Unfortunately, I disconnected in between races, so my end result won't be indicative of how happy I was with Race 1. Qualified 11th, finished 6th. I even caught up with 4th place. Jim was in my rear view for like 10 laps. I nearly let him pass because the pressure was intense. I didn't need to, I had a minor mistake on the last lap to let Jim pass. Looking at how close Jim and Britz were, I could have finished 4th. I guess my struggles last week were track related because I raced as well as I can race tonight
Absolutely gutted in race 1. Mismanaged my fuel over the race, would have been by shy half a lap of fuel by the time I realised so had to pit of last lap. Would have been on for P3. Good race all
Quali was tight, took me until the final lap to get it right. Race one, got a good, clean start. @Dash_Vanguard almost got ahead of me in the first few laps as I was struggling to settle in and find some pace. I was sorry to see Dash DSC a few laps later, probably would've had at least 2nd. I'm disappointed with myself in the reverse grid race. I owe an apology to @webnomad, I was impatient and went for a move that I shouldn't have. Accidentally gave just a little tap on lap 3 and sent him spinning into the wall. Sorry Web for ruining your race, I feel really bad and I'll try to be better and more careful next time. After, I redressed this incident which cost about 15 seconds, so I had some catching up to do. Managed P8 which I'm happy enough with, but definitely left a lot of time on the table. Also, I'm not sure if it was just me, but after a very long load time for race 2, my first few laps had big frame drops and even distracting background music playing which really put me off in those opening laps.
Sounds like you've improved from back when you said you'd struggle with this sort of thing. Keeping someone right behind you for 10 laps is not easy. I'd probably mess that up eventually. Good to see.
thanks for the sentiments @ControllaGod ... I appreciate them, and the fact.that you hanged around until.i got.myself.out of.the.wall. For me, this run in was like 4th or 5th.. starting in quali actually...with no re-dresses before this, so I had enough for this night....congrats to the podium...and I hope we will have cleaner racing at Spa.
I just tried to ignore him and just run my race. I feel like he was faster than me but did well not to run up my ass going into a turn. He didn't have any clean passing opportunities. I'd love to read his thoughts on that chunk of the race
Hi all, Couple tweaks to the rest of the season. Firstly, Thanks to some strong feedback, I've moved Round 5 from Grand Valley South Reverse, to Highway 1. This will be the FINAL change made to the layouts this season. The mandatory tire change rule has been tweaked. During a race it is mandatory that AT LEAST TWO of these FOUR COMPOUNDS are used. RM, RS, IM and W. The only time this rule does not apply will be if you start on Intermediates or Wets, you are then permitted to run the entire races on one compound, however are still required to make a mandatory pit stop.
Hi guys, can I get some clarity around the points as I may have missed it across the various threads. The points attribution for last weeks Deep Forest sprints. Both sprints accumulated points per the race results, however on the championship standings they don't seem to have been brought across, only the first sprint's points? Thanks in advance
In normal (45-minute) and endurance rounds, championship points (25-20-16-13-11-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1-0) are awarded directly based on your race result, with an extra point awarded for both Pole Position and Fastest Lap during the race. In sprint rounds it's a little different. You score (for want of a better term) "round points" in each race. Race 2 being half points as it is a reverse-grid race: These points are then added together. The driver with the most "round points" will then be awarded 25 championship points. The driver with 2nd most points will score 20, and so on. Whoever gets Pole position for Race 1 will get an extra championship point, and whoever scores the fastest lap time across both races will score a championship point.
Round 3: 06/08 - Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps 24h Layout - 20 Laps - Custom Weather - Early Dawn - 10x WELCOME to Season 6 for Gran Turismo 7!! As always please take a couple minutes to read the following so you have an understanding of what is expected on race night. If you have any questions, or want clarification on any of the rules or regulations please ask! ROOM OPEN: Room captains may have practice rooms open beforehand but should have the official room up by 7:30pm AEST. Please be on time, or let the room captain or div thread know if you may be late. If all agree, the room may wait for you, Within reason. Please remember we have drivers from NZ, and later starts mean a much later night for them. SIGHT ISSUES: Before qualifying, exit to lobby and spend 30 seconds in spectate mode, scroll through the list of drivers on track and make sure that you can see their car. If you can't see somebody (and they are confirmed as being on track), exit the lobby, re-join, and check again. Type the number of cars you can see in the lobby chat and cross check with other drivers to ensure clarity. QUALIFYING : 8pm AEST for 10 mins. Feel free to run practice laps prior to qualifying, The host will trigger a 'Room Reset' closer to the commencement of Qualifying. PITS ARE OPEN DURING QUALIFYING RACE START TIME : 8:15pm AEST LAG ISSUES / ROOM RESTARTS: This is up to the room host/captains. If there is a Disconnection (or cars stuck on grid) at race start, it is sporting to try to get them back in, which may mean a new room to be set up. I would suggest only having 1 restart if required due to DSC, due to having to set up the room from scratch and also having to set timed laps in order to set the grid. Please be as reasonable as you can with this.... TURN 1 LAP 1: The old saying goes, you can’t win the race on lap 1, but you can definitely lose it. Please be mindful of other drivers on lap 1 coming into turn 1, and for that matter, the entire race. It can be very demoralizing to hot lap on your own for 45 minutes as I'm sure many of you are aware. TRACK LIMITS: As we are running with 'track limit penalties" OFF, we will run with our usual Raceonoz track limit regulations. This means you MUST have at least 2 wheels on the ripple strip OR white line that defines the track limit. If you do make a mistake and have to run outside the limits, be aware that you are not allowed to gain any advantage, position or time wise. Track Limits protests may be launched by any active driver in the race. Track Limits will be monitored at turns 4 and 17, as well as generally around the entire circuit, with a keen focus tonight on overtakes completed OUTSIDE TRACK LIMITS. Track Limits will still be defined as two wheels on the kerb, or white line, whichever is furthest out. CONTACT: Is to be avoided at all times..... If you make contact with someone and gain an advantage, YOU ARE EXPECTED to give the spot back. Occasionally, Gran Turismo track limits may teleport a disadvantaged driver backwards on circuit to ‘reset’ them, if this occurs at the hand of another driver, IT IS EXPECTED that the driver at fault will wait and redress the position. Side by side 'rubbing' is racing is allowed and promoted within reason, but all drivers are expected to give racing room. For clarity surrounding racing room, please feel free to PM @Viperzed Show each other RESPECT! It is difficult enough to drive the car at the limit on your own, without someone squeezing you within a millimeter of the grass. So be patient and show respect to your fellow drivers. If you are redressing contact, please do so out of the way of other cars, off the racing line, or if there isn't much room, off track. PIT ENTRY/EXIT LINES: Pit Line Penalties are ON so you will be penalised in game if you cut any part of the entry or exit lines. Be mindful entering the pits that you will need to dart off to the right prior to the final corner and avoid the walls. You may receive a penalty for overstepping the mark on entry. On pit exit, cars exiting the lane are reminded to practice the pit exit as you will navigate the inside exit road up Eau Rouge. Once on circuit, stay drivers right down kemmel if in traffic. BLUE FLAGS: Please observe blue flags, and move out of the way of faster cars if you are being lapped. Failure to observe blue flags WILL result in a penalty STEWARDS GROUP AND RACE PROTESTS: This season, the Head Steward will be @Viperzed. If you have reason to protest, please SAVE YOUR REPLAY, and then let him know via a PM. DO NOT BLOW UP IN THE FORUM OR IN THE ROOM CHAT. There have been multiple incidents where the replays from drivers have been different, so its true that sometimes things are not as black and white as they may seem. You have until MIDNIGHT, Monday night to register your protest via PM. Stewards may ask for video evidence from both drivers or room captains to make any decision. SAVE YOUR REPLAY: If the room host can ask all drivers to save their replay would be good before exiting the room.....once they exit out and the option goes, it cant be retrieved! PARKING UP: If you are unable to continue to race, please enter the pits and leave your game paused without selecting tyres so that your car stays parked in the pits. Parking up off track activates yellow flags in the sector, and even though penalties are off, we have reports of penalties occurring for passes happening near the parked car. Quitting off track results in a sometimes race ending lag spike and may be punished in extreme scenarios. ATTENDANCE: Could all drivers please inform Room Captains or make a post on the division thread if they do not intend on racing on Sunday night, Room Captains/ Lobby Hosts are advised not to wait for anyone who has not communicated their intentions. If you do not post in your room thread or psn chat that you cannot attend, a spot may not be held for you for the following weeks race. TRACK SPECIFIC - Spa Francorchamps Spa produced a thoroughly enjoyable enduro round last season. This season we shorten things up with a standard 45 minute round, weather lurking. Make sure you have Wets and Inters handy incase the heavens open.

Congrats to CGod and Web. Start was messy, need to remember tyres cold, different compounds and slip stream affect braking. Was a gift for some of us, Ran RM then Rs, crossed line with no fuel. Thanks all for coming and putting on the show.
Yes mate ... was indeed messy ... had a great start only to be unfairly impacted by issues caused by others and ahead of me! i did have a couple of issues later in the race caused by my own incompetence, however lap 1 was a cluster..
indeed...lap 1 was a lottery...@RBRhoges97... i feel for you, as I felt like a pinball last week... tonight I started in 6th, as again i had some overenthusiastic overtaking taking me out during quali...hmmm.. the race itself was sort of decided in that melee on lap 1 ...i ended up in 4th then 3rd and then 2nd and managed to stay on black and out of trouble...and waaay behind @ControllaGod ... i noted few challenges but managed to get to the end through consistency if not outright sheer speed...
That went as expected. I raced OK. I had one bad lap when I was towards the middle of the group. Spun out twice, lost 20 seconds each time and that was pretty much it for me. Once I switched to mediums, I was losing 2 seconds per lap to who ever was in front of me. I slowed down to make sure Lap 19 was my last lap but didn't want to get laps so I pushed on. What really pissed me off was last week I was doing awesome and got dsc. Considering I only have one or two awesome weeks per season, I can't afford to get kicked out on those nights
