RaceOnOz Season 4 is coming. Get out a calendar and put a big circle around Monday the 12th of October. Our 3 seasons have so far covered 17 cars, 18 tracks and there has been over 30 different drivers involved - so you know there will be variety, multiple cars and as always, great racing in season 4.
This season will be extra special because our little forum has one hugely generous sponsor on board. Pagnian, a long time supporter of RaceOnOz, has given us a Next Level Racing GTultimate V2 Simulator Cockpit valued at $899.00 as a prize that can be won by anyone competing in any of our upcoming sim-racing series. There are eligibility rules and regulations related to the prize but all drivers who are eligible will go into the draw to win this great prize, meaning anyone can win!
Our grid has continued to grow over the first 3 seasons, which will hopefully allow us to spread out over 2 rooms in Season 4. Obviously this depends on numbers, but fingers crossed we will see this happen. So for those who are very casual AC racers (or want to do some PC racing as a break from the PSN) and want to get more time on track without aliens appearing in your mirrors, here’s your chance.
Another new initiative for this season will see us running multiple divisions for the first time in our Assetto Corsa series. More details about this will be announced closer to the season starting and obviously depends on numbers and entrants. Also the Team’s Championship will be continuing due to it’s overwhelming success, so no matter where you are in any race you will always be racing for either your team or your own driver category championship.
Below you will find the bare bones version of the season layout. We have cars for Rounds 1 to 3, as well as provisional tracks. The remaining details and any track changes will be announced in the coming weeks - hopefully Kunos will deliver some new content and we can incorporate it into the upcoming season.

All rounds will see the server open at 9pm AEDT. There will be 15-20 mins of practice and 10-15 mins of qualifying depending on the track being run, ie longer track = longer qual. Each race will have a compulsory pit stop unless specifically stated.
The points system will be managed by our master of charts and will be posted within this post and updated weekly.
Success Ballast System:
We have experimented with a success ballast system last season with some positive feedback. We are running a slightly modified version this season, but as always we are hoping to keep the racing close. Last season saw a mix of winners and podiums, and the championship was decided in the last event - so it can't be all bad!!
Here is the system in it's simplest form:
First = 80kg
Second = 60kg
Third = 40 kg
Fourth = 20 kg
The maximum ballast any driver can carry is 120kg. Your penalty is carried over 2 races, but is halved in the second race. Eg - Finish 2nd, carry 60kg into the next race. Then finish 3rd, carry 70kg into the next race. And so on. The ballast is only delivered to the top 4 drivers in each room, not in each division.
Drivers:
Just like in many GT racing series we are experimenting with a split of drivers within each room. The guys in room 1 are split into Pro and Pro-Am drivers, and room 2 are Amateur and Gentleman drivers. As the season progresses we will have a table of results for each room, and each driver category. The room results for each race are used for deciding the Team Championship, not the driver category results.
Ultimately this means we will Crown an overall Champion within each room, an overall Team Champion and 4 Driver Category Champions. Every point counts, every race counts, every pass counts, every second counts!!! No pressure though...
