I suggest sorting the names by surname so that I am not on the bottom all season :p

I'd like to have a few runs in this that's for sure. Only driven the Star Mazda briefly but thoroughly enjoyed it when I did.

I renewed my iracing sub but I didnt get back into it as my steering is all weird. The HUD wheel stops turning at 90 degrees, but the visible wheel in the car goes to 900 degrees. Same with my real physical which is turning 900 degrees, the tyres feel like there doing 900 degress in 90 degree zone though as per the HUd.

If that make sense, basicly it feels super sensitive like 900 degree been pushed into a 90 degree zone. All my settings look fine, im not sure if its anything to do with logi profilier as I use that too for my gamepad in BF3. Either way I put it in the "too hard basket" might give it another go sometime though.

are you sure it' not just because you have the "animated driver hands" turned on, which limits the "visible" wheel rotation in cockpit.

    Just had a thought.

With our series race format, would it be worth considering shorter races. Like 2x 20 minutes, or even 3x15 minutes?

The reason I ask, is because, in the event that we get a crap turnout (which is likely), and if the field spreads out a bit, 45 minutes could very quickly turn into a "no contest", boring.
Also, If there are 3 or so races, then this would widen the scope for trying different setups, strategies etc, thus leading to faster learning.

EG: Race 1 - Dusty takes pole, opt's for a conservative tire pressure to make sure he has plenty of pace, late in the race. Dusty gets the :):):):) blown out of him for the first 5 or 6 minutes. By this time he's too far back to have any chance at victory! DUSTY FAILS.

Race 2 - Dusty starts from pole again, however he has been fiddling with set-up during the 5 minute break. Secretly he has increased his pressures, and changed his aero. Dusty gets off to a flying start, blows the :):):):) out of us for the first ten minutes, then his tyres become over pressurized and begin to fall off the cliff. By the final lap Dusty finds himself in last position and a hard finishing Stonemonkey takes victory!. DUSTY FAILS AGAIN.

Race 3 - You get my point by now hopefully. :)

The hands were on, they were annoying too didnt know you could turn off. Maybe it was playing with my perception coupled with the new tyre on the Mx-5 and not racing for a while. Dont know only did 2 laps didnt feel right though so didnt touch again. I will give it another shot.

Yeah agreed. You can do a "tournament" which you can do race 1/2/3 etc. So for race 1 you do standard qualifying. Then for race 2 you could do a reverse grid or reverse top 8 or something. Then race 3 you can manually set the grid of a combined points system for that race.

Just an example of stuff you can do with iRacing hosted sessions.

    I like it Beau :D

Heaps more chances of wheel-to-wheel action with multiple starts ... I might prefer 2 races to 3 though ... I can't decide ... I'm wondering how it would be to fall off the road on T1 lap1, and only have 4 laps to pull something out my arse! ;)

    1, 2 or 3 ... I plan on having a ball ... but I'm totally behind the multiple idea :)

Beau, or Beau and Madz ... wanna design the event program? I'm up for whatever you think works, or think is fun

Yea no problems. It all sounds good. In fact I'd been thinking a 2 race format would be a good place to start. Championship points for both. Possibly reverse grid for number 2, which will be especially good in the case of a small turn out. Great minds.....

Tek, I would double check your profiler settings, and make sure logitech profiler is running before you launch iRacing.
Also double check your steering degrees setting in the iRacing options menu. This should match what you've set the profiler to, especially if you've gone for the 900 (which is recommended as it defaults to the native lock for each vehicle).

Here's my logitech and iRacing settings for a G25

I like the idea of Qualy, Race 1, then Race 2 a bit longer and reverse grid. I think that'd work well with low numbers (although I'll try and get a few more guys in on it from TT-R and teamspeak).

I had a good look at the Hosted Session and Hosted Tournament options, and how to setup tournaments.
Hosted tournament could be a good option for using iRacing to track the results.

We will have to use Hosted tournament and book two back-to-back sessions for the multiple race format, especially if we want to run each race at a different length.

    EDITED after finding this http://members.iracing.com/jforum/posts/list/1840318.page

Don't, whatever you do, listen to Box-Bonce ... he can't managed multiple cars in a session, let alone multiple races ;)

Will look into how to transfer some iDollars to ya, Bro :)

EDIT: No ... actually ... let's just take turns to host ... take a little of the admin offa Dave ... folk ok with that?

I've drafted up the number of laps for a two race format to be approx 15 mins and 30 mins each.

P.S. The idea being that the longer second race reduces the urgency for the faster guys to make their way back to the front in the reverse grid, reducing the liklihood of incidents. Extra time to be patient!

    Any other preferences?

Also nominated an enduro round of one race at 45mins for the final with a compulsory pit stop. How is everyone with Spa for that round?

    Taking suggestions ;)
