Hey all, I'm looking to get rid of my Playseat alcantara at the end of the year for something more stronger & better quality. I'm also going to move my rig into my room so I can have my own space. I'm also looking to bolt my 55 inch Samsung TV onto a stand for a cleaner look. Just unsure what rig to get out of these two (Next Level Racing GTtrack) or the (Trak Racer TR8) Any suggestions on other rigs & other information would be great. Thanks!

personally I would recommend going something with more of a 8020 frame design, such as these https://www.trakracer.com.au/tr80-cockpit/cockpits/
I went sim-lab but only because trakracer didn't have a presence with that design here in Australia at the time when I was looking to buy... I only say this because if you wish to expand/customise it's a lot easier... Obviously everyone has their own personal preferences... :)

Cheers mate. I'm most likely going to order the rig soon. Really looking forward to the upgrade if all goes well.

Depends what wheel you have or what you might have in the future too. I have the TR8 with the podium and although I don't think you lose much of the FFB to flex, probably none, the vibrations bounce it around a bit. I'd go the TR80 or 160 if I was buying again

I’ve currently got a CSL Elite & Clubsport V3 pedals. Shouldn’t be an issue at all. I’m also looking to upgrade to a DD sometime in the future.

Possibly the wrong place to ask, but any suggestions for an off-the-shelf DD rig? (Asking for a friend...)

Currently looking at a NLR or Trak Racer as they seem to have most local support in Australia.

I think I'm finally at the point now where I can show this off properly. For rigs I started out with a PVC pipe rig, then onto a wheel stand that was donated by @stucar17, then onto this NLR F-GT cockpit. My first wheel was a Thrustmaster T80, which I believe was also donated by Stu (and has since been donated to another member), then onto a Logitech G29 which was sold to me by @v8power383 when he moved onto a better setup. Now for the current setup...

    PC:
    • AMD 5600X
    • RTX 3070
    • Gigabyte b550m DS3H motherboard
    • Corsair Vengeance 32GB RAM @3600mHz
    • 1x WD 1TB m.2 nvme SSD
    • 1x Crucial 2TB m.2 nvme SSD
    • Kogan 34" ultrawide monitor (3440x1440p, 144Hz)
    • HP Reverb G2 VR headset
    • Custom built tofu84 keyboard (for desk) and MS media keyboard with trackpad (for cockpit)
    • SteelSeries Rival 3 mouse
    • Xbox controller
    • PS5 controller
    • Logitech G933 wireless headphones

    Cockpit:
    • NLR F-GT cockpit (formula position)
    • Thrustmaster TS-PC Ferrari 488 edition wheel
    • Thrustmaster T-LCM pedals
    • Fanatec Clubsport SQ v1.5 shifter (sequential mode mostly)
    • Fanatec Clubsport v1.5 handbrake (vertical)
    • Custom 3D printed extension plate for shifter mounting to bring it closer to me (common issue in formula position which I use)
Because I only use one monitor at the moment I have an adjustable arm so it can swing over in front of the cockpit, but I mainly use the VR headset unless a game doesn't support it. The most recent additions are the shifter and handbrake, and once I stop instinctively keep going for the paddle shifters and go for the SQ instead I'll be golden. While the Thrustmaster gear isn't super fancy the jump in quality from the G29 to it was astronomical and I'm really enjoying it.

    • Get the Imgur app
    • Create account / sign in
    • Tap the + icon, choose you photo(s) and privacy settings and upload
    • View the image and copy the direct link URL
    • In ROOZ tap the image icon at top of the compose window, paste your URL, click OK and you're good to go

Make sure you view the image in the app first before tapping the Share icon to get the URL so it looks something like this: https://i.imgur.com/xQy1tbq.jpg
If you don't do that and just tap Share from the preview the link will look like this and not work: https://imgur.com/xQy1tbq

I've got the same wheel stand and use a cloth belt to strap the stand to the chair to reduce movement under heavy breaking. I'm using T-LCM's with a load cell though.

And what on earth is on that calendar?!
