:):):):) - I just typed a novel and lost it, my login timed out or something I guess so it wouldn't submit, then it was gone.

    Anyway....
Happy returns again Fryz. Well done on your trifector once again: pole, first, fastest lap.

Did no practise for this and wished I had, don't know the course at all. At first I couldn't even do a clean lap in pre-race practise and I was like "who chose this rubbish track?!". But it was actually quite fun once you got the hang of it.

I suspected fryz would have previous experience with it but was pleased to see he was just breaking 28's shortly after I was breaking 29's. I wasn't too far off pace, and managed to crack a 1:29.3xx for 2nd on grid. Woot! There was more time there for me but I couldn't find it yet.

Got a good start but fryz was inching away. Eyes forward, ansquad wasn't close enough to challenge. But that didn't last long. Some silly mistakes let ansquad through but we had fun swapping positions a couple of times. My mistakes took a toll on my tyres so I pitted early. Which worked out well and I came out in front of ansquad. He slowly reeled me in and we had fun swapping again. With a couple of laps left I was hot on his heels and felt like I still had a look in for 2nd. Then I hit the wall opposite pit entry, bounced, slid and speared into the opposte wall. Double front wheel damage. Limping on down the straight I was being pulled into the walls and was praying for repair as Chev closed in. The repairs came just in time, but my tyres had paid a price again....

Small_Fryz and ansquad have a comfortable but not secure 1st and 2nd respectivley as we head into the final round!

Commendations to fryz, with your [458] tuning ability you really have the whole package going there mate.
I can tune OK but really didn't have time for testing on the nurburg challenge, especially with GT5's confusing back-to-front tuning!

Thanks mate!! Hopefully I can put together a solid race in the Enduro!

What happened to you guys at the pit stops though? Before them I had a lead of only 4 seconds or so and afterwards it was like 15!! ?

I reckon the pit was a bit buggy for some people. Which is a shame because it seemed to spread the field out massively after everyone had pitted, and probably ruined the race for a couple of guys without them really knowing what was happening.

Yeah there was something weird with the pits, after my tyres were changed, the camera was just looking at my car for ages and I wasn't leaving the box :(

Anyway the damage had already been done for me as I spend the first 4 laps sideways, then threw in a spin after chev got passed me.

In testing I noticed that if you entered too fast the AI would play up or you would miss your pit spot. So in the race I made sure to enter the pits slowly to avoid any issue.

Or did the guys at the start still have trouble even entering slowly?

Yea the same happened to me.
Pits were real weird and glitchy at this track, you'd race into pit lane and it would set you back 10m as it cut your speed.

For a lap or two I actually thought fryz still hadn't pit because of the gap.
Then as lap 14 - 15 came around I realised, there was no way you hadn't pit already.

From all the PC racing in the past I've gotten into the habit of testing a pit stop before hand. In the PC world you had to get to the pit speed limiter and not speed etc and know where the line is be able to make up ground on the in or out lap. Making up 2 seconds in the pits is easier than on track!

GT5 doesn't penalize speeding but I have noticed if you go too fast into a pit lane it can penalize you by taking the car back 10m and having you go real slow. The fact the track was run in reverse made it worse as the distance to pit stalls was very small.

The only other time I've experienced glitching in Pit was when following others in. Sometimes the AI would slow you down a lot to wait for another person or hold you longer until they are past etc, which also costs valuable seconds :(.

    Shame people had issues.

Yea it all went down in the pits for me. I zoomed in at full speed lol, and the car reset at the start of the pit. Then just like Outta and KoaStR, my pitcrew watched the sunset before releasing. Then I came out just behind another car who pulled into the pits, and had to slow down again until he got into his pit. Lap 10 was the magic number for most of our pitting lol.

This has happened at Daytona before. I tested both coming into the pits at full speed and coming in at the pit speed limit, and both times it glitched and held the car there for 7 extra seconds.

    It's a shame alright Beau...

One of the reasons I went for a no stop in Div 2 was I got the pit bug in practice. Unfortunatly my tyres were buggered near the end and Flood caught me last lap.

Guys, as it's fathers day I have a dinner tonight I can't really get out of, so once again koastr will host tonight. I was looking forward to the tight fight for 5th in the championship. Not to be.

Goodluck to all, the title has gone down the the last race, but it will take some work by ansquad and koastr to beat fryz.

Tremendous end to the Season. With only 6 of us on the grid I thought it might turn out to be a boring enduro. It was anything but as three of us at least had our hands full virtually start to finish. One of the cleanest and closely contested races I've driven. Apart from fryz who just drove away with it again. Full credit to ya mate.

Ansquad and I must have swapped positions about a dozen times! My first sector I had down packed, but even towards the end of the race I wasn't nailing the mid sector and braking point for the final corner, so ansquad would be all over me.
I made a couple of silly mistakes, one just before the first pit. Stig's spin at T1 with ansquad close behind was too much distraction. I deviated from my usual technique slightly and ran wide almost spinning. But with different pit strategies ansquad and I ended up together again in the second stint. Pushing each other to catch Chev in 2nd who had a gap on us. We caught him down the straight, but it was a real push as he was driving a very solid race. I thought "yes! another 3 way tussle, this will be fuuu......fuuck!" as I underestimated the 'double wammy' slip stream and ran wide on T1 into the litter. :(
Pushed my second tyres a few laps extra so my last set would have good grip by the end. It paid off as I passed Chev on lap 50 for the 3rd spot. Unfortuately those couple of earlier mistake put ansquad just out of reach, finishing about 6 seconds ahead, fryz about 20seconds ahead of ansquad with total race time almost exactly 1hr.

Congrats to all you guys that stuck out the season and especially the enduro round despite the dwindelling grids. Without you guys we didn't have a championship. Thanks it was great racing with you. :D

Massive congrats to Fryz with a resounding championship win, taking pole and fastest lap nearly every race.
Solid performances from ansquad stealing second (on drop your worst round points damn you! :p), and Chevwah, stepping up from div2 and challenging the div1 championship podium.

I'll update the wiki now and do fastest laps later in the week. Bonus points won't affect the championship result.

As I said, it's been great racing with you guys, this Season has been thoroughly enjoyable and seemed to go by quickly... But I need some time off and won't be racing next Sunday Season. Cheers all.

I typed this up in word before I saw your post Koastr lol, Cheers bro, was a great read :D

First off congratulations to those who saw out the entire season! As my first complete GT5 league it was a pleasure racing with you guys and I enjoyed the battles and races along the way.

Qualify: I got a nice 104.270 early but I knew Ansquad was capable of going quicker and Chev and Koastr wernt far behind either. In my last crack on fresh tyres I managed to improve my time a few times until I finally ended up with a 104.1xx which was enough to complete my clean sweep of poles this season! True to my predictions, Ansquad was close behind on a 04.3, Chev 04.5, Koastr 04.6 with Never enough on a 04.8?
Mighty close grid for the last race and with massive slip stream on offer I lined up expecting quite a tough race ahead!

Race: I never quite figured out how best to launch the Mclaren this season and this race was no exception. I got a great reaction time but a poor getaway and I had ansquad right on my tail going into turn 1. I had done some practice on the starts with cold tyres so I was comfortable with my braking markers and I just hoped the guys behind would also take that into consideration. We safely made it through the first few laps incident free. Awesome driving guys and one of the big reasons I love racing in this league. On about lap 3 I ran slightly wide at the exit of turn 1, touching the grass with my left rear and spearing sideways across the track, this allowed Ansquad to get past and killed my attempt at trying to break the draft and get ahead. I recovered well and ended up passing Ansquad down the main straight into the first corner and from then on I was able to stay ahead while he and Koastr started to battle it out for 2nd. This allowed me to get a few seconds lead and crucially break the draft from the pack. From here on I focused on driving quickly and smoothly and opened up a 4 second gap before pitting on lap 18. Had a 10 second lead once pits sorted itself out as Ansquad went a few laps later etc. I drove a strong middle stint which saw my lead slowly increase bit by bit as the fellas behind battled more (positions were changing all over the place!). I pitted for the last time on lap 37 and came out inspired to take the fastest lap points on my low fuel and strong tyres. Drove a 104.0 and a few 104.2s before the tyres lost their edge, by then I had a 23 second lead with about 10 laps to go. Had a few minor brain farts in the closing laps, causing me too brake a touch late here and there and loose half second in the process. I kept it off the wall or grass but it did mean my lead was pretty much stagnat and with 20 seconds gap and only a few laps from winning and taking the title I did my best to just bring it home.

Congrats to Ansquad and Koastr for the podium and Chev for taking the fight to them all race!! In the end you just missed out mate. It was a top performance considering you were Div 2 last season!
Again I thank everyone involved in organizing and running it, Outta and Koastr for hosting and you fellas for showing up!

Not sure if we will have a lot of interest for Div 1 next season but we will see.

Cheers Fryz, glad you enjoyed it mate ;)

Yea forgot to mention that start, was excellent driving by all on the cold tyres with some tricky corners and braking points. Cautious and gentlemenly but still off to a quick, tight and competitive start. One of the best I've seen. ;)

Sure it will be mate based on your 458 pace. ;)
I'm sure Carn will shuffle things around to ensure we have a full div 1 grid whoever is or isn't racing. :D

Yeah hopefully mate, really looking forward to my first season eh, didn't put too much time into the qualy though as I thought if I put too much effort in it would be a false representation of my race pace and I'd get owned in div 1 if I didn't put hours of practice into every single round, if you know what I mean, yeah, confusion!

I can't even remember if I ran the quali lol. Pretty sure I was nominated for div1 by default thanks to Paulie and beau lol.

Seriously though your 458 lap is def d1 pace.
