    - Qual : 10 mins as normal
    - RACE 1 : 12 laps as normal, HOWEVER no compulsory pit stop required
    - RACE 2 : 13 laps (1 added for the rolling start/ formation lap)
    - The room host will set up room for 13 laps for race 2 with NO QUALIFYING. At race start, Drivers will wait for Green light, but then form up in reverse order by the first chicane from the results of race 1. IF YOU JUMP START THE ROOM MAY BE RESTARTED BUT THAT DRIVER MUST START REAR OF GRID. Please do this by turn 1. Once formed up, the field will drive SINGLE FILE at approx 120kph, until the final turn onto the front straight where the race will start. The lead driver has control at 120KPH, and can start the race at ANY time from the last corner, to the start line. They MUST NOT accelerate then slow ! Once they go, they must continue......
NO OVERLAP / OVERTAKING UNTIL AFTER THE START FINISH LINE
    - POINTS : pole 1 point - FL 1 point - Race 1 full points - Race 2 HALF points. Points are accumulated for both races to get final positions. In the event of equal points, the higher finisher from race 1 will be placed higher.

TURN 1 LAP 1 : This track is notorious for carnage in the first chicane on lap 1 ! All drivers will need to be mindful of the run into turns 1 and 2 because if you get it wrong, i guarantee you will be a bowling ball through the pack. If you are mid or back of the pack, please make extra effort to slow into turn 1 and not dive-bomb. Giving room on both sides till you get through turn 1 and 2 before the turn 4 and 5 chicane will give all divs a great race.

Is a few places here where you need to remain inside track limits.
    - TURN 1 Chicane. Dont run straight through ! your first sector time will give you away ;)

    - Turn 4 and 5 chicane..
We all know the rules, so drivers are asked to watch for drivers who may be gaining advantage.

CONTACT : Is to be avoided at all times..... If you rear end someone and gain an advantage, YOU ARE EXPECTED to give the spot back. Side by side 'rubbing' is racing, within reason, but all drivers are expected to give racing room.
Main spots are the brake zone into the chicanes. There are plenty of places to pass here, and using the draft is a huge help to get a pass done.

    - Car resets : You are ONLY allowed to reset your car IF you are on your roof, or stuck on a barrier. You must reset when safe to do so. If you reset in the path of oncoming traffic and cause an accident, you will be penalised. Remember it will reset you to the middle of track, so oncoming cars cannot avoid you. Its tough watching cars drive past, but dont ruin someones night.

    COMPULSORY PIT STOP
    : NOT REQUIRED
    - You can adjust the following
    - Brake bias (on the fly with mapped buttons)
    - ABS
    - Traction Control

CAR SET UP : There are 2 options for car sets up that people can make.
'LOOSE' or 'STABLE'. It is up to you what setting you use, and it may vary based on the track being used. I would recommend trying both to see what gives the best lap times.

    PIT ENTRY / EXIT :
You will only need this if serving a penalty for false start in race 1. Entry is very straight forward as is exit. Remember if you get a drive through for race 1, you need to serve it before the end of LAP 3

    Round 4 - 7th June
    SILVERSTONE NATIONAL
    - Race Date -
    24/6/2020 - 49 Laps
    Tire Regs : Accelerated wear
    Fuel Burn : ON
Qualifying regs : 10 mins - Pits Open
Start Time : 8:10pm Qualifying - Race start 8:20pm Sydney Time
    QUAL
    - 2pm - Light Cloud
    RACE - 3pm - Med Cloud / Overcast / Heavy Cloud / Light Cloud
    [IMG]

Ok all, round 4 on a small track !
Things of note from last round....
    - Was 6 protests, 5 of which penalties were handed to different drivers.
    - Main thing was non redressed contact, everyone just needs to be aware of those around them !
    - Track limits, a mistake or 3 is acceptable, but continual breaches are not !

Things to be aware of this round
    - Is a strong chance with a short lap that drivers may be lapped with the pit stop.... Be aware of those around you and observe the blue flags if needed
    - Is a high probability that the SOFT TYRES will be a good option with the cold track temps. Talk to your teams, or test both options !

    -
REPLAYS AND PROTESTS - The replays have a habit of stopping at about 35 minutes of the race.

For our new drivers, please have a quick read and understand our track limit and contact rules.

    - RACEONOZ have run track limits as the ripple strips or white lines on the track for many seasons. You need to have 2 wheels on those ripple strips or lines at all times.
    - Rubbins racing as they say, however we wont tolerate 'rough' driving. See below !
    - Car resets : You are allowed to reset your car IF you are on your roof, or stuck on a barrier.

TURN 1 LAP 1 : Should be pretty simple, is run off room on exit of copse, BUT dont abuse it to make spots. The main hotspot lap 1 will be Maggotts, brake early and give room !

There are a couple of spots where track limits might be an issue at Silverstone

    - Exit of COPSE. You MUST remain inside track limits. Drivers running wide consistently WILL RECEIVE A PENALTY
    - BROOKLANDS - The left hander drivers can use the ripple strip, but must stay on or to the right of the ripple strip.

CONTACT : Is to be avoided at all times..... If you rear end someone and gain an advantage, YOU ARE EXPECTED to give the spot back. Side by side 'rubbing' is racing, within reason, but all drivers are expected to give racing room.

    - The entry here is very straight forward, however, make sure you use the pit lane line on entry and exit.
DONT FORGET TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE AT 60KLMS AT THE PIT ENTRY LINE OR YOU COULD GET DSQ FROM THE RACE IF YOU GO IN TOO HOT.

    - IF SOMEONE IS CAUGHT MISSING THE LANE, THEN GOING INTO THE PITS AND GAINING AN ADVANTAGE YOU WILL BE PENALISED.
PIT EXIT - Is a reasonable run into turn 2, so you need to make sure you stay right until up to race speed. Drivers on a race-lap will have right of way, UNTIL the entry into 3. Then the car IN FRONT has the right to run their line.

    - HEADLIGHT USE - Our rules do state that 'flashing' of lights are not allowed to distract another driver. You are allowed to turn them on however. In qualifying, lights ON usually means you are on a fast lap, lights OFF you are on a outlap or slow lap.... Up to you if you use them, but if you see another driver with their lights on in qualifying, and you are going slow, please give them room.

BLUE FLAGS : Please observe blue flags, and move out of the way of faster cars if you are being lapped. Best to get off the race line, and with a small lift let them go, so you can continue the fight with those in your class. Failure to observe blue flags WILL result in a penalty

DO NOT BLOW UP IN THE ROOM OR ON THE FORUM.

SAVE YOUR REPLAY : If the room host can ask all drivers to save their replay would be good before exiting the room.....once they exit out and the option goes, it cant be retrieved !

Round 5... wow thats gone fast !
Nothing really to report from last round.... Zero protests, and from what i heard the driving standards were pretty good, with drivers redressing incidents.

Things to be aware of this round

    - Dry to wet to dry race ! (in case you didnt know) !
    - Make sure you have your pit strat sorted. If you need help setting up please let us know.
    - The different cars have different strengths at different times with the track and weather evolution.
    - Make sure you know where the water sits on track ;)

    - REPLAYS AND PROTESTS - The replays have a habit of stopping at about 35 minutes of the race. COMPULSORY PIT STOP : YES.

    - you will need to take WETS anywhere from lap 12-15 depending on the room. From what i have seen, you will get to the end on wets, up to you if you come in to slicks in the drying line.
    - you WONT NEED TO ADD ANY FUEL !
If you havent done pit stops before :

Ok all, Things of note from last week
    - NO PROTESTS ! Good job, didnt even hear any possible protests, so either people have been redressing, or the driving standards have been very good.
    - Track limits - there were a few possible issues last week in the wet, however after looking at a few replays, and taking into account the wet weather, there was no gain advantage overall to those we looked at. There is possibly more advantage to be gained at Dubai, so keep that in mind.
    - Div 5 will re-run their race on the week after the enduro. They had a room issue, and the overwhelming consensus was to run the round again.

    - REPLAYS AND PROTESTS - The replays have a habit of stopping at about 35 minutes of the race. Well, cant believe we are at the final round of the season (exception being div 2 and 5). Its gone quick and i hope everyone has enjoyed the season.

Standard of driving been really good last few rounds guys, Make sure it stays for the last round.
Good luck to everyone who is fighting for a podium in the championship.....
Hope you have a great race....

    IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ENDURO
    - You WILL need fuel, but it will vary depending on the car you are in
The BENTLEY starts the race with 130L while the Porsche starts with 62L (approx). The cars use different rates of fuel, and have different starting numbers, so you will need to check your fuel burn rates and starting fuel so you know how much you will need to add in the race.
IF YOU NEED HELP WITH THIS PLEASE LET US KNOW.

    - Car resets : You are allowed to reset your car IF you are on your roof, or stuck on a barrier.

TURN 1 LAP 1 : Should be pretty simple, is run off room on exit of turn 1, BUT dont abuse it to make spots. The main hot-spots are pretty obvious here, 1,4,7,10 and 14.

    - Exit of TURN 1 is a biggie and i will be asking all room captains to keep an eye on this. Both the entry and exit drivers must remain on ripple strips.
    - Exit of 3
    - TURN 9 for the run onto back straight. Although there is sand on the right that will self regulate
    - The 13-14 chicane is something that i ask all drivers to keep an eye on. You can run the chicanes, but bust keep 2 wheels on ripple strips at all times.

CONTACT : Is to be avoided at all times..... If you rear end someone and gain an advantage, YOU ARE EXPECTED to give the spot back. Side by side 'rubbing' is racing, within reason, but all drivers are expected to give racing room.

    COMPULSORY PIT STOP : YES.

    - YOU WILL NEED FUEL !

PIT ENTRY / EXIT : We will be running with Pit penalties ON, so will need to make an attempt to enter and exit using the pit lane lines. We have seen people hit with warnings in game, so be aware of staying in the lane.

    - PIT ENTRY The entry here is tight with entry on the right / exit of turn 15. It is a very short entry, so make sure you dont get DSQ coming in too fast.
PIT EXIT - Is a reasonable run into turn 1, so you need to make sure you stay right until up to race speed. Drivers on the right will have right of way once in the brake zone.
