Season 12: Division 1 (Apex King's)

Welcome to season 12 of the ROOZ Sunday League. Strap yourselves in for 7 rounds of great racing in the Honda NSX Type R ‘02. This is a premium car, and needs nothing added but an oil change and about 300km’s to run the engine in.

If you are new to racing with ROOZ or haven’t been in a ROOZ series for a while, please check up on the rules and it’s also worth reading Koastr’s piece on driver’s etiquette. This series is a one make event and tuning is prohibited, bar brake bias. Cars can be painted and feel free to throw on some fancy new rims, but leave everything else stock.

We have needed to shuffle the rooms quite a bit from the last few seasons, but the bigger numbers per room should ensure plenty of battling throughout the season. If you can’t make a round, please let us know in this thread asap, and remember that we have a “Drop you worst round” rule so missing one round won’t ruin your championship hopes. Speaking of the championship, for Divison’s 1 and 2 we will have a Rookies ladder in conjunction with the traditional Division ladder. This will mean that the room rookies (in red below) will not only be fighting tooth and nail for precious divisional championship points, but also against their fellow rookies in a battle for Rookies Championship.

As for the nitty gritty of this season, here it is:

Tyres - Sports Soft.

Tracks, Dates and Laps -

Round 1: 18/08/13 - Tokyo. 25 Laps.
Round 2: 25/08/13 - Cote d’Azur. 26 Laps.
Round 3: 01/09/13 - Cape Ring South. Sprint Round - 2 x 16 Laps.
Round 4: 08/09/13 - SSR 5 Reverse. 30 Laps.
Round 5: 15/09/13 - Suzuka. Enduro Round - 39 Laps.
Round 6: 22/09/13 - Nurburgring GP/D. 28 Laps.
Round 7: 29/09/13 - Spa Weather. 15 Laps*.

*Wet race settings: Room set to 0% weather and changeability, but 100% track coverage. There will be a 1 lap qual (outlap and hotlap) then the race will begin. The aim is to start before track coverage drops below 90%. Racing rain and intermediate tyres are allowed as well as sports soft in Division 2 and 3, only racing rain and sports soft tyres are allowed in Division 1.

Finally, we are here to have fun, race with like-minded driver’s, and try to go as fast as we possibly can. There is a mix of long tracks and short tracks, some with limited passing zones and some with plenty. As with every season, you will get out what you put in. If you are going to run some practice laps put a post either here or in the shoutbox and you might find you get a few mates join in. Again, that is ultimately what this is all about, a community of drivers racing fairly and having some fun together.

Hey guys.......great job anon getting this up and running. looks like will be a cracking season.

now the bad news.........Still dont have the net on, is ordered and should be ready on about the 23rd this month...

tried to jump on GT5 last night to buy the car and have a run, the PS3 wont load the disc......looks like i need a new DVD / blueray drive

So will miss the first round with no net, will be in Queensland for rounds 2 and 3, then i still havent got a PS3 that reads discs.......

Might be best to take me out and will see how i go getting it fixed, and slot in where there is a spot after round 3.....

Not good Stu, what are you doing in QLD? Have you got permission to be in our beautiful state??

Heading up with the fam for a holiday for week. Staying at seaworld, and doing the theme parks. Looking forward to it.
Just spoke to optus and my new service is scheduled to be activated on the 22nd (next thursday), wont matter if the stupid PS3 wont work.
