Unsure of how i'll go tonight in VLN, should be kicking things off from the Top 6 on the Grid, not quite as quick as last week!
I'll be in the GORGEOUS yet very twitchy and deadly Audi R8 LMS GT3.
It only has two modes:
2. Very Fast into Armco
3. Very fast at being spat off the smallest curbs
Well, 2/3 are kinda the same hahaha
Seeing as i haven't posted here in close to a year... figured i'd post a little of what i've been up to on iRacing.
From the opening round of VLN this year.
The biggest thing i've been able to achieve over the last 12months has easily been qualifying for the Blancpain Endurance World Championship on iRacing where the best of the best compete for over $30,000 in Prize Money. I'm fortunate enough to be competing in the #29 Evolution Racing Team BMW and it is seriously the most incredible series i've ever been apart of. The competition is ridiculously difficult. After 2 Rounds we're hurting a bit with a DNF in Round 1; however Round 2 at Sebring was much more promising running inside the Top 15 for the first 2 hours; only to finish down in 22nd. To compete alongside Fernando Alonso's official eSports Team is pretty cool....
Trying to chase down Fernando Alonso's very own Audi R8.
And of course; me being me i still am obsessed over the Nordschelife and have dedicated alot of time to the VLN Endurance Championship. I run the 4 Hour Races solo and am currently doing quite well; holding Second Place outright in the Championship out of over 275 GT3 Teams including RACEONOZ's very own team. 7 rounds to go but it's a promising start.
Anyway; i'll go back to merely being a spectator to the site these days; but good to see the community growing as big as it is and still seeing alot of old faces around.
Had to do a double take of the dude’s name in first...
Pretty sure he is friends with Kaiden McDonnel
Don't forget steph321
I can confirm all of this.
I went around some Corners and a straight bit of road or two. Zoom Zoom i guess.
As you guys might know the Daytona 24 Hours was on for iRacing this weekend just gone by and my Team i compete for; Altus Esports created history for Australian SimRacing. Whilst many Australian Teams had won the lower Split Races; no Australian Team or Driver had ever won the Broadcasted Top Split; the 'All Star' split where all the biggest Teams Run and spend Months preparing for.
Well... we DID IT! TWICE! Unbelievably my team managed to win the GTE Class from Pole with Fastest Lap in a Registration SOF of over 7.6k; the highest Talent field ever seen in the Daytona 24; and i was apart of the GT3 effort for Altus and we won from Pole and Fastest Laps too!! The GT3 Registration SOF was a little lower at 6.7k but holy crap it was an effort we are so damn proud of and it's insane to think i am apart of this slice of Australian SimRacing History! Equal-First Australian to win the Top Split Daytona 24; and apart of the First Team too. ABSOLUTELY Stoked!!
But it wasn't without it's fair share of Drama; our biggest lead all race was only 60 seconds and despite pushing flat out the last 4 hours; we would win after 24 Hours of Racing by JUST 5 SECONDS.
This is how we celebrated....
I ran the first 4 Hours; Hours 12 to 14 and then 16 to 18. But that first hour was so damn nervewracking leading the start of the race! Holy crap. A weekend i will never forget! Whilst this is by far my new proudest SimRacing achievement; RACEONOZ's GT6 Season 5 Div1B Title remains a solid Second!
Broadcast can be found here; i started the race for our team:
Great effort mate, well done and congrats
The brand new BMW M8 GTE to iRacing goes through the only way i know how to test a car; take it to the Nordschelife!
I like your pedal cam
Very scruffy lap by me shouldn't have been Pole; especially after blowing Les Combs pretty badly BUT somehow sneaked it when the Top 4 were all within 6 Hundredths of a second
It's like a game of spot the difference!
