And then I watched race 1 from nations. Terrible! (both times!). Final race worth watching though. I also noticed they were using Fanatec wheels at Tokyo rather than Thrustmaster. Wonder why that is?
There was a fault on the hardware, hence they pulled out of the event. https://www.gtplanet.net/fanatec-replaces-thrustmaster-tokyo-world-tour/
Had my first spin at Spa last night. This GTS version with surface punishment for track violations is awesome.
*Initiating Vent/Rant time Update on my absolute trash of a time getting my Fanatec wheel replaced. So almost 3 weeks ago I sent my Podium wheel back to Fanatec to be inspected and exchanged for a new one. I was given around 2 - 3 working days for Fanatec to receive my item. Two weeks in and I have heard nothing. The tracking number said it was in transit for delivery. I queried Fanatec last week and they said they haven't received anything. Just heard from the freight company today that the receiver has rejected the delivery and the items are on their way back to me. What the actual F. I just sent an email to Fanatec to see if they really have rejected the delivery and are aware of it or if the freight company has majorly effed upped and don't know what they are doing. How many months must I be without my wheel? This is ridiculous. *End Vent/Rant time
Yes, Thrustmasters are super reliable which is why they used them at the recent World Tour event at Tokyo
Yes, one had an error so they replaced all of them rather than just thr faulty one. I don’t get it. From my experience Fanatecs are the most needlessly expensive, overrated and unreliable wheels on the market. I’d need to count with my toes the amount of people who’ve gone through the same crap @Noxrai is going through.
Thrusmaster and Fanatec users can fight as much as they want over who has the superior wheel. I'll stay over here with my G29, which is essentially a $300 DS4
So looks like the freight company has stuffed up. Fanatec say they have not rejected any deliveries and are still waiting on it. The tracking number no longer works on my parcels. Absolute bunch of amateurs. I'm going to be peeved if I have to pay again to send them back where they should have gone in the first place. I've had my fair share of issues with thrustmaster too jono. When I first had my t300 in the first week shifters played up along with the d pad. Ended going through a very similar slow process with thrustmaster with back and forth emails. They also wanted video evidence. I got fed up and ended up fixing the issue myself by opening up the wheel and placing little rubber pieces for the contacts to hit. Worked ever since... Then my brake pedal snapped clean off. Cut my foot open pretty good too. So yeah I think there is a lot to improve on both sides be it quality or their customer service.
this is why I use the g29. It might not be the best wheel, but if I buy it retail and it has an issue in the 2 year warranty period, I take it back and swap for a new one. (which is exactly what happened)
Back in GT5/6 a mate of mine had a Fanatec. After breaking the rim 4 times, he finally got a refund 3 years after buying the wheel. When a product is faulty twice by consumer law you can demand a refund. In those GT5/6 days I used the Logitech GT $129 wheel, we both set better times on it than the Fanatec unless we spent half a day adjusting the ****ing thing, and even then it was minimal. I have a T300 now, (my 2nd) my first T300 was a lemon, with crazy infuriating intermittent problems. My advice is get a refund, Fanatec are expensive, and a bag of problems. By consensus the TGT or the G29 seem to be the most reliable wheels. Pedals are another conundrum
