Bringing up the rear of the field again this week. Went the Renault which probably wasn't the best idea but once I got my head around it, it was fun to drive.

Really hoping that I can start to put fast times together in the newer style cars. Using clutch and shifter for all this has me running at start disadvantage to myself, but really enjoy getting it right (or hearing the gearbox grinding itself to oblivion when I miss time the clutch).

Perhaps not very realistic, but I've got my handbrake mapped to the clutch pedal! :D

I just did Stage 1, was fine in the Beemer. I was going to go naturally aspirated after the uncontrollable turbo beast that was last week with the Ford Escort, but was curious to see if a modern turbo was more driveable. They are! At least the M2 is.

EDIT: Had to reset 3 times on stage 2! lol

EDIT 2: 4 stages in. Yeah, Turbo RWD's are hard. You'll just hit a rev range in a corner and it'll kill you.

I love the Rally GT class! The Aston in particular :inlove: Very close to @tezpez85 all the way through, he had more pace, but think he binned it pretty badly on stage 4 so I ended up 13 second ahead by the end

The Aston is my fav in this class. Think I'll try the Camaro or Mustang for something different this time

Yeah, stages 2, 3, 4 were pretty bad. 1, 5 and 6 were good though. Same as last week! 50% of the time, it works - every time.

Does anyone use clutch? Are you meant to? And can you enforce a car to have to use clutch to change gear if so? I just use a sequential, no clutch, but I'm not sure if that's 'right'.

Yea for these cars sequential no clutch is what the game defaults to when you give it the option to decide between that and full H-pattern on a per car basis. There is a setting for clutch override which allows you engage clutch but it doesn't mean you have to use it for shifts. I have it on in case I get stuck or something so can rev up and pop it in a lower powered turbo for instance.

    P.S. I love lamp

Hoooolly moly that was fun. :D

I ran the Mustang. :inlove: Sounds awesome. Feels awesome. Weighs a tonne (and a half actually)!
Seriously though I recommend it. It's not going to be the fastest because it's heavy and long. But it is very predictable and fun.

If anyone wants to give it a go, set up wise all I did was: diff set everything to maximum, and ARBs to 0.

Used KoAStR's settings in the Mustang. Went great apart from my wheel input :whistling: got it stuck a few times on edges so the wheels would spin and once Austin Powers style in the road :roflmao: rolled a few times, but great fun getting controllably sideways.

    Bring on next round :D

    Well that was interesting.
When I saw Rally GT was on the calendar I felt a bit nervous as my previous experience wasn't very nice. But after I completed the H3 event I went and tested them and found them to be pretty good and that actually my bad experience came from the Porsche which i felt was very had to drive due compared to the other 4 due to its rear engine setup.
Picked the Camaro for this one, it was fun and getting decent times, for the first 4 stages...
Going into the 5th stage I was looking good for a solid 2nd, I was about 20 seconds ahead of Ursine & about 50 seconds ahead of tezpez. 5th stage stated OK but a couple of mistakes and a puncture early into the 4th split hampered my time pretty bad but I still had a 7 second lead over Ursine & a comfy 30 second lead over tezpez going into the 6th stage.
Now this is where the disaster happens. Was red lining the car at the start lights and instead of letting go of the throttle i let go of the handbrake, awesome start putting me 10 seconds behind already. Had a few more moments, missed the 2 right that I miss every time, tried to back up, hit some marshals, another penalty. Finally got over the line and I wasn't even on the podium anymore.
Despite that they are awesome fun and hope to see them return in the next championship

I've just got to improve on my consistency. 1,3,5th stages I'm competitive then absolutely crap on 2,4&6. Still great fun.
