Reviewing the forums I've added a few more guys to the list who said they've given iRacing a crack...

If y'all don't mind, I can update the list with iRacing names for adding to your friends list. Want me to?
Then, at the very least it's easy for all of us to hook up in official sessions.

    From the iRacing General thread...

This sounds like a great idea Stone - and the ideal purpose for private racing sessions between friends; to improve our racing for the public domain! Just a bit hard for me with the time daylight savings time difference. Unless we run Sunday night. Just that Sunday nights will limit the guys who also participate in the GTLOZ GT5 league.

Wednesdays I could probably commit to a 6.30-7pm WA start.. would that be too late for you guys in eastern states?

We don't even have to commit to every week, could be fornightly or something. That way you get one week to focus on the public races without trying to juggle learning another track for the hosted session, and really take advantage of the previous weeks practise in Rooz hosted race.

    Maybe with a monthly or bi-monthly alternate meet in Legends on road, or an enduro or something thrown in...so race total race meets 3 weeks per month, or 5 weeks in 2 months respectively;

    • Week 1 - Rooz race 1 (on iRacing week 2 track)[/*]
    • Week 2 - no Rooz meet[/*]
    • Week 3 - Rooz race 2 (on iRacing week 4 track)[/*]
    • Week 4 - Rooz special event 1; Legends on road or enduro or something[/*]
    • Week 5 - Rooz race 3 (on iRacing week 6 track)[/*]
    • Week 6 - no Rooz meet[/*]
    • Week 7 - Rooz race 4 (on iRacing week 8 track)[/*]
    • Week 8 - no Rooz meet[/*]
Repeat - with separate championship ladders for the forntnightly and (bi-)monthly fixture

Keep in mind that hosted sessions have a cost (a couple bucks) I'm prepared to use my iracing participation credits to fund a couple of these sessions. Would be nice to rotate it.

Schedule looks just fine ... but better not get caught snoozing though ... a 6 race series will blow by, and if you get behind (pts) early, sayonara ..! ;)

I'm going to be in the SM every week, practicing every track on the calendar, so will also be available for get-togethers on our off weeks if others are keen ... but don't get me wrong ... I think Dave has it perfect for a first go-round ... better to "up" our comittment to something we're enjoying, than over-commit and put a strain on all our time

And yes, Dusty ... defo share the costs (I've never hosted anything, but it can't be hard, right?) ... and, I would also prefer an enduro to the Legend, too

Let's do it ... no :):):):)in' about ... if people wanna suggest some time-slots that work for them, and link into Dave's availability if possible, as soon as there's some consensus, I'll book our first session.

What do we want on raceday ... 30 mins practice; 15 mins qually; 45 mins race? Again, if we make it any longer, will that put a strain on people would need 'family' time? A 90 mins comittment is a good starting point, do we think?

I gotta do some (bloody) work, so will check back in later. Looking forward to inputs on time-slots. Something that works for Dave on a Sunday, will be best for me, but will be flexible.

Great to see some enthusiams! I agree; better to under commit than over. And it will be nice to commit to a parallel iRacing season format, saving ourselves the hassle of track selction! - Just have to decide whether we want the even or odd weeks :p - our ROOZ championship season could flow on across say 2 iRacing seasons if we didn't feel there were enough races with the fornightly format.

My thinking for the special rounds was that we'd rotate the format meet-to-meet; enduro, legends on road, street stocks on road, maybe an oval event - mix it up with something we don't usually do.

Your timeframe looks good Chris. Minimum session time is 2hrs @ a whopping $1.00. So there'd be 30mins left over at the end for any one who wants more tuning/practise time or another short fun race. I've got some credits so am happy to host too, although I've not done it before either. I agree rotating would be a good idea - Beau excepted as he pays for the TS server already.

We'll also have to agree on 'lone' or 'open' qualifying.

I reckon we should run lone, one lap shoot out style qualifying!.

    - 30 Minute warm up session
    - 1 lap shootout (or two)
    - Race (or two)

Sounds sweet. I'll start drafting up a new post with regulations, entrants (develop into leaderboard) etc soon.

No Probs - it's established as a work in progress ATM - http://raceonoz.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=1072
Just need to get some more numbers.

I think best to get this off the ground first, then look at the special events as a parallel series later.

OK - correct me if I'm wrong but here's the schedule options for even or odd weeks against the iRacing schedule.
Laps are for approx 45min race (150% of iRacing official race length).
    Red = I don't own that track yet :p

Even - first rooz round THIS WEEK to keep one week ahead of iRacing.
    1. Laguna Seca - 42 laps - Wed 1/02 or Sun 5/02[/*]
    2. Oulton Park (Int w.out Brittens) - 39 laps - Wed 15/02 or Sun 19/02[/*]
    3. Iowa (Oval) - 120 laps - Wed 29/02 or Sun 04/03[/*]
    4. Spa (GP Pits) - 30 laps - Wed 14/03 or Sun 18/03[/*]
    5. Sebring (Int.) - 30 laps - Wed 28/03 or Sun 01/04[/*]
    6. Watkins (Classic Boot) - 36 laps - Wed 12/04 or Sun 15/04[/*]

Odd - first rooz round NEXT WEEK to keep one week ahead of iRacing
    1. Road America (full) - 30 laps - Wed 8/02 or Sun 12/02[/*]
    2. Mid Ohio (full) - 42 laps - Wed 22/02 or Sun 26/02[/*]
    3. Suzuka (GP) - 30 laps - Wed 29/02 or Sun 04/03[/*]
    4. Road Atlanta (full) - 42 laps - Wed 7/03 or Sun 11/03[/*]
    5. Zandvoort (GP) - 36 laps - Wed 21/03 or Sun 25/03[/*]
    6. ???? We'll have to choose another track[/*]

I have commitments this Wednesday night - if we do the even schedule my preference is Sundays.
Sunday 25th March may be an issue for me too - if we do the odd schedule my preference is probably Wednesdays. This would give us another week to get numbers in and practise adjust to the car, but we loose the practise advantage for offical races in 6th round.
