For those of you who know Velly from OCMB or RPR he's still running my old 2008 PC for iRacing!

Settle down 1 at a time, don't want one of my potential Development Series champions having to many eggs in 1 basket

    Thats good to hear.

Also, i currently scored a free 23" monitor with some pretty decent specs, making a hard mount at the moment, should hopefully be done today!

    Hey fellas
After going through a bunch of Sites i have finally came up with the PC i'm after. Going through a bunch of Pre-Built and Custom part picker sites, i have always seemed to end up looking at an i7 6700 CPU. However the PC i'll be getting (Pre-Built) has an i5 7500 CPU.
Is there any downside to the i5 that will affect how the game runs making it worth waiting the extra weeks for the i7?

I don't think it makes that much difference for gaming, are those CPUs the "K" version or just the standard?

The i7 would be slightly faster at gaming.
Other tasks like media encoding, the i7 would have more of an advantage due to it having hyperthreading.

I would say the i5 wouldn't effect gaming, but would have a big difference on any video editing or similar application (not gaming) due to cores and extra power of the i7. I'm not an IT guy so if I'm wrong please let me now :)

    Awesome thanks guys. :)
In the end i've decided to go for the pre-built with the i7 as it also has more Memory for only a little more pricewise

If it delivers as promised it'll be a win for us with a possible price war with Intel.
I'm hoping my recent upgrade will last me a good few years like my last upgrade did :)
Still those that have been wanting to upgrade I'd now be holding out to see what happens...
