Guys, I'd just like to make it clear, if at the end of the season people are tied on points (of best 6 races) then they will be ranked on who has the most highest finishing positions (of all races). So if you have more wins, this outranks any number of 2nd finishes. More 2nd place finishes outranks any number of 3rds, etc. If racers are still tied I'd like to suggest that whoever has the most fastest laps over the season (of all races). Then whoever has the most highest qualifying positions (of all races). If all of those results are tied (unlikely) then we can stage a race off if required (probably only if in contention for 1st and 2nd in the championship). I suggest a single lap of the nurburgring winner takes the higher championship position. Please let me know if you disagree with any of these suggestions.
I'm sure everyone would be happy with that EtM. Lol. The chances of points, finishing position and fastest laps being the same is slim. The chances of then the qualifying positions being the same has to be one in a zillion. What happens if the Nurburg race is a dead heat?
Doesn't hurt to have plans in place for the unlikely . In the event of a dead heat on the nuburgring, it will be rerun until a winner is found!!!
Since the standings are made up from the best 6 results, why dont we just have the first tiebreaker include the 7th race? That would almost certainly resolve ties unless both people have a DNS. Just a sugestion, I have no problem with the way it stands now, but we might as well reward the guy who does well across all 7 races.
Barra, there is still a reward for doing well over 7 races, as you have more chance of having more higher finishing positions.
