PAGNIAN Prize COMPETITION 1 DETAILS & DISCUSSION

Hey lads, just wanted to be certain I've got the car modded correctly before investing some serious time into this, so your all running it maxed out besides Small Fryz who didn't do the rigidity upgrade? I'm running 705bhp, car weighs 1232kg's giving me 616 performance points, sound correct?

I had a quick crack last night, did a few sighting laps, best was 6:53 with a lot of improvement to be had but even so, 6:21 seems like it would be out of reach for my car as is, I've got alot of experience hotlapping in many other racers, just recently been getting into GT5 but still, Small Fryz and jezza have some outstanding times there, which, even at this early stage, seem out of reach, very well done fellas.

Hey Snake, yer you max the car out and 702hp is what it is until you run it in. You must change the oil first as well, running in Arcade time trial; your car builds up to 724 hp fairly quickly but also goes down if you do a fair few laps (or half laps in my case). Fryz and Jezza times are exceptional, I am no where near them, but I tried Fryz car set up last night and its good.

Thanks Fryz, at first I thought it would be one of those you have to be super good to handle this set up's and at first it was. It felt a bit floaty in the front compared to my set up and after a couple of corners it had to much oversteer for the way i was driving it. My old set up didn't turn too good but tail was happy. I kept loosing the back end by turning to hard, so I backed the front height off to 25 and did a couple of laps (half laps). It was less inclined to loose the back end but had to corner a bit slower to stay on track. I got used to that and was a second up at times on my previous best with out too much effort. I went back to the 30 front and pulled a first half lap 3 seconds quicker than my best lap at the same time, i lost that lead back to .5 of a second and finished back up by 2 seconds. So there is big time to be made with this set up, I just got to put it all together. My new time is a 637 and should be low 630 by the 31'st hopefully get in the 20's. Haven't spent a lot of time on it but may put in some hard yards on the weekend, not expecting top 10, just want to get a decent time on the officially Pagnian sanctioned 1st real Aus/NZ best driver leader board.

I know a lot of people think why bother these guys are way too good, but by backing this comp and putting a time in, there will be future prize events of a different format where anyone can win the prise just by competing. This first major prize event is to show the world Aus/NZ have some pretty good drivers and deserve an event such as this, Polyphony didn't include us in previous comps but Pagnian imports believe in us and are parting with the cash in support.

All gtleagueoz members put a time in no matter what and get your friends to do so also. Castro and Hess went to a lot of trouble setting this up, the least we can do is a couple laps round a track. Cheers Bonus, a bit more oversteer sounds good to me tbh, sometimes I feel I've pulled the car up plenty for a given corner and it's just understeering wide, I find myself yelling "TURN DAMNIT!" haha, I really think the rigidity mod is hindering the car badly in the slower stuff too, can I remove that or will I have to buy a new car? Gonna put in some hard yards this weekend for sure, lookin forward to it.

I doubt we will be pushed outside the top 10 with those times though. Do you want me to go back for another crack? have a bit of a fight for number 1?

Also do you mind sharing your settings at all? just curious to see if they are similar to mine.

true. lol yeah you can get back on it for another go if you want, i might hop on sometime aswell and try to do a better time

yep ill post my settings up next time i get on gt5 and look at them, theyre sort of similar to yours, but i think its a bit more extreme. Castro must have looked at my car and thought "whoa, that looks weird" haha

haha yeah i know, it looks heaps weird! i dont know what ride height works best, but something similar to Fryz's setup with the front up a bit and the rear down seems to work alright, ill post my setup next time i go on GT5. most of the setup im using can be found over the net aswell, im using most of "paulie's" setup i came across lol, because i dont know how to set cars up. thankyou paulie

I'm trying to do a lap that i can submit. I'm yet to actually complete a lap though haha.

I don't know how everyone would feel about me participating. I don't stand a chance at winning, not with Jezza and Fryz so fast, and I really don't want to disconnect and ruin someone's chance at the grand prize.
