Bathurst 1000 Tribute - 2020
It’s almost Bathurst Sunday, so it is time for the 2nd ROOZ Bathurst Tribute race.
I did make an error in the handicapping of the first edition. I did this through following the format too closely of the only other ROOZ Time Handicapped race, the prestigious ROC.
There were 3 different Divisions represented on the podium last year, but an adjustment will be made to enable hopefully more drivers to be “in it” at the pointy end of the race. No two drivers will start at the same handicap time, this should avoid the disadvantage of traffic and battling early, that mainly adversely affected the front row last year.
I have extra info for my handicapping this year with the driver ratings in Vardz series along with Jono’s I utilized last year. There will be some Bathurst adjustment like last year via ROOZ races there. As with last year, all handicaps will be transparent and will have fluid adjustment as entries come in. Scrutiny and helpful input to the handicapping from all involved would be appreciated.
This year there will be move up in category to the G3 Mustang, like last year I have fiddled with the weight and power of the car to improve the performance/handling.
It would be awesome to have a full grid of 16 again to race on Bathurst night.

**Can we be please err to being over respectful on track to eachother in both rooms/races.
This especially please for the higher Divs toward lower Divs and even visa versa.
Be smart, battling won't help at any time in this race apart from the last few laps.
Better to try and stay in a slipstream to save fuel, or work together bump drafting, than to battle or defend which will only cost you time.
Also the specs have been set to open up a myriad of pit options for strategy/avoiding traffic.
Your starting time/handicap is your responsibility to know, and to start at that time, not before.
It is an honor system that can easily be checked after the race.
