What else can you expect from a Government that unashamedly decided to leave the nation's internet in the stone age... I can't be bothered waiting for them to pull their fingers out to fix the site, ironically enough I'll do it the old fashioned way.

yep, got caught as well.....honestly, what a joke. As if it was ever going to finish any other way than about 10 million people trying to get on at the same time.....It will be fine they said, no issues at all they said....yeah right !

Only a DoS disruption attack, not a breach... take your tin foil hat off

For something they gloated was unhackable, unpenatrable, it doesn't matter what kind of hack it was, it's a balls up of gigantic proportions.

Nothing is unpenatrable, maybe in another country but not this one, I'm spectacle at this moment if it was real Australians overwriting the server or a Dos or actual hackers stealing information. guess we will never really know. Imagine if they tried our voting system online :roflmao:

No doubt is a massive PR balls up for the ABS, but it's something that had to be tried

Yes at first I suspected some 4chan kiddies (or whatever it's called) unleashed a DDOS but having read a report from ABC it seems that they were happy that the system could accept 1 million form submissions per hour. That's great and all, but surely most working Aussies would be submitting between say 6pm to 9pm. So is that something like 5 million per hour?

They most likely got 'hacked' (DDOS) by everyone trying to get online....
