Has Rooz ever implemented a manual rolling start? Where as race starts but first lap is a formation lap. Obviously this takes some discipline by everybody doing it correctly for it to work, but would allow a lot closer rolling start as compared to irl and would work that way. It’s just obviously GT’s silly implementation of such a hugely staggered rolling start and having mid pack start round corners and whatnot.

World Endurance Tour says nobody understands it and it can't be done properly.

Haven't we already had the vote when we picked seasons. In a perfect world I woulda had hats gt3 car, Bryan's track list. No tyre wear etc. But we don't always get what we don't.

It should stay with what was voted for at the beginning.

What's wrong with rolling anyways. By the 1st turn everyone bunches up anyways.

I’m a bit disappointed that this vote has come about as it was part of the package we voted for. But since we are at it can have a vote to change the car to a VW Combi? (Yes, sarcasm)

The reason there's a vote is because after the meet and greet (which often gets used to iron out any kinks) people in every div found the rolling starts to take away the exciting starts that a grid start produces

If people are unhappy that they're disadvantaged by a rolling start, why don't they just drive faster in qualifying? :p

Rolling was part of the package when this was voted in. I voted for the Genesis, but alas this was voted in - which included the rolling starts.

I don't mind rolling starts in these cars - it's forced in FIA, which makes the qualifying more important. It is what it is, and we should stick with it for this season. Obviously if it's such a huge problem, it wont be an option again. As mentioned above, by the time we all get to the first corner, it's generally bunched up. I guess with the grid start, you have the option of jumping up on a quick reaction and such - but how many first turns have ruined someones race by others pushing and shoving their way through? I know I've had a few ruined by that.

For me that was the biggest take away from the MnG - few if any first corner incidents, especially at Monza.

To add to these sensible comments.
The Renault bogs down on the take off (G3 version does too).
Do we really want a start being decided by who can hold 45%-50% acceleration the best and the handle the wheel spin as you go flat to the floor.
Or do this throttle control perfectly and have a driver in front fluffing it, and then crash into the back of him to get damage and lose more time as you were trying to swerve around him.

Just playing devil's advocate here. You are making points about the rolling start, how about being 10-12 seconds off the lead car before you've even crossed the line and you are going to cross the line and they're already at turn 1 or they're crossing the line and you are not even at the final corner yet. Did anyone see spain??? Leader was crossing the line and the last car was half way between T12 and 13

Some good arguments from each side if I'm honest - even if I'm on the grid start preference.
Well yeah, that's all part of the skill of launching a difficult car

If the option ‘don’t mind either’ wins does that mean we will stick with rolling starts?

I would argue yes because that's what we accepted as the default position.

grid would need a majority in total votes of the 3 to change from rolling to grid
