PCARS (Completed) V8 SC Offseason Handicapped Racing

I'm interested, imagine I might have the biggest handicap though......judging by the wet round, the cold tyres don't bother me to much
Won't be in the country for RD 1 however

Did a bit of testing tonight and I don't think tyre temps will make much difference. I did a lap from scratch, then one after waiting 2 minutes and there was less than a second difference. I then did another lap from scratch just to make sure and it was still the same.

Temperature drops fairly quickly for a start, but then the drop-off rate reduces as time goes by. Temps started at 85 at race start, and then I think they were done to 62 after 2 minutes.

Colin and Ford please be aware when completing your first lap there will still be 3 cars stationary on the Grid.

Whats the easiest way to have a set grid?

There's no way to set a grid on this game. Unless you were to add an extra lap and have us all do a formation lap to get into position. Or run a qualifying session and we all do laps with certain times so that we're lined up correctly for the race (probably the better option but making sure everyone is up to speed and performing the right lap time could be difficult).

I would keep it simple and just have one rule - you must start from a standing position behind the start line. This may be a slight disadvantage for the first ones off the line unfortunately, but it will allow all the others to line up single file off the racing line.

Yeah that's a good idea. Drivers should be able to just pull into the middle of the two lines of cars and take off as needed.

I figured out that wasn't it, came out of the pits at Dubai with heaps of cars ahead of me. Must have been crazy good luck.

No what I ment was how you just like stu ran up the back of the car in front on the start is because you are the host. They seem to get the jump but then the rest of the field pull you back in. Strange
