    Only just saw this lol

Can absolutely say all my coaching is self taught. I haven't been as consistent lately thanks to lacking the time to hop on however it's been a nice change to be up the pointy end!

    Marwick Head Shootout
    Apr 28 - May 4
    Course: Hounds Tooth Point
    Par: 72
    Rounds: 4
Difficulty: 6.5/10: This course set on an archipelago features several holes with sloping fairways and unforgiving drop offs. Be sure to check the lie angle before every shot or your ball might meet a watery end.

Hounds Tooth Point is a fantastic fantasy course set in the Isle of Rona. Spectacular views of the North Sea are aplenty, and the wind is always a factor. Be sure to pack an extra set of balls in case you lose a few missing the spectacular Par 3’s, or attacking the wonderfully sculpted Par 5’s.

The opening hole is a tough Par 5 with danger at every turn. A bunker in the middle of the fairway forces the player to aim either side. An uphill fairway wood is needed to reach the green in two and any mi:):):):) will cause grief. The green is perched slightly so the green slopes off in all directions.

The 2nd is a spectacular Par 3 that plays downhill and only the North Sea as the back drop. Knock down a short iron and prevent your ball from ballooning up in the breeze. Deep rough surrounds the green so your ball wont roll off the cliff if you hit the green and miss. But you wont like the result if you miss the green completely.

This short Par 4 shouldn’t be too difficult for most players. Just find the middle of the fairway off the tee and then fire a short iron or wedge into this massive two tiered green. 2 big bunkers protect the rear right of the green which slopes severely to the right.

This Par 5 is a dogleg right that can be considered to be an even tougher version of the 6th at Pebble Beach. The drive needs to be long and on the right side. The approach is blind but can be attacked with a 3 wood or driver off the deck over the cliff. The green is large and receptive, with a lone bunker at the rear.

The 5th is a medium length Par 4 with a fairway that sinks into the large pond. Avoid the lone bunker and you’ll have a relatively simple approach into a large green.

Number 6 is a narrow Par 4 with the cliff coming back into play. You don’t want to miss this fairway as the rough is deep and you need to carry over the North Sea to reach this isolated green perched on top of a small piece of the archipelago. The green is triple tiered with a lone bunker protecting the rear.

The 7th is another downhill Par 3 with the North Sea providing an intimidating backdrop. You’ll need to carry a bunker to reach the rear of the green so club selection is vital for success. Again, don’t miss the green otherwise you’re hitting 3 off the tee.

The Par 5 8th is a dogleg right that requires a tee shot hit long and on the right side. The green offers a harrowing approach, as it is cleverly built into the side of the cliff. Bunkers front of the green may prevent your ball from suffering a watery setback.

9 is an uphill Par 4 that plays significantly longer than its yardage. Clear the bunkers off the tee, and you should have a mid iron into a three tiered green. The wind can play a factor here so make sure you pick the right club, or you’ll be having to lag a putt rather than draining a birdie.

The back nine begins with a downhill Par 4. Aim to the right of the fairway as the ball will roll down the slope to the left. The green is one of the smaller on the course and slopes toward the pond.

The 11th is a narrow Par 4 that zig zags along the coastline. The green can be approached with anything from a wedge to a mid iron as the green is 50 metres deep! The green’s false front is treacherous, so make sure you take enough club to get up near the pin.

The 12th a very exciting short Par 4. The green is reachable off the tee but only if the wind supports you. Going for the green isn’t the smartest play, as it’s all abyss if you go over the back. Shots fired at the pin need a lot of spin to prevent the ball from rolling off the back.

This is another tricky uphill Par 5. Avoid the bunkers off the tee to give yourself the best chance at a birdie. Reaching this green in two is difficult as you’ll be approaching this perched green with a fairway wood, and a deep bunker protects the front.

The 14th is a challenging Par 3 over the gorge. You don’t want to miss short or you’ll be out of bounds. The best play is to use the back stop, you can’t attack the pin if it’s at the front. Get out of here with a par and move on.

After 3 difficult holes, players can gun for a birdie here at 15. The slope will want to move the ball left so be sure to aim accordingly. The green is relatively flat, minus the false front.

The cliff comes back into play at 16. A well placed tee shot should leave just a wedge onto the green. The putting surface is relatively unprotected, or you’re toast.

The 17th is the signature hole of this impressive course. It’s all carry over the North Sea to an isolated land mass with 2 pot bunkers protecting the front of this green. Missing the green is a guaranteed bogey.

The finishing hole is a short, uphill Par 4. Clearing the bottleneck off the tee makes the approach to this green much simpler, you’ll only need a wedge to attack this green.

    Farmland Challenge
    May 5 - 10
    Course: SS’s Woodlands Creek
    Par: 72
    Rounds: 4
Difficulty: 7.5/10 A course that demands serious accuracy off the tee, narrow fairways engulfed by deep bunkers punish the poor tee shots and the greens are not receptive to low lofted shots. Consistent swing tempo and shot placement will be the winner here.
    Predicted Winning Score: -28

Woodlands Creek’s designer has taken inspiration from a farm that he grew up on in Fernvale in far north NSW. As a matter of fact the back 9 has been mapped out by the designer next to Tweed Valley Way! The result is a phenomenal and unforgettable fantasy golfing experience, one that weaves its way through the creek and dense trees. Each hole is a unique and challenging prospect, all combining to create a golf course unlike any other.

The opening hole is a dogleg left Par 5 that can be reached in two shots. But you’ll need to carry the bunkers off the tee to give yourself the best chance. From there it’s all uphill to a perched green that slopes significantly from back right to front left. [IMG]

This short Par 4 shouldn’t be too difficult for most players, but make sure you know where the pin is located before you tee off. If the pin is closer to the tee, you’ll need to hit a harder tee shot. If you find the fairway off the tee, you should have only a wedge onto the green. Oh, the green reachable from the tee by the way. [IMG]

This long Par 5 will prove to be quite difficult you miss the fairway off the tee. Avoid the fairway bunkers at all costs, but if you are too far right, trees will block your second shot. There isn’t much room to land on with a fairway wood so laying up is the smarter option. The green is well protected by bunkers and a fierce false front. [IMG]

The 4th is a tricky Par 3 that demands a tee shot with a lot of backspin. The green is surrounded by deep cavernous bunkers just waiting to catch any errant shot. The green slopes off in all directions while several tiers split the green into sections for pins, so the hole will never play the same twice. Have fun with this one. [IMG]

The fifth hole is a short Par 5 that’s reachable in two, but many hazards lurk in the fairway including 2 bunkers in the middle of the fairway some 260m from the tee. The green has several bunkers hidden from view but the green is fairly inviting, and once again features a large tier. This is a very good birdie opportunity. [IMG]

The 6th fairway is just pop marked with hazards. Full power isn’t the smartest play off the tee as you’ll more than likely have a sandy landing. Even if you find the fairway, you’ll have a long approach into a green protected by the stream. The green slopes towards the water, and pins tucked up the back are a real nightmare. This is a tough birdie on any day. [IMG]

Long and uphill, the Par 3 7th is the definition of target golf. Try to ignore the bunkers on the left, the best play is to use the back stop to your advantage and feed the ball close the hole. Just don’t end up short, or in the trees over the back. [IMG]

8 is a short dog leg left Par 4. Carrying the bunkers off the tee will yield a simple pitch onto this shallow green, but danger lurks if you miss. A relatively simple hole and an easy par. [IMG]

The ninth is a medium length Par 3 with the end of the creek protecting the rear. Balls that bounce short of the green will likely roll back toward the player, so club selection is critical. As is avoiding the many bunkers protecting the left side of this narrow green. [IMG]

The inward nine begins with strangely, the last Par 5 on the course. And it’s long - almost 600 metres from tee to green. With 4 distinct fairways, there are options aplenty, but the most desirable option is to play this hole conservatively and avoid the stream that winds its way through the fairway, and the out of bounds on the right. The green is very deep, and slopes off in all directions. [IMG]

After a brutal Par 5, the 11th is a short Par 4 that is a drivable off the tee, but it requires a rather lucky bounce and roll. Nothing too fancy here, a simple drive past the bunkers and a pitch onto the green will suffice here. Just don’t miss right, or the ball will roll off. [IMG]

The 12th is a dogleg left Par 4 that plays over a small valley. Anything left off the tee will be in the creek so play your tee shot right to set up the best angle to the green. Anything short of the green will roll way down the hill, while anything long will be a tough up and down. [IMG]

The 13th is the last Par 3 at Woodlands Creek, and once again, it’s a long one. The green is protected by 3 bunkers and a large pond. Much like the 4th, the green is features several contours offering many pin placements. [IMG]

14 can be seen as a Par 4 version of the 10th. It’s long, has several split fairways and out of bounds punishes anything sprayed out right. A greenskeepers shed offers a unique target at a distance, as the green is relatively small and shaped like a fidget spinner. [IMG]

The 15th hole is a risk reward Par 4. You can opt to bomb it off the tee, but you could end up in the water. But if you lay up short, you’ll have a long uphill second. The putting surface is raised, and as a result has a nasty false front. [IMG]

The 16th is a fantastic short Par 4. It plays relatively easy if you it to the left, but it is drivable off the tee. But you’ll have to contend with steep slopes and deep bunkers if you miss. The green is large but particularly cambered, so putts are treacherous, even at knee knocker range. [IMG]

17 is another Par 4 with bunkers protecting the middle of the fairway. However if you find the fairway, you’ll have a mid iron into a well protected green as the stream eats into the left. The green is particularly troublesome, so make sure you read your putt carefully to avoid a bogey. [IMG]

The finishing hole is a double dogleg Par 4. Avoiding the bunkers is crucial as the green is not receptive to low lofted shots. The creek protects the green on three sides and a huge drop off on the right can leave a tricky up and down. [IMG]

Hi guys, my internet has been dire this week so getting onto the course to do a hole by hole preview has been next to impossible. I should have it done by tomorrow night. I would recommend practicing this course, as I think this might beat The Highlands for the highest score for victory (+1). And that’s without any blowout holes either!

    Manhattan Open
    12 - 18 May
    Course: Central Park
    Par: 72
    Rounds: 4
Difficulty: 10/10: This course has probably the hardest Front 9 of any course on the tour. The first 3 in particular are round ruiners and demoralising, and can easily snowball your round taking you out of contention early. Treat each hole with respect, keep your tee shots accurate to give yourself the best chance of scoring. This course features some of the longest Par 4’s and 5’s that you’ll ever play so never let your guard down. The greens have been softened and slowed down to give you a fighting chance, so nail those putts and you’ll shoot up the leaderboard.

    Predicted Winning Score: -6

Central Park is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. But it now has a golf course? Well in Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06 and 07, it did! Central Park Golf Course weaves its way through the ponds, foliage, streets and attractions whilst providing a relentless golfing challenge. No hole is a safe bet as trouble lurks at every turn, with almost sadistic levels of punishment being dished out for even slightly errant shots.

The opening hole is an absurdly long dog leg left Par 4 with water all along the left side. The tee shot must be placed along the right side to have an accessible shot at the green as it is blocked by a large tree. The green is huge and rolls off toward the pond. This is probably the hardest Hole 1 you will ever play.

Hole 2 might be just as hard as #1 as it requires a deadly accurate tee shot to avoid the expansive body of water on the left. Keep the tee shot as far right as possible to open up a clearing to the green with a fairway wood. The green is once again huge and slopes off to the left. [IMG]

#3 brings a body of water called ‘The Pool’ into play, as you gaze upon the harrowing approach ahead of you. Best to aim for the rear of the green as any shot that fails to clear the comically steep false front will roll down into the water. Don’t think about the pin, just ensure your shot lands safely and get out of here with a Par. [IMG]

After 3 brutal opening holes, the 4th offers a genuine birdie chance on this 3 shot Par 5. The dog leg left hole can’t be reached in two, but if you’ve found the fairway on the previous two shots, you’ll only have a pitch onto the green. It slopes away from you towards the water and the bunkers shouldn’t pose much of a threat. [IMG]

The Par 3 5th is another one with a painfully small landing area. Each side of the green slopes off into its respective bunker so holding the green is a real nightmare. Most birdies are made when the pin is at the front as the green narrows at the back. [IMG]

#6 is a very long and difficult Par 4 with water all long the left and and OB on the right, the aggressive tee shot will be forced to take a very tight line. There is plenty of room to layup before the cart path however. The approach is often taken with a wood or long iron and with OB placed perilously close to the front right, the scores can rack up on this hole very quickly indeed. [IMG]

The 7th is a truly bonkers Par 5 where the player must carry the water to reach the fairway. You must then thread the needle between the trees to ensure an easy approach to this green. There are alternate routes to the hole so keep an eye for various patches of fairway. The green is well protected by two bunkers and slopes back to front. [IMG]

A large slope separates the two fairways on this Par 4 dog leg left. It’s extremely difficult to carry it to the other side but your reward is a much easier approach to the green. For most players it’ll be a blind long iron into massive green with a false rear. An exciting hole and one of the easier holes at Central Park.

The 9th hole is an amazing dog leg right and demands an accurate tee shot. The very narrow fairway is surrounded by a walking path so balls may kick on if hit at just the right angle. Miss the park night lights to avoid a wild and bouncy set back. Make sure your approach clears the street otherwise your ball will bounce over the green and into the fountain. At least donate a coin and make a wish while you’re at it.

The inward 9 at Central Park is bookended by 2 long Par 5’s. The 10th requires some serious island hopping as you need to carry ravines and hazards to reach the subsequent fairways and green. Avoid large pond by keeping your tee shot left and placing your second shot in the middle of the second fairway. The green is one of the easier on the course with the second tier placed at the back, and a lone bunker protecting the right. [IMG]

The teeing areas at the 11th are cleverly built into the walking paths of Central Park. It plays over water so get your club section right otherwise you’ll end up wet or in one of the two bunkers protecting this shallow green. [IMG]

The 12th is an exciting downhill Par 4 with a narrow fairway. A huge bunker punishes anything hooked left while anything right will face a tough second shot. The green is cambered in such a way so that everything feeds towards back left - use the slopes to your advantage. [IMG]

There’s another narrow fairway that demands an accurate tee shot here at 13. But if you find the fairway, you’ll have a comfortable wedge shot into a narrow but deep green. Missing the green will result in a difficult up and down from the bunkers or the heavy rough on a steep incline. [IMG]

The 14th is a long Par 3 over the stream into a difficult green. A lonesome bunker protects the green on the right, but pins on the left side are by far the most dangerous as the green narrows significantly. Use the back stop to your advantage. [IMG]

15 is a short Par 4 over water with ample room to land the ball in the fairway. Watch out for the pesky bunkers on either side. The approach must carry the water into a green that slopes off considerably in every direction, so choosing the right club is very difficult. [IMG]

The 16th is a stunning Par 4 where finding the fairway is critical. Players will want to take every possible advantage to take distance off of their second shot, but don’t bite off more than you can chew as your ball will be in the water more often than not. The green is relatively flat and but any miss will be wet, and the ball is very susceptible to rolling off the back. [IMG]

The dogleg left 17 might be the trickiest hole on the course. The tee shot must be aimed as far left possible but not too far left otherwise you’ll be blocked by the trees. The approach is all uphill to an right angled green fronted by a bunker. Birdie would be a steal here. [IMG]

The finishing hole is a Par 5 that is reachable in two but it is very much a one in a million chance as the green is unreceptive to woods. Play your tee shot long and on the right side and choose a fairway to approach, just make sure you avoid the OB splitting the fairway. The green is surrounded by water so make sure you pick the right club! [IMG]

    Honolulu Invitational
    18 - 24 May
    Course: Pelikila Golf Club
    Par: 72
    Rounds: 4
Difficulty: 5.5/10: This gorgeous course shouldn’t provide too much hassle for the accurate player, however there are some holes that require strategic tee shots and accuracy from tee to green. Avoid the white sands as much as you can.
    Predicted Winning Score: -38

Hawaii is home to some of the most beautiful and spectacular courses in the world. This fantasy course has been a mainstay of the The Golf Club/2K series since the first game in 2015, and is always a popular choice for a casual round or competitive match play from the championship tees. Combining beautiful scenery, several dog leg holes and a penchant for island hopping, Pelikila is a course you’ll want to play again, and again.
