I'll be at the beach that weekend, so count me out. I already voted for the P1 anyway. I don't mind if I suck that car, I'm sure I'll suck a lot less by the end of the season! :)

I heard thekie25 mention on YouTube that you need to be careful to brake first before downshifting in the P1, as otherwise the DRS does not disengage properly (see 6:15 in the video) I haven't tested myself.

Interesting point. Pretty sure most people are braking before they down shift when they approach a hairpin. I still feel the brakes aren't good enough for the engine they put in the P1.
I guess it's just a car characteristic that we will all have to adjust to if the decision is made that we will be racing it. It's a challenge I'll happily try though. Being successful over the challenge is another matter.

Just gave the p1 my first test run.
Initially before I had even set foot inside the car I had my doubts about it, tainted from my experience in the Audi R8 last year with both being an MR car. Bathurst was hell. With it possibly being on the racing calendar this season I dreaded driving another MR.
I can say that all of the above that others have mentioned is true.
Yes, you need to brake a lot further away from the corner. Like before the 200m marker on Mountain Straight or just before the right hander on Conrod heading to the chase.
Yes, it doesn't like to turn under acceleration. Coming out of The Cutting you need to either be so far left to make the corner which isn't possible or you let off a little. Same goes for the 'Parks' on top of the mountain. Lift and maintain speed, not accelerate.
Yes, it doesn't turn well under brakes. Forrest Elbow is tough as you need to brake well before the right hander. Double braking seems to work.
The thing that I was pleasantly surprised with was the Dipper. I could take that without the car spinning wildly left or right like the R8.

In short, yes it will be tough to drive. It will require constant attention to ensure you don't push it too hard as when you do it makes you pay for it. Unlike the R92 where you could push it and it rewarded you, this punishes you.
    My 2 cents.
Managed a 2 min flat Bathurst. In 5 laps of prac. Might be able to hit 1.55 but that will be pushing the car pretty hard.

My school asked me to do specialist math back in year 10. Was a cold hard no from me.

Nope, at that rate the P1 GTR is cheap at $15k.

At $0.06 we have somewhere near 0.000000017%

I tried it with @xlxy90 last night at red bull ring.
It's great fun but will kill you without respect.
I would try not to include tracks with multiple kill zones in a P1 season

Would recommend a Season consisting of 7 races of Northern Isle Speedway :)

Round 3 sounds like the beans.
For those of us with rigs, we should put the monitor/TV behind our seats and drive by looking over your shoulder. :p

I just had a crack at Bathurst too. Very sketchy to begin (RSS tyres and TC1). After a few laps, got up the balls to turn TC off and managed a 1:56.507. No where near that pace though racing the AI (plus plenty of "racing incidents")
