First podium for me! :) Good to be back at ROOZ after a hiatus since S6. Great battle with @incey (sorry for the tap on T1). Congratulations @Mightymurph51 on the win who had the pace on everyone!

    I've got a process ;)
It didn't help, but my race was over before that point. Thanks for the redress though.

Well done to all...hadn't done any practise due to real life busyness...and moving my rig to another room and not getting it set up. Was a pity not getting practise in - I'll need plenty to keep up with this division! Ill be able to get some in this week for Maggiore :)

Figured I would run around the back...kept up in the pack for a while though, but gave @Matthyus a bit of trouble trying to stay out of his way/ making mistakes.

My best lap was done on mediums...which i thinks speaks more to me finally getting my groove in...though some mentioned their medium times were comparable to soft times?

Looking forward to doing lots of laps at Maggiore before next sunday...

Yep, practice, practice, practice is the key. Kudos for keeping it together under the blue flags though was secretly hoping you would hold up @Mightymurph51 a bit more! :whistling:

Best fun I.ve had in racing in a while. I love these type of cars.
I struggled to get in the groove with the RM. Got swamped at the end. Had some great battles and very clean. Few bumps here and there but all fair.

Had a great battle with pat good fun. Thought it was over when u passed me. But next lap managed to force you into a very late brake.

Pitty I will miss round 2. But will be back for round 3.

Cheers for the racing guys, It's been my first real league race in maybe 15 months. Had so much fun and awesome battle esp the first 5 or 6 laps with @incey iirc.

Those blue flags last for what...5 laps or so??! Seemed forever. I knew I had a while before you caught me but I guess Gr4 cars levels us all out a little (compared to gr3/ faster cars etc).

I surprised myself a little how long I held out in front of you, especially after you almost caught me on my early RS pit - was hoping you hadn't pitted yet, glad I was right! Was hoping to tag along with you for a bit longer but didn't want to put a wheel wrong and upset that fight....

After staying in front of you for so long I did consider holding out in front of murph...but wasn't my position to fight for...you both got past well, pity I couldn't do the same for Johnno...sorry again mate!

It just wasn't my night. Wrong strategy for me. Shoulda gone the 2 stopper and used my lacklusture pace to attempt to keep up with the front runners. That and I need to practise more close racing to get used to how to cope with it. I fall back when I get crowded.

I got by nice and clean with minimal time lost. I considered for a second trying to defend harder against Murphy for the last 3 laps, but went the safer option to avoid any incidents or losing too much time battling. Didn't want to bin it on the last few laps! Don't think I could have held him if I tried anyway on 12 lap old RM's vs RS plus Murphy's pace advantage. Just happy to finish on the podium!

For me that went way batter than expected. Right up to the start of quali I hadn't chosen a strategy but the went with starting on RMs, finishing on softs. My overall result was 12th to 8th. Managed to avoid some chaos early by picking a path through the fall out of a few offs and at one stage found myself in 6th. But a lapse of concentration saw me put a smidge too much tyre onto the grass at the fast turn 13 kink and around I went, losing two places. Got back up to 7th on the next lap at turn 3/4 as @deedz_aus spun out on his own. Mid race I did pass @Max Gassit at the end of the main straight in a classic slipstream overtake but was eventually passed by @VARDZ in a similar manner so back to 8th where I stayed.

Well that was a surprise result for me. There were a bunch of guys in Div 3 who have regularly beaten me in the past but I thought 'well someone has to make up the numbers" and tried to get on with it. Warmup saw me slower than half the field. Pulled out a rare 48 in qually to get me near the pointy end for the start. The restarts were a bit annoying with different people's issues taking turns at stuffing the race. I felt sorry for the top qualifier envy who got away on the 'last restart' only to find out a bunch of others didn't and therefore there was a new restart and he didn't start.
First turn on the 'final' final restart saw me squeeze saturn coz he got a great start and i didn't realise he had a good line into T1, sorry mate, not much loss and we got on with it, totally my bad. Me and murphy were nose to tail for awhile then he seemed to give me the lead which i preferred anyway, i struggle a bit following someone very closely. he was up my arse like something from hatfiled's collection for a few laps and great driving from murph and saturn saw us as one arrow on the map. Inevitably I made a mistake at the fast left....took me half the race to get it right...and murph was through. shortly ursine was through as well and i watched their better race lines increase the gap. I was always gonna 2 stop coz i couldn't get the hang of the mediums and on the first stop i had to get up to turn on the fan coz i was sweating up a storm. when i sat down the bit of rope holding the chair to the wheel mount slipped off and braking hard pushed the wheel away. The resulting slow laps cost me a bit of valuable time. Went in for the second stop after two laps on the mediums and watched a few guys pass me while i waited on fuel. Fixed the rig and got back into it in 7th maybe with pat dazza and glen all reachable targets on the lesser compound. Wore them down and due to battling and errors ahead was able to pick up three spots in the last couple of laps to nab the bottom step. Q3 P3 is great after getting some new tips during the sunday sesh from bryan which changed 3 of my braking and turn in points. Very happy overall and watched a replay that was very enjoyable.
Thanks everyone for a great race, even Jonesy who made the blue flag pass a no hassle affair. I'm better at maggiore so looking forward to that one.
    PS
should we do some experimenting with hosts during the week to get problematic connections racing? Happy to volunteer hosting to try it out.

I got a nose in there, but you were in front and arguably you gave me enough space. Nothing lost, nothing gained. Was thoroughly entertaining watching you and Murphy battle it out in front. Great racing.

@HSVDT_15 at this stage I will put you in div 3 as a reserve.
We have a driver or 2 missing the next round so this room will let us gauge your pace

Yes I think we should. I went back over my network monitoring after the event and there was something going on net-wise across the race time period.

Here's what a normal 24 hours looks like for us at home:

And here's what was happening during the 24 hours either side of the race.
Clearly some sort of issue. Mind you the ping only blew out to about 35ms so nothing drastic i.e. it's not 300ms (red bars in GTS).

I should have practice session up tonight say from 8:00pm AEDT.

WELCOME to Season 9!! Thanks to Selby Acoustics
As always please take 2 mins to read the following so you have an understanding of what is expected on race night......If you have any questions, or want clarification on any of the rules or regulations please ask!

ROOM OPEN : Most room captains will 'try' to have rooms open by about 7:50 AEST. Please be on time, or let the room captain or div thread if you may be late. If all agree, the room may wait for you, Within reason. Please remember we have drivers from NZ, and later starts mean a much later night for them.
QUALIFYING : 8:20 AEDT for 10 mins. Once 10 mins has been reached, finish the lap you are on and park up off track. THE PITS ARE CLOSED DURING QUALIFYING
RACE START TIME : 8:30 AEDT (once qualifying has finished)

LAG ISSUES / ROOM RESTARTS : This is up to the room host. If there is a Disconnection (or cars stuck on grid) at race start, it is sporting to try to get them back in, which may mean a new room to be set up. I always look at 1 or 2 starts if required due to DSC, but as it gets later everyone needs to be aware of getting things going. Please be as reasonable as you can with this....
SIGHT ISSUES: Ensure that you can see everyone on track. After qualifying, exit to lobby and spend 30 seconds in spectate mode, scroll through the list of drivers on track and make sure that you can see their car. If you can't see somebody (and they are confirmed as being on track), exit the lobby, re-join, and check again. It can also be done pre-qualifying to save time if there is no chance of latecomers.

FALSE START CHECK : Please note that the start type is Grid Start with False Start Check
Please practice this so you know what to expect. Simply, you hold the brakes on until the lights go from all lit, to none lit

TURN 1 LAP 1 : This has the potential to ruin someones night if we don't use our heads! Should be everyone's goal to get through the first phase with ZERO contact. Give room and run in your 'lane' till you have space to run the normal race line. If your unassisted tap causes someone to spin, you need to redress.

TRACK LIMITS : As we are running with 'track limit penalties" OFF, we will run with our usual Raceonoz track limit regulations. This means you MUST have at least 2 wheels on the ripple strip OR white line that defines the track limit. If you do make a mistake and have to run outside the limits, be aware that you are not allowed to gain any advantage.
At the exit of T3 it is permitted to run completely over the white line prior to entry to T4 as this would have been ripple strip before the extra layouts of maggiore were released. Be careful with cuts on T2-6 & T10-12 that you don't go completely over the ripple strips on the inside.

CONTACT : Is to be avoided at all times..... If you rear end someone and gain an advantage, YOU ARE EXPECTED to give the spot back. Side by side 'rubbing' is racing, within reason, but all drivers are expected to give racing room.
If you bump someone and they end up off track or teleport back to the corner entry, you must wait for them to rejoin and get back up to speed.
Show each other RESPECT! It is difficult enough to drive the car at the limit on your own, without someone squeezing you within a millimeter of the grass.
So be patient and show respect to your fellow drivers.

TYRES : Racing Softs and Mediums (must use both compounds separately at least once each)

PIT ENTRY : Drivers MUST make an attempt to use the pit entry / exit lines.
PIT EXIT : Please use the pit exit lane and be aware of cars approaching down the straight. IF SOMEONE IS IN THE PITS, BE CAREFUL OF RUNNING OVER THE PIT EXIT because if they are released, they will be unable to avoid you
    NOTE: Pitting is COMPULSORY

BLUE FLAGS : Please observe blue flags, and move out of the way of faster cars if you are being lapped. Failure to observe blue flags WILL result in a penalty

STEWARDS GROUP AND RACE PROTESTS : This season the stewards will be will be @Hatfield @JonoStan96 @Viperzed & @emmo46. If you have reason to protest, please SAVE YOUR REPLAY, and then let us know via a PM.
DO NOT BLOW UP IN THE FORUM OR IN THE ROOM CHAT. There have been multiple incidents where the replays from drivers have been different, so its true that sometimes things are not as black and white as they may seem. You have until MIDNIGHT, Monday night to register your protest via PM. We will ask for video evidence from both drivers or room captain to make any decision.

SAVE YOUR REPLAY : If the room host can ask all drivers to save their replay would be good before exiting the room.....once they exit out and the option goes, it cant be retrieved!

PARTY CHAT : With the new party chat feature able to hold up to 16 participants, each division will have an open party chat for those that wish to use it. We recommend this especially to new drivers as they may ask questions about how the night is run or to clarify anything they are not confident on.

FINAL NOTE: Could all drivers please confirm their attendance for this Sunday by 'liking' this post in your division. If you are unable to attend, please post in reply as much in your division. This way we can figure out our reserves or if the room can start early in advance.

Couldn't find any pace last night. On Tues racing in amongst everyone else was getting mid 1:25s, the odd 1:24 on RS. Last night cracked into the 1:25s twice!
