Hi guys. Does anyone have the Fanatec CSL Seat (http://www.fanatec.com/au-en/play-and-gaming-seats/csl-seat-au.html)? If so, just wondering how high is the seat's eye height. Cheers.
Not sure if anyone does, looks ok though. Reasonably priced as well. I must admit I am looking at a pagnian seat, but the price of the fanatec one is attractive.
Yea, I was looking at the GTxtreme but too pricy for me (for now). The price and the simplicity/small footprint of the CSL seat make it a winner. Plus, am looking to get a Fanatec wheel and pedals. Might have to use cushion though to increase the seat eye height.
Hey @stucar17 , do you know if the GT Ultimate cockpits are designed and developed by Pagnian themselves?
I believe they do their own development. I know that hess has asked some of our guys on feedback for updating and improving their products, particularly Castro (justin)
Sounds great. Well, I ask because it hit me today that they may be eligible for the government’s R&D tax incentive (for more info: https://www.ato.gov.au/Business/Research-and-development-tax-incentive/)—seeing that their cockpits are quite innovative (and the only ones in Australia, I believe?). Btw, disclosure: I work at Swanson Reed (R&D tax specialists). I’m not sure if they have conducted any R&D work during financial year 2013–14 (or if they are doing any now), but if they are do you think they’d be interested in getting back some of their development costs?
I was looking at the CSL before I got my Obutto, I will see if I can find some of my research bookmarks and post them here. I think he main drawback/con was the lumbar support in the seat and people were getting around it by getting office chair lumbar supports that you strap on to office chairs and fitting them under the cover.
I have the oZone, and our late mate Bruce had the r3volution. I found the above 3 reviews to be most helpful, and the below link to the GTplanet thread with a comparison to the CSL's father the rhinoseat. http://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threa...iew-clubsport-family-vs-t500rs-in-gt5.274349/ When I was looking at the CSL it wasn't available in Aus, and Fanatec wouldn't give me any idea if or when it would be. I got prices to purchase the US version, and get shipped back and the cost became more than my Obutto but with a lot less features than the oZone. The Obutto was at my place in under a week and I am based in Tas, and Obutto Aus dealer is based in NZ. You can read my experiences here: http://raceonoz.com/forums/index.ph...w-for-tax-purposes-home-office-work-desk.674/ Hope all this helps, if you haven't guessed already I love sim hardware Cheers Clevo
Awesome stuff Clevo. Just went through your post about the Obutto. Now you've put me in a pickle lol. I was sure I was gonna get the CSL. And that's a bonus to get the tax break. Can you split the seat and wheel stand apart as to move the stand away for storage?
You can if you want, the seat base is only held on the table part with two bolts, a clever bloke could come up with a quick release system I am sure
Only issue I see you could have just thinking bout it, is if you use a shifter, then you would be having to unwire the shifter every time you split the rig as it's mount is bolted to the seat base.
No final decision yet, but as much as I'd like the Obutto, I think the CSL would suit me at this stage—as I've already got a dedicated work desk (incl. keyboard/mouse tray), I'm in a tiny apartment with the missus and have only a small man cave/study room, and I'm also planning to get a fanatec wheel/pedal set to keep it less than $800. Perhaps when we move to a larger place, I'll get the Ozone (or even the revolution). Although your setup looks like a blast; thanks again @Clevohead for your advice hey.
