Thanks heaps @JJ_Penguin and @Kart-No-1 for the help setting up last night...first laps were certainly interesting

    First impressions for me....T500RS
    - Wheel and feedback - Still not happy with the feel of the wheel. For me there is nowhere near the same feedback i get on PC2. The wheel is very light, but was still drivable. It feels a bit weird between the wheel weight and the centre deadzone for some reason, so hopefully this can be fixed in the next big patch and adjusting the settings. Feels like if i hit a curb it pulls the wheel one way and then on correction goes too far the other way.

    - I definitely have frame rate issues on my TV. I dont have a 'game' mode and i was getting some jutter at certain parts of the track, and that was in single player at Nurburgring. I Imagine this will be fixed on the PS5..

    - graphics - About the same as PC2 for me.... GTS still the king of graphics
    - Sound, so much better than PC2 or GTS.... No tyre squeal for a start, but just the noises of curbs, and even pick up when you run off line hitting under the car is pretty cool...

Yet to do anything in the career or special events mode.... so far would give 6/10.....Expect with patches and dialing the wheel in will be a very good game, just so long as dont get sick of the limited content

until i got the auto clutch working manual starts were an absolute nightmare. didn't realise you had to/could turn the engine off for the pits so i expect to save some time now. i have ignition and starter mapped. thanks for the info @UrsineSaturn9

Anyone using a G29 care to share what they have mapped the buttons to.

And the sharp learning curve of a new game. Took me a couple of sessions to get it feeling better lol

I've only mapped things like lights to X and change camera view to square. I haven't gotten too much into the actual setup myself - most functions like pit stop and wipers are on automatic at the moment.

I have been following a guy on the ACC sookbook page who has a G29 and has been giving updates on his settingwheel setting for FFB and mapping of buttons. We will be able to get a decent amount of seat time before the private lobbies become available I am guessing.

Assume you're running the latest firmware version on your wheel? This seems to have helped many Thrustmaster users (though mainly T300 I think)

Dumb question: what's the difference between "ignition" and "starter"?

Ignition is switching on the electrics and starter is the starter

So do you need both mapped for the pitstop or just "starter"? Assuming starter turns the engine off as well as on?

Just mapped ignition and starter and set ignition to manual, but car starts up automatically anyway. I can shut the engine off by holding down starter button, but it automatically restarts itself after a couple of seconds.

Anyway, just had the most awesome quick race against the A.I. at Bathurst starting from the back with level turned down to 86% but unfortunately the replay only saves the last 2 laps :(

AI ability can bet set between 80-100% in quick race. 90% I struggle to keep up, 85% they're a bit slow. Probably 88% about right, but for now just trying to bump my SA rating up so have them slower. You can also change the aggression setting, but just kept that at 90% for now
