    Round 3: Brands Hatch Indy - 27 Laps x2 - 5:00 - 9/8 - Sprint Round
    [IMG]

    WELCOME to Season 12!!
As always please take 2 mins to read the following so you have an understanding of what is expected on race night......If you have any questions, or want clarification on any of the rules or regulations please ask!

ROOM OPEN : Most room captains will 'try' to have rooms open by about 7:50 AEST. Please be on time, or let the room captain or div thread if you may be late. If all agree, the room may wait for you, Within reason. Please remember we have drivers from NZ, and later starts mean a much later night for them.
QUALIFYING : 8:20 AEST for 10 mins. If a driver joins while qualifying mode is active, room captains will need to grab a quick photo of qualifying results, cancel the race and then set grid by host.
In practice mode, once 10 mins has been reached, finish the lap you are on and park up off track.

RACE START TIME : 8:30 AEST (once qualifying has finished)

LAG ISSUES / ROOM RESTARTS : This is up to the room host/captains. If there is a Disconnection (or cars stuck on grid) at race start, it is sporting to try to get them back in, which may mean a new room to be set up. I always look at 1 or 2 starts if required due to DSC, but as it gets later everyone needs to be aware of getting things going. Please be as reasonable as you can with this....
SIGHT ISSUES: Ensure that you can see everyone on track. Before qualifying, exit to lobby and spend 30 seconds in spectate mode, scroll through the list of drivers on track and make sure that you can see their car. If you can't see somebody (and they are confirmed as being on track), exit the lobby, re-join, and check again.

FALSE START CHECK : Please note that the start type is Grid Start with False Start Check
Please practice this so you know what to expect. Simply, you hold the brakes on until the lights go from all lit, to none lit

TURN 1 LAP 1 : This has the potential to ruin someones night if we don't use our heads! Should be everyone's goal to get through the first phase with ZERO contact. Give room and run in your 'lane' till you have space to run the normal race line. If your unassisted tap causes someone to spin, you need to redress.

TRACK LIMITS : As we are running with 'track limit penalties" OFF, we will run with our usual Raceonoz track limit regulations. This means you MUST have at least 2 wheels on the ripple strip OR white line that defines the track limit. If you do make a mistake and have to run outside the limits, be aware that you are not allowed to gain any advantage.

CONTACT : Is to be avoided at all times..... If you rear end someone and gain an advantage, YOU ARE EXPECTED to give the spot back. Side by side 'rubbing' is racing, within reason, but all drivers are expected to give racing room.
If you bump someone and they end up off track or teleport back to the corner entry, you must wait for them to rejoin and get back up to speed.
Show each other RESPECT! It is difficult enough to drive the car at the limit on your own, without someone squeezing you within a millimeter of the grass.
So be patient and show respect to your fellow drivers.
If you are redressing contact, please do so out of the way of other cars, off the racing line, or if there isn't much room, off track.

    TYRES : Sports Softs

    PIT ENTRY :
Please make an attempt to use the pit entry / exit lines. Failure to do so, where an incident/impede is caused, will have consequences
    PIT EXIT :
Please use the pit exit lane and be aware of cars approaching out of T1.
    NOTE: Pitting is NOT COMPULSORY

BLUE FLAGS : Please observe blue flags, and move out of the way of faster cars if you are being lapped. Failure to observe blue flags WILL result in a penalty

STEWARDS GROUP AND RACE PROTESTS : This season the stewards will be will be @JonoStan96 @Viperzed & @emmo46. If you have reason to protest, please SAVE YOUR REPLAY, and then let them know via a PM.
DO NOT BLOW UP IN THE FORUM OR IN THE ROOM CHAT. There have been multiple incidents where the replays from drivers have been different, so its true that sometimes things are not as black and white as they may seem. You have until MIDNIGHT, Monday night to register your protest via PM. Stewards will ask for video evidence from both drivers or room captain to make any decision.

SAVE YOUR REPLAY : If the room host can ask all drivers to save their replay would be good before exiting the room.....once they exit out and the option goes, it cant be retrieved!

PARKING UP : If you are unable to continue to race, please enter the pits and leave your game paused without selecting tyres (or no tyres) so that your car stays parked in the pits. Parking up off track activates yellow flags in the sector, and even though penalties are off, we have reports of penalties occurring for passes happening near the parked car.

SPRINT ROUND : This round is the sprint round which consists of 2 half length races, the second being reverse grid based on results from the first. PLEASE BE ESPECIALLY CAREFUL with the second race with your overtakes and remember to redress incidents you cause. Points are allocated as normal for race 1 and then halved for race 2. These points are then added together and a round order is organised. This round order is then allocated championship points.

FINAL NOTE: Could all drivers please confirm their attendance for this Sunday by 'liking' this post in your division. If you are unable to attend, please post in reply as much in your division. This way we can figure out our reserves or if the room can start early in advance.
(ALSO IF YOU KNOW YOU CANNOT ATTEND, PLEASE POST SAYING SO, SO THAT RESERVES CAN BE ORGANISED IN ADVANCE)

Can you please be more specific about track limits on Graham Hill Bend? A screenshot would be nice. I've seen a few go wide here and there is advantage to be gained

Another could, woulda, shoulda race for me.
    Qual'ed well in 3rd.
Held 2nd, kinda keeping tabs on @incey, until I finally had a major off out of druids...
Was catching @pat65 fast, but ran outta laps.
Race 2 - Started mid pack, knew that was going to be sketchy, but managed to keep it clean and had a stonking race with @pat65 for what felt like half the race. @UrsineSaturn9 came and joined the party too :)
Finally managed to pass pat and made my way up to @Ian Cannan who either had a sketchy corner or let me pass, either or, I didn't mind. Thanks champ :D
@emmo46 was up ahead, but me tyres were on their way out, so I couldn't throw the car around too much.
Slowly clawed my way to him, but it was a little too late once again.

Un-official results, put me 5th, that's constant improvement over 3 races!!
    See you next week.

Pretty fun racing again. Qualifying in 7th finished first race in 3rd and the second race in 6th. Couldn't be separated from @UrsineSaturn9 yet again, sorry for the bump into t1 on lap 26 of race 2 that was my fault.

Another cracker couple of races. Managed to set my fastest lap ever in Qually but still only good enough for 11th (bloody tight field). Race 1 was great fun, those opening laps with 12 cars nose to tail was absolutely mental. Once everything had settled down I was in 11th but a few spins to the guys in front put me 9th. Ended up in an almighty scrap with @kiwinado in the closing laps, and with a couple of laps left managed to squeeze past when we both made a bit of a detour through the grass!

Race 2, the start was a bit of a clanger, I felt like a bit of a pinball bouncing around as everyone tried to find a bit of real estate all through the first lap and dropped from 5th to 10th again. From there just like Race 1 it was all about clean laps, again benefiting from a few clashes in front of me, and again ending up glued to the rear bumper of kiwinado. Unfortunately another epic scrap was cut short when he made a mistake and from there it was a pretty quiet run home to 7th.

Awesome close racing again tonight everyone, kudos for all your efforts in the opening laps to keep things clean and fair, it certainly wasn't easy but from what I saw and heard through both races there was lots of good, hard, and clean racing. Bring on next Sunday!

Yep, race 2 was epic fun and great little battle between @Matthyus @pat65 and @Kieran_B33 (see video below). Near had @Ian Cannan too, but yeah, lost a bit of time with the punt and ran out of laps to bridge the gap again. No hard feelings @Kieran_B33. Think with a P2 and P5 puts me provisionally at P2 overall so pretty pleased with that!

What an interesting night it was! 0.488 seconds separating 1st to last in qualifying, shows just how tight things were. I think all in all, the racing was pretty tidy from what I could see - albeit a few pushes and such, but it's to be expected around such a short, tight track.

Qualifying in 2nd, I had high hopes that I would be able to keep up with incey, and have an intense race throughout - unfortunately I touched the grass coming out of turn 3, which put me behind everyone as the train choo choo'd past. This wasn't the only time unfortunately as I was making progress when Chatwin let me through, only to do the same thing 2 laps later... this put me at the back with Emmo from his technical issue, to which we had a good battle to the end keeping us on our toes.

2nd race, starting up the front I knew was going to be intense. Emmo and myself quickly rounded Whizz in the first few turns, and managed a slight gap from the pack. He sat about 1 second behind me for quite a while, and tell you what, the pressure from that had me sweating. After a while I noticed he had dropped back to 5 seconds due to a slight mistake, and I felt a bit calmer and carried on. Took it easy and ensured I didn't make any mistakes like the first race to come home with 1st. Pretty happy with that result, and also happy the race was over!

Bring on RBR - the last of the 'short' tracks for this season.

Pretty happy with how that went last night. When I jumped in the room and saw everyone churning out sub 51s I was a bit worried as I hadn't got under 51 very often in the couple of pracitices I'd had. My accelerator readout was fluttering so I dumped half of a tin CRC 2.26 into it and started to find some good times. Going into qually my PB was 50.8 with optimal 50.6 so I knew if I nailed a lap I'd be in with a shot. The 50.6 came pretty quickly so it was agonising watching the new times roll in throughout qually.
I thought it all the qually work was out the window in turn 2 when johhno gives me a big tickle up but luckily I held it straight enough so that only emmo got through. I followed him for a while looking for an opportunity to pass as we pulled away a bit. No gaps were forthcoming til he drifted wide on turn one with equipment failure. YAY says me quickly followed by OH SH*T when he came spearing back onto the track unghosted. The closest near miss you will ever see on a video occurred and I was in the clear. Kept it clean, pulled a FL .02 different to qually lap to prove it wasn't a fluke and cruised to victory.
Race 2 was a dfiferent story. Stuffed the start, made up a few places over the next couple of laps then hit my teammate off. Sorry @Max Gassit . Lost all the ground I'd made redressing and tried again. Made a few spots again but it is so hard to pass there that I basically just settled in to finish it. Eventually a couple of little errors appreared ahead and I may have just picked up enough places to get the win overall. Still don't know for sure.
Pretty good night of racing overall and can't wait to see how the tables look when the numbers come in.

    Righto Gents of Div 3

I am thinking for those of us that can race on Fathers day evening (since there is no season racing on the night) we have a fun night - same car - the TC - but a full length race at Mt Panorama - I know not all of you like the track, and may not be able to race on fathers day - but I think it could be a bit of fun. Like this post to show your interest, and when we get to the week of the race we'll get some more details.

Just an idea that has been thrown around - thoughts?

A bit of food for thought from the Brands Hatch race re track limits.
At G Hill bend it was often the case that carrying a good corner speed would see the car run outside the ripple strip.
    Race 1 had 47 instances.
    Race 2 had 60.
Where all 4 wheels were off the ripple strip. The count doesn't include include wide exits due to contact.
2 to 3 tenths gain per lap was possible. Same with qualifying.
    Stewards response...?

If you're asking for stewards response I think this should be done via the protest procedure

I've msg'd a steward. It was also for the drivers to perhaps get them to have a look at the situation and perhaps modify the driving so it maintains a good sense of fairness in competing.
